Huh? No, Costa Rica is in the tropics so its warm all year round...I doubt it get 35. EDIT: Also, Jahled, that problem with your account staying login happened to me too...well...sort-of. I logged off last night and when I got back on this morning I was still logged on...regardless, I typed in my account name and everything and attempted to log in...and it worked....

Sorry for double-posting, but I am SO confused! Okay, so I got down how to use RebEd to replace cards...that's cool. The thing is, I put the Dominator SD card to replace the Imperial Assault Transport, so I obviously wanted to change the assault transport's model to that of the Dominator. So I downloaded the Dominator model and the mod exchange file made by Jahled, Trej, mask, and a few others. I then went ahead and followed the instructions and was quite pleased when the program said I had successfully replaced the Assault Transport with the Dominator. So I went into RebEd and clicked on the Dominator's Capital Ship entry, sure enough there it was...then I clicked on the 3-D/Tactical model view...there, spinning as though mocky my efforts, as the Assault Transport model. Now it is 42 minutes past midnight, Lando has handed Han over to Vader in Cloud City, and I think I've totally screwed up my game (it's okay, if I have to I'll uninstall everything and start over). The question is: WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?! I'm SO confused! What do I do? What have I done wrong? Basically, all I want to do is replace what ships I think are basically worthless with really cool ships people have made, but I can't figure it out! Additionally, how am I suppose to know which card goes with which model from the downloads? For instance, there are a few Allegiance-class Star Destroyer cards, but only one model. Which cards goes with the model? Same with the Dreadnaught, the Eclipse, the Sovereign, the Carrack, the Lancer... Is there some way to clear this up? Is anyone willing to help a fellow SWR-er how is lacking sleep and will probably end up trying to fix it himself to only find his computer exploding in his face while he comes to find out that Boba Fett's real voice is actually tinged with a New Zealand accent! --burn-out-- EDIT: I had a dream last night that everytime I opened Rebellion or RebEd, Leia would walk by my door saying, "Saul, don't! It's a trap! It's a trap!"

Ever driven one? They're quite a bit of fun! A car? Yes, a Delorean? I wish Only Back To The Future. ...wait, what?

Perhaps add a bit of commentary the individual cards saying what makes it different from others (for instance, what makes on author's Eclipse SSD different from the others...).

I tried that but I have the funny feeling he's not recieving them, and I can't find his other address. Perhaps we should make a forum devoted to getting him back....

Which means what when I download a file from this site? Which is?, and found where? Okay, that makes more sense. So what's the difference between character and troop cards? How do they differ so I can tell them apart when tweaking the game? Also, to write longer texts than the game provides, I have to do something with the dll files, correct? What is it? How? Should I contact Mask rather than confuse myself some more? EDIT: I have a few cards now, but do I also have to download a corresponding mod with it to change the image in tactical view?

Man, you must be new! We already have that by the dozens!

It'll be interesting to see what everyone makes...maybe even the WOO YAY master himself will whip-up some Zootful laughter. By the way, Darth-Griffin, I very much like that image!

The very same reason I wanted to have it archived in a special archive forum. Oh, and I also noticed someone corrected the title after all these long years. Actually, it's sad because it sort-of loses its old BEAK-yness. Speaking of BEAK-yness, has anyone heard from Scath?

The deed is done. Yes, I know it was a cheap way of doing it, but I already tried making a serious effort, I might as well resort to "cheating".

I know this basically seems like a bump/spam post, but I believe it is important that way new readers will be able to reference. If anyone is still looking for Imperial ranks, check this thread or read back a quite a few pages. BEAK

Perhaps we could make our mascot a Yuuzhan Vong?

Hmm...I may get one. Especially considering the fact that my kid sister backed my brand new, silver 2004 Suzuki Verona into her, used-to-be-my 1996 Dodge Neon!

This may seem out of place now that everyone is talking about something else... I come here for: 1) The beer 2) The fun 3) The friends 4) The posts 5) The Spam (maybe not in that order...) ...okay, okay, the real list: 1) Forums 2) General SW News 3) SWR content

Animated GIF: How about half of a TIE Fighter pilot's helment and half of a Rebel pilot's helment, then it changes to become half a stormtrooper and half a Mon Calamari, then it changes to become half an Imperial officer and half Han Solo (or some other important person or thing), then it changes again and says "SWR.Com." Ehh? We could always use this. It could work! But really, the first paragraph/run-on sentence was serious, though it would be rather funny to put that particular GIF right before or right after the "SWR.Com"...as an expression of our community (and its utter maddness). Yes, I did steal that from Jahled.

