  1. May 4th was my 2-year anniversary on this site. Yay.
  2. So what exactly is unencyclopedia? A site like wikipedia where you pretty much put up the most randomest, retarded stuff you can think of? Is it supposed to be a mockery?
  3. i grumbled too. i wanted to see the Devils lose. i actually watched the last game (it was on a weekend) and was rooting for tampa.
  4. When you see him next time, throw some pencil shavings at him for good measure. He deserves it.
  5. Yes, I was happy to see the Devils lose. But I was sad to see the Rangers lose today. But I am not frustrated or upset or angry. They played some good hockey, and should have won game 5 (if not for some bad calls). They got pretty far, and I am pleased with their accomplishments.
  6. That was some pretty neat work J.
  7. Actually starting this past season all the teams play eachother at least once. So all the teams in the Eastern Conference play each team in the Western Conference once a season. And it is assumed that the best team in each conference will be in the Stanley Cup. So if Ottawa gets to the Cup, and so does Anaheim, it is because both those teams proved to be the best team in the playoffs, and thus represent the best of each conference.
  8. Tell me about it. Those two are both just so uber powerful!
  9. I think its the last week of May. Im too lazy to check it out now to verify. Edit: I got over my laziness. Pirates comes out May 25 here in the states.
  10. Well, it comes with the Sports pack (baseball, tennis, boxing, bowling, and golf), and my girlfriends parents had bought me another disc that has 7 games (I know there's billards, ping pong, and some army tank game, not sure about the others yet- haven't played). I plan on snagging Zelda once I scrape up an extra $50. I'll be getting my income tax refund soon, and then I'll be off to snag some more games.
  11. More Spoilers Below: Continue at own risk I understand where you are coming from with the lack of villian character development. Three villians were too much. When I first saw the trailer, I assumed that Brock would bond with the symbiote only at the very end of the movie, and leave him for part four. Then I saw the trailer where they showed bits of Venom and Spidey fighting, and I said, "well, maybe its only a small battle". But when I saw Venom and Sandman team up, I shook my head. I also shook my head at the origin of the symbiote. I assumed that it either was going to come from Jameson's son (who was an astronaut, and returned from space in the second movie), or that Norman Osbourne had created it as a weapon, and Harry had found it and released it on Spidey. I didn't like the random meteor thing. And I also didn't like how Venom referred to himself as "I". It may sound stupid, but in the comics, he always said "we", referring to how much of a hold the symbiote was a part of him. Brock and the symbiote had a very strong bond, which wasn't as apparent in the film. Some can argue that maybe it was too soon to include that strong of a bond, but I don't. But I did enjoy that they included the symbiotes weakness of sound. I enjoyed the ending where Spidey trapped it in the makeshift cage. That was something I could see him doing in the comics. I didn't like the "New Goblin". Harry ended up being lame, and the worst part is at the end when he comes to his senses and decides to help Spidey. I was actually happy with his death. I loved Norman Osbourne's character (as both Norman and Green Goblin), but Harry was a bit annoying at times. Im glad hes gone. And as Stan Lee said in the film, "nuff said." But all in all, I liked it better than the second film. I did not like Doc Oc's character at all. He was totally unlike his comic book self, and of course he had to go and redeem himself at the end of the movie. But the second film, having just the one villian, still lacked good character development in my opinion. As far as the Sandman, I was happy with him. I felt he was well developed, from his origin to his (unfortunate) redemption. His character looked exactly like his comic persona (much like Jameson does), and wasn't an all-around bad guy, where you feel pity for him. And I loved when Harry burned him with his glider, making his arm turn to glass. That was classic. In all, of course I have problems with the movie, but I still enjoyed it best. The first film was great, but was the "origin" film, so Peter and Spidey were not as developed yet. And I found the second film to be the most boring, mostly because Doc Oc sucked. But by this film, Spidey has been very well developed, and he was portrayed execellently with the symbiote suit (though only as Spidey- "emo Peter, as Tofu said, was very annoying). You also see how struggling Mary Jane is in finding work, for it is tough for her to get a steady job in the comics also. Sandman was a great addition to the film, and was the best portrayed villain (as in closest resembelence to the comic counterpart). Venom, while sort of disappointing, was nevertheless a welcome and highly anticipated last-minute addition, but I dont regret it (espicially since he will return since they didn't show his actual death). But this film was definitely the most action-packed of the three, with Spidey facing three villians, dealing with the symbiote suit feeding off his anger and frustration, and Peter's rocky relationship with MJ. Great movie.
  12. The movie was pretty awesome. Of course I have a few contenuity issues (being a Spidey comic buff at a young age), but it was definitely the best of the three in my opinion. A must see for all!!!!! PS- The next movie I look forward to is Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At Worlds End. I like the fact that the world is "flat" in this movie.
