  1. Sorry, that's because when I started most of the releases were imperial ones. 'Tis all about ballance, you know
  2. Left-clicking once or twice on either 3PO or IMP22 didn't work ? That's weird, it always does for me. I recall UD once said the tutorial wouldn't be heard on the hard difficulty setting.
  3. Thanks for the tip, Paul. I have to get my hands on this cd as well Die Ärzte - nie wieder Krieg, nie mehr Las Vegas (live)
  4. *whistles* If it's as stable as version 5 and you can easily afford it (or someone would want to make you a useful xmas present ) then I'd call it a bargain
  5. Sadly, that's an issue, that's quite visible with some models. I think Rebellion's lighting engine is responsible for this, since the position of the planet also seems to affect it. But if you look closely at some of the original models, you'll also notice that fault there as well. I seem to recall, that the INT had it as well for example.
  6. Mad, I won't correct you. Scath, you're right. 21 was the normal guy, with the AT-AT avatar. 22 suddenly got ... totally weird. But why dwell on these sorry episodes of our forum's past ? They are over and it's certainly better that way.
  7. -60 ... I love the smell of posting in the morning Sure, anybody in his right mind wouldn't think of using such a name, assuming, that it would've been a coincidence. But then again, we are talking about MS and some of the stuff their programs do just doesn't seem like the product of a healthy mind to me at all I'm interested though, if they manage to weasel their way out of this and just let the "normal", less financially secure people pay for their wrongdoings.
  8. IMHO, that's the best album they ever made, Paul Well, as I already wrote somewhere else it's Iron Maiden - the number of the beast for me, atm.
  9. Ohh, you can be so cruel, Scath For no apparent reason I began hearing Iron Maiden's Number of he beast in my head after reading this post
  10. How 'bout the unofficial version, Imma, then ? But I know what you mean, as soon as it takes a twist towards bureaucracy, law or medicine for example, the length words grows exponentially.
  11. Hmm, I do recall your name, you must've left about the time when I signed up. Welcome back, you'll see, that a lot of stuff has changed
  12. The door opened and all Krytos could see was a little penguin, that squawked once and looked at him. Krytos released a sigh of relief and turned around to head for the command center, when he heard a voice behind him. "Yo, psst, Mister. Wanna buy one of these ?". Krytos scratched the back of his head and made "Hmmm..."
  13. Good man, but I forgot that Stalin's first name also ended with 'f', sorry.
  14. Nah, my prof just said I should write to discreet with a copy of my student "passport" (dunno the word for Immatrikulationsbescheinigung right now) and they'd write you back.
  15. If you can, get version 5. I'm using the same one and from what I know from TK, 6 seems to be quite unstable. Dunno about 7, though. But 5 should be cheaper
  16. Yes, I can tell you, that this has nothing to do with Rebellion. XP doesn't even parse any of the autoexec files by default, IIRC. Try opening the file with a text editor, like notepad and tell us what's inside it
  17. As long as I've been here I saw two people being banned, rightfully that is, cause what they said wasn't pretty in the least. The other guy just deleted all his posts manually. T'was a childish attempt to vent his anger and also to slow down work on the Reloaded TC, where he was briefly taking part. 'Nuff said. This is a peaceful place and I also love it the way it is.
  18. Btw, Paul: that creep was called Adolf. Well, I liked the last one best, but I also recall another one from Stalin, that also shows how much everyone reverred life back then. A single death is a tragedy, a million merely a statistic.
  19. Ah, now here I have something, that I found on my latest aquisition, the special edition dvd of Monty Python's the meaning of life. Eric Idle gives this short poem as in introductionary speech. Because there might be younger members reading this as well, I left out the words, that could be found offensive. If you have trouble figuring out these missing words, ask one of them younger members, they'll tell you what fits into the gaps There's everything in this movie, Everything that fits. From the meaning of life in the universe, To girls with great big t... . We've got movie stars and foreign cars, Explosions and the lot Filmed as only we know how, On the budget that we've got. We spent a fortune on locations And quite a bit on drink And there's ever the odd philosophical joke, Just to make you buggers think. Yet some parts are as serious And as deep as you could wish But largely it's all t... and a.. And quite a bit of fish. Other bits are fairly childish And some are frankly rude But at least we've got a lot of nice girls All banging around in the n... . So take your seats, enjoy yourselves And let's just hope it's funny Because it's not only done to make you laugh But to make us lots of money. So sit back and have a good time With your boyfriend or your wife Relax and just enjoy yourself For this is the meaning of life What else can I say, except: this is sooo deep
  20. ROFL Must be a faulty clone then. Monty Python - the galaxy song
  21. Well, that's another important lesson then. I save my stuff every ten minutes, or if there's something finished, that I don't wanna lose. Hitting that shortcut CTRL-S certainly won't hurt
  22. I know, WWII fills up about 70% of history lessons in Germany. But since you wrote 'german americanism' that implied that this was something, that Germans would've said, if my logic isn't impaired by the late hours and lack of caffeine.
  23. * cough *
  24. despite what you just wrote, I'd just like to point out, that you can't render animations or even pictures in gmax I do most of my stuff with 3dsmax 5, but choose gmax for the tutorials, since everybody can afford it. If you're looking for cool effects, like the firey explosion for example, try the free tutorials at 3dcafe.com
  25. * yawn * objection, doesn't make sense. Why would Germans not rather have had their own Panzers at their rear ? Also, how this should be what you call "German Americanism" is anyone's guess, but then again I find politics boring and don't think it's worthwhile to spend time with debating about that
