Gee I sure like to make topics about snow! So we got mad hit with snow last nite, I can't see my car!!! School's closed, and I'm just waiting to get verification that work is closed too. A whole day to sit back, do some homework, and play some PS2. Ooooh yeah!!!!!! Edit: So yup. I called work at 1 and he's like "of course we're staying open! a restaurant can't close on Valentine's Day". Then at 2 he called me and he's like "yeah, we're closing up for the day." SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!

All I can say is that, in my experience, the work is more in reading than in actual writing. I'm reading like 5 books at a time (2 each for 2 classes, and 1 for another class), but the big pain I have is my Constitutional Development class, where I have to summarize like every Justice's decision for given cases. Fun, fun, fun...

Of course not!!! On a side note, it's snowing up here and I'm praying to the Snow God Yeti to let it continue so that there is no school tomorrow. The forecast is for 24+inches!!!

Now, in my theory, it isn't neccessarily due to an alien invasion, just alien contact. I have limited nerdiness in regards to Star Trek, but I remember seeing (and enjoying) First Contact, where they go back in time to ensure that the Vulcan notice them, make contact, and the future is a wonderful thing with the Federation and whatnot. But its like that. Granted, if the aliens are hostile, then of course we're going to unite to defeat them. But even if they "come in peace" the world will still unite as one planet rather than a couple hundred nations.

In my opinion, and I've been saying this for many, many years, the only way the world will unite (and thus the UN will work very well) will be when we find alien life. Once the extraterristrials (sp) make contact, the world will be changed. We will not look at existence from a nation point of view, but from a planetery point of view. We will be Earthicans (thanks to Futurama for coining that phrase, though I prefer Earthians. Either one is better than "Earthling"), and the world's nations will unite to better the human race in general.

I don't think English does. Isn't that considered a "germanic" language??

I used to work in the cash office at my local Walmart, and I used to have to work with security in pulling up cashier register journals and looking for particular things. Sometimes the customer was actually a friend of the cashier, so the customer would bring like DVD players and stuff with price tags of much lesser items, and the cashier would ring it through and I guess get a piece of the action when he/she saw their friend next. But Ive seen people try and return like DVD players with a rock inside the box, or computers that they dismantled and took all the inside parts out, and clothing that was dirty and torn. Some people have no shame.

It would be great if cars could run on water.

I agree with you Mad. There are many countries who have a voice in the UN that definitely don't deserve it. But at the same time, the UN acts as a sort-of kind-of diplomacy arena and what not.

The first one was actually decent. After that, it was all downhill.
