MIne crashed for the first time yesterday...well, sort of. It didn't really crash, instead a a few Macedonians got stuck in side the siege towers which left my men running around, trying to find a way to get at them; ultimately, they couldn't and I had to manually end the battle. Additionally, I notice that when I play for a few hours continously (about 3), the game stops using the sound effects for when people talk on the main map. For instance, I'll have an army go in a direction on the map and instead of "Yes, sir" or "Imperator", they say nothing and merely move. The same goes for diplomats, spies, and assassins.

I know what strategies and tactics to use in order to defeat the geeks.

This weekend there is a Roman event in Knoxville, Tennessee (USA) where the History Channel will be filming scenes for a new documentary concerning law and order in the Roman Empire. I'll be there dressed as a Praetorian Guard carrying the infamous "scorpion shield" of the guard while getting paid $50 a day. So basically, I'll be getting paid to play! The weekend after that will see Castra Romana in South Carolina occur, a small yet fun event open to the public (unlike the History Channel's event). As soon as I can get pictures from one or both of the events, I'll be sure to post them.

I certainly do not blame present Germans for what happened 60 odd years ago. I am admirer of German 'Kultur', French cuisine, Italien food and wine etc etc etc. You have just missed what I'm getting at, that the EU in my very humble opinion has gone quite far enough. From an original coal/steel economic treaty ( post war ) between Germany and France it has mutated into a money consuming monster that wants to 'control' us. Well, I don't know the word for walk off the top of my head, but I can tell you this: the verd will come last (thus, walk should come last). "We walk among you" should translate into Latin as "Among you walk we" with we as the third conjugation ending for walk. If the infinitive of walk is ambulatio, then "we walk" should be ambulatimus (again, IF ambulatio is the infintive for walk). Going with that, it should be Inter tu amulatimus, though I could be wrong since, again, I don't know the Latin infinitive for "walk."

Sadly, not anything with the numbers you saw in the pictures (we had a total of 50-60 Roman legionaries; there were numerous civilians and gladiators about, as well). This past event was the largest Roman re-enactment "get together" that has ever happened in North America. In Europe, though, the groups tend to be large and are paid, thus they get together quite a bit and hold full scale wars for weeks at a time. I wish I could participate... ... I've got an idea!

Of course. And, like everything else, it's made period authentic (wood frame, glass lens from Han China, and leather film). Back then they were called Kodakus camerus, which is where we get today's Kodak cameras. All of this through my legion commander, Dan Peterson, who is a consultant for the company that makes all this stuff and, thus, can get me a pretty good deal on all of it.

The only problem I have had with mods is that there are people who make good, accurate mods...and then there are people who make crap. Simply put, I'm a tad weary about doing, though it would be interesting to see someone make a map that extended past Mesopotamia and into India and eventually Han China.