  13. Update: I walked into the EB games in my gfs mall, and the display boxes for the Wii said "coming soon", so I assumed they had none. Then some random guy goes up to the clerk and says "do you have any Wiis?" I laughed to myself, ridiculing the stupidity of this man's question. But to my utter shock, the clerk said "hold on and I'll grab you one from the back." So I stopped him and said "if you have another one, Im sold." And sure enough, me and the random man got the last two Wiis. They had received four in as their shipment. So Rob has finally gotten his Wii. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. I could very well do that, but if he was to find out he would be none to happy. I might try and get a roomie for the Spring. Then again, a 2-bedroom apartment to myself is nothing to scoff at.
  15. I definitely think that ESB was, hands down, the best of all 6 films. I enjoyed ROJ for the Emperor, and I dont mind Ewoks. At least they weren't based on discrimination of races (like Gungans or Neomodians)...
  16. Oh yeah. It was off the hook. And the best news is that it was confirmed a while ago that the new there will be a second season. That will be fun.
  17. Ive never seen that pic animated. I feel relieved.
  18. Turtle, Im shocked to hear a Canadian say they dont follow the NHL!!! And there is definitely a need for playoffs. It helps determine which teams had the most successful seasons, and then plays them against eachother in elimination-style (usually best of 7) rounds to see who the last man standing is. And all the pro-sports have two leagues just so that there isnt too much going on at once. Now I dont understand or like the MLBs leagues. You have the American and the National leagues, both of which mean the same thing (since the majority of the MLB teams are in the US), and they are just randomly chosen as to which team is in which league. Its retarded! Now the NHL was smart. They have a Western Conference (all the teams more west of the US and Canada) and the Eastern Conference. This helps promote rivalries, which makes the game better to watch. Then they got real smart and developed the idea that each Conference would have 3 divisions, and the teams in each division would play the majority of the games against eachother. So for example, in my division (the Eastern Atlantic) you have 2 NY teams, 2 PA teams, and a NJ team. These teams constantly play eachother, and the fans love it! I love to watch the Rangers take on the NY Islanders or the NJ Devils. It gets the fans alot more riled up, and it creates alot of fun in families. For example, in my family I am a Rangers fan, my dad and cousin on Long Island are Islander fans, and my other cousin upstate is a NJ Devils fan. So we are constantly talking trash to eachother and sending random emails and such. Its great! Sorry for the tangent. I just got real excited.
  19. Gosh you're a lazy punk too! Don't you have the patience to sit back, relax, and fully emerse yourself into a beautifully-produced film??? When I sat back to watch Lord of the Rings, I lost all concept of time. I didnt sit there and say, "man, Im tired of all this sitting. Is it done yet? Why are they still walking around?"
  20. JH, what mystery state are you from where there are no state pro-sport teams??? I assumed it was Texas (with your Spurs rooting), so I say root on the Rangers (MLB), Cowboys (NFL), and Stars (NHL). I know you said you liked Calgary in NHL, but I forgot where that thread was, and am too lazy to read it again if it confirms your location.
  21. GOSH!!! All you punks complaining about sitting still for 3 hours to see a movie!!! I was able to watch the Return of the King extended version (I think it was 4 hours) in one sitting! Stop your bellyaching and enjoy the show!
  22. Well, he called me three more times today while I was in school, so I called him back after classes. What happened is that the girls upstairs wanted to screw him over, so they didn't do much in the way of trying to find replacement tenants for their apartment next semester. So he has no one lined up to rent it (despite the fact that he told me he had a bunch of people waiting to see it back in the day). Also, since he couldnt get students to rent it next semester, he doesn't want to rent it out as a full-time place for non-students, because he likes to use it as a vacation place over the summer, which is why he only rents to students. So to make a long story short, he offered me the apartment simply because no one else was gonna take it. He will charge me the same price ($2000 a semester) to have the whole place to myself. He will be doing all the repairs over the summer, and since the Department of Health was called in, they will have to do an investigation before the fall to ensure everything is up to code. So I wont be doing any repair work on it. I guess he figured that if no one was gonna rent the upstairs apartment, I mine as well. And I will attempt to get a roomie for the next spring semester, where he will then knock my rent down a few hundred for that semester. All in all, as long as the flooring is repaired and safe, Im gonna take it. Most of the problems I have in my current apartment are all cosmetic/comfort. The only real problem the girls had was their fridge and the floor, and they bought a new fridge a few months ago after the thing died. So as long as the floor is nice, I'm sold. In case I didn't mention it, the things lacking in my current apartment that I would get in this next apartment are: a living room (right now my apartment pretty much has one room that is a kitchen/living room/study area), a stove (right now I have to use a hot plate and the toaster), cable tv (I have to watch DVDs from my lappy or watch tv shows off the net), a kitchen sink larger than 2inches, and ceilings higher than 6feet (its not a prob for me since Im like 5 1/2 tall, but my friend came up last semester, and he hit his head a few times). So thats that. Gosh I had alot to say.
  23. That is such an amazing site.
