Is the LAN cable ok ? Can you copy files back and forth between your pcs without problems ? Are either/both of you running a firewall ? Are you connected via a router/switch ?

Well, I never had to use the compatibility mode for Rebellion. Perhaps you should change the resolution to 640*480, though. The game can't do 800*600 If that doesn't work, what video card/driver are you using ?

Yes, there are a lot of nice sigs out there in the forums. Some are more rarely used than others, though Although it's a large one and my dial-up took me a while to get it, I nominate GAT.

Doesn't CoD use the Q3A engine ? That'd be an awful lot of animations to rig to your models. But you could try to contact some of the guys at polycount. If it's based on Q3, they can handle it. (http://www.planetquake.com/polycount/)
