I tried what you suggested a while ago and destroyed a mouse with a japanese sword in frustration when I couldn't get anywhere with mirc,' for the time being I guess I shant be chatting anywhere. I don't understand the need to have such additional programs when on an msn newsgroup, for example, you can chat without having to download anything heavy on the mb front!! But as i've said over the years, we never had computers at my school like you lot (or you lot who were/a bit younger than me/errrr....) so i'm still playing a constant case of catch up....

None of us have played it yet so there can't be an expert can there... Why Cain? Well, that's really up to him. He deserved all the flack he got in this instance. I'm curious to! Whether or not it's any better than Rebellion remains to be seen, but you would certainly hope so given it's 2005. What doesn't take to much to work out is that it will be different.

Brilliant point GL seems to have overlooked; but perhaps didn't realize in 1975... Given the scale of the battles, perhaps GL was worried about to much blood and gor....but perhaps not given the violence in AOTC... so i've not had enough sleep either... Agree with this I do. I would have prefered a Bladerunner-type atmosphere; dark, wet, and forbodding about the uncertainty of a crumbling republic...

Whilst I more or less agree with a number of your points, I must point out a few things. Star Wars is essentially a children's movie. When I watched EP1 and Jar Jar did something that made me and the other die-hard adults cringe, most of the kids laughed... I would love to slowly lower JJB into a vat of acid headfirst after i've tortured him/it with a pair of pliars and some of my poetry, but when you see kids with JJB lunch boxes, ultimately you realize where GL is aiming his target audiance with things in the film. The EU books. Personally I cringe whenever I lay eyes upon them these days, so in my personal opinion they are a poor source of quotation... Zahn wrote a pretty mean read concerning Thrawn, but things slid pretty much into the realm of the Jar Jar after then... Ultimatly, upon reflection the prequals haven't been so bad imo, from what i've seen of EP3 it looks dark enough to send a shiver down the backs of small children...which is good!! Oh...hello btw dude!

I will say just this: It has been along wait. A 'Total' conversion was always going to be ambitious given that means replacing everything. Game developers employ entire teams to do this sort of thing full time! There have been frustrating spanners in the system (people dropping out and more or less taking their work with them) but it is now very much on course...for a release date err...sometime not so far away... If any of you want to check how much work there needed to be done, use resource hacker to have a little look at the files.... but I can assure you it is going to happen; to much work has now gone into it to simply be shrugged away or abandoned.

Let's not use Zoot! Most of us have had fun over the years but he doesn't cross over into the Star Wars community who have never heard of him... Edit: oh and also I didn't mash up his Yoda image in the first place, some one else did, and it was so long ago, i'd have no idea how to credit him/her.
