  1. I dunno. Those movies are "iffy". I was excited to see "Date Movie" cause it looked ridiculously funny, but was disappointed. This seems to be the same deal. I might wait for it to go to the $2.00 discount theatre...
  2. That's pretty awesome! I never trained with a sword unfortunatly. When I used to take martial arts, I wielded a bo staff. But I used to use my staff to spar against others with shinais. Good times back in the day.
  3. Me thinks those swords are a bit big for fencing... Nice buy!!! I'm very jealous!
  4. There is one thing I do as the Imperials all the time. I let the Rebels have the Sluis sector. If I start the game with 2 systems there, I'll either move everything out of both to another system in a different sector, or sometimes I'll leave just one as a base of constant sabotage/espionage activities. But that is always the last place I'll strike. Let the Rebs build it up nice.
  5. Theres quite a few, but I think Master Logray is one of them
  6. Congrats J! At this rate, maybe you will gain world-wide attention as the premere nature photo-man, then you will host your own show "J's Wild World of Mammals" and eventually you will be rich enough to fly everyone to London for the 1st Total SWR Meeting!!!
  7. Has anyone ever realized how scary some of the ewoks looked? I mean, most of them were cute and cuddly bears of love, but there was a few (mainly in the scene where they release Han and company from the net) that looked live demonized evil bears of hate and death.
  8. HAHAHA I love that conversation!!!
  9. I like to draw it out, so I will find Espionage to find out which planets in the sector have a construction yard and a shipyard. I'll take those planets over first, then go system-hopping to each planet, taking it over. I usually have two fleets doing this. I'll also have a few diplomats to work the systems over into acceptance of the rebel occupation. Then, when it was all said and done, I would invade Coruscant. I'd destroy the fleet in an epic space battle, then sabatoge the heck out of the shields, then perform a military bombardment to weaken the troop garrison. The, I would send down someone to do espionage to get a final assessment of which personnel are down there, and then abduct them one by one. Once they were all imprisoned, I would finally invade and conquer. Too many times I would just invade a random system without espionaging first, and it would spell disaster as some people would escape, including some important people (like Han or Luke). So now I always perform a last spying mission.
  10. I enjoyed Superman Returns. Wasn't as good as Batman Begins, but aight.
  11. I truely hated the Gungan race. Give me some cuddly costumed teddybears over a bunch or retarded computer morons any day. Also Dex and his diner in AotC. What the heck was that?! In fact, why must GL bring todays society into the prequels? Between the NYC-esque diner to (like Tex said) the Japanese-like Neomodians...ARG!!!! I don't think I have any qualms with the original trilogy (except for the SEs). But I think we all have a place in our hearts for a little bit of hatin' at the prequels.
  12. There is actually a funny video my friend taped from one of the parties when I attacked her. Ill have to tell her to put it on youtube.
  13. @Tofu- That's old news you have already mentioned. You're boring me by repeating yourself. @Turtle- I feel your pain. I used to work at Walmart in the cash office before I went back to school up here. But the others used to tell me stories that were totally disgusting.
  14. The thinking of these "rebellious colonials" most definitely would have brought about the change. Now here's an interesting what-if. Lets say that its the late 18th century. Many people in the American colonies are speaking of rebelling against England for one reason or another. The colonists hold several meetings and delegations, and in the end, it is decided to peacefully continue to petition the King and Parliament rather than go into open rebellion. It may have taken awhile, but in the end, England would have given in and granted independence. Like I said, it's just a change in times. The King would eventually have to listen to thousands upon thousands of his subjects pleaing for independence.
  15. My girlfriend's sister hates napkins and refuses to use them. If I throw one at her she flips out and runs away. Shes 17. It's funny. The best is when I blow my nose with a tissue, then take a second tissue, crumble it up, and throw it or place it on her, so she thinks its the dirty tissue.
  16. Yeah the cheerleader is sort of like the X-Mens Wolverene, where she can regenerate herself. The one time she got pushed onto a metal fence post which impaled her, and she "died". When the body was put on the autopsy (sp) table, and the doctor removed the spike, her regeneration kicked in shortly after. Though by this time the autopsy was done, and her body was lying cut half-way down and her organs removed, but all that regenerated itself. Its a pretty sweet show.
  17. Just a debate we were having in my French Revolution class. We were trying to see which revolutions throughout history were warranted. And here's another thought. I feel that with constant petitioning and peaceful demonstrations would have eventually been granted independence without the need for a revolution. The 18th century was still during the "age of kings" when colonialsim and mercantilism were still commonplace. All the European powers were going through this massive feeling of nationalism, and were trying to accumulate more wealth for themselves in order to provide for an expanding population, as well as to create massive armies/ navys. Colonies and such were neccessary during that time. If you look at today, very few colonies (that are tied so strongly to the mother country) exist today. It's just a part of a change in the times.
  18. My job is making me po'd. I had 2 days last week, and just one day this week. I complained to the manager yesterday, and he's like, "uhhh, the schedule got erased and the other manager tried to re-do it, but messed up". If I dont get my 5 days back next week, they shall feel my wrath!!!!!
  19. @ JH- I forget what battle, but that is true. It was in the southern campaign, and after the fall of Georgia. The exact battle escapes my memory.
  20. Now the way I see it is that the American Revolution was not warranted. The founding fathers used John Locke's belief of natural born rights to spell out the rights of the American citizens. Locke believed that people were born with the right to life, liberty, and property (was later changed to "pursuit of happiness by Jefferson, I think). He also felt that the government's role was to protect the people's rights, and if the government denyed the people these rights, than the people had the right, or were obligated to, revolt against the current government. That being said, in retrospect from what I have looked into, the English government was not overly-tyrannical on the colonies. The problem was in the fact that the British government did not fully govern the colonies until after the French/Indian War. This is known as salutory neglect, where the British government imposed laws and tariffs on the colonies, but did not enforce them. After the FIW, Britain turned its head once again to the colonies and began to enforce its laws, like any government does to its people. The fact that the British ignored the colonies for so long and then suddenly began to enforce their policies there (to pay off debt from war) angered many colonists. Its just that the English government's taxes and tariffs in America were not tyrannical enough to warrant a revolution. The colonists did not have a direct vote in Parliament, but Parliament spoke for them (though the colonists disagreed). The people of Britain were being taxed also in order to pay for the cost of the war. And as far as economic tariffs and sanctions, government's need to regulate the trade throughout their domain. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that the United States is a bad thing. I love it, which is why I am focusing so much of my studies on it. I just feel that, at the time, the English government did not tread on the rights of the colonists in order to warrant a violent revolution.
  21. Heroes continues the season tonight, as of right now. Pity I cant watch it due to no cable. Blah. I'll just catch it tomorrow.
  22. Ok, here's an interesting question. Was the American Revolution neccessary? Did the colonists have the right to rebel against their King? My 2 cents- no. At the time, I don't feel that the English government's rule over the colonies warranted a violent revolution.
  23. That was great, but not as scary as Tofu
  24. I'd love to make a comic about Rebellion. Like how "Darth Rob" takes control of the Empire, orders Vader and Palpy around, and succeeds on destroying the Rebellion without enduring an Endor fiasco.
  25. The X-Wing series was quite good. It was nice to get away from the same usual faces and focusing on new and rather behind-the-scenes characters.