Have you tried coaxing them with food? Perhaps some prisoners to capture or spice to sniff would do the trick? Yes, I know I am of no help.[/spam]

I was beginning to wonder where that went. So, the idea about the LAV Regiment, does that really require anything special? Is that even considered a card? And to clear-up a few things, a mod is a "model"...or is it a "modification"? Does it take something different to swap-out ships (such as switching, say, the Star Galleon for the Allegiance-class?) or is that done with RebEd (sorry, it's been a while and I'm not at home looking at my computer)? Additionally, would this require a different program other than RebEd? I also came to realize that cards are different types of files (some will be .rmx and some will be something else...I can't remember the .whatever right now), does this make a difference when uploading the cards? If so, how and to what extent does it change the process through RebEd? Please, any help would be great. Again, how long have I been here?... Apparently not long enough. Damnit, where's Scathane when I need him....

Quickly addressing the original topic, for those who don't want to follow the link posted on the first page, here are the ranks (please note that the enlisted ranks for the Empire are not 100% clear). Please also note that the ranks, from left to right are from the following military branches: Navy, Army, Starfighter Force. Additionally, any ranks with question marks (?) in front of them denote a rank that may or may not exist. This is in no way based off the USA's rank system but is more of a compilation of ranks, the specific tiltes being chosen because of their universal meaning (i.e. simply Brigadier versus USA's Brigadier General, etc.). Also, this does not include the Moff ranks because they can be either or both military and civilian (if they were included, they would fall under Grand Admiral and above High Admiral and would list, from bottom to top, as Moff, Grand Moff, Supreme Moff...also note that it's quite possible Supreme Moff was at the same level as Grand Admiral). Lastly, ranks are arranged from highest to lowest (top to bottom) and have spaces between the different classes (Recruit are simply enlistees while in training, Junior Crewman through Fleet Chief Petty Officer are enlisted, Midshipman/Cadet are officer candidates while in training, Ensign through Commodore are commissioned officers, Rear Admiral through High Admiral are flag officers/admiralty, Grand Admiral is special...like the USA's five-star). Grand Admiral/?Grand General/?Grand Marshal High Admiral/Surface Marshal/?High Marshal Fleet Admiral/High General/Force Marshal Admiral/General/Chief Marshal Vice Admiral/Lieutenant General/Marshal Rear Admiral/Major General/Vice Marshal Commodore/Brigadier/Commodore Line Captain/High Colonel/(none) Captain/Colonel/Group Captain Commander/Lieutenant Colonel/Wing Commander Lieutenant Commander/Major/Squadron Leader Lieutenant/Captain/Flight Lieutenant Sub-Lieutenant/Lieutenant/Flying Officer Acting Sub-Lieutenant/Second Lieutenant/Pilot Officer Ensign/(none)/Acting Pilot Officer Midshipman/Cadet/Cadet Fleet Chief Petty Officer/Warrant Officer First Class/Warrant Officer Chief Petty Officer/Warrant Officer Second Class/(none) (none)/Staff Corporal/Flight Sergeant (none)/Staff Sergeant/Chief Technician Petty Officer/Sergeant/Sergeant Leading Crewman/Corporal/Corporal (none)/(none)/Junior Technician (none)/(none)/Senior Spacecraftman Able Crewman/Lance Corporal/Leading Spacecraftman Ordinary Crewman/Private/Spacecraftman Junior Crewman/(none)/(none) Recruit/Recruit/Recruit Again, the enlisted ranks aren't confirmed, just some speculation (since Star Wars rarely gives us any character who are not officers). I could get into a long discussion about ranks, why they are the way they are, where they come from, sources, insignia, and so forth, but the Grand Imperator of BEAK won't spread BEAK unless provoked.

Why remove them? Why have one thread? I think after a thread gets long enough it warrants the creation of its own forum (at least for a game), and if that forum dies out we can move it towards the bottom to make room for more active forums .I agree. Along the same lines as Trej was saying, I think maybe we should make an archived topics section, only it we could also include some of the most popular threads of all time such as "Animated GIFs" and "Beeing Promoted In The Forums", many of which have long and exitensive discussions that are quite useful as reference material.

Okay, I've been around for more than 2000 posts and, yes, I have no clue about Rebellion editing nor cards (I have a basic understanding of what a card is, but nothing 100% for sure). Cards are the images and what-not used for characters and vehicles and so forth in the game, correct? And by using RebEd, one can replace some of the default cards to put in new ones, correct? And how long have I been here? So, for instance, I could download, say, the Allegiance-class card from the site and all I would have to do is use the magical RebEd, replace a starship, and, boom, I have the Allegiance-class in the game? Is this correct, or am I that ignorant? Also, I am terrible at making any images (if mentioned this before), so I was wondering if anyone would mind making a new Thrawn card (that's if I even understand what a card is) using this image in place of the old one. Subsequentally, would anyone mind then explaining to me how exactly one goes about replacing the original with the new.... And maybe someone could replace the Pellaeon image with a better one (though I have yet to really find one...perhaps in the image on the CCG collector cards?...)? Also, I had this crazy idea about making an "Imperial LAV Regiment" (LAV standing for "light-armored vehicle" as a support unit for the regular "Imperial Fleet Regiment". Basically, it would be less powerful than the regular "Imperial Army Regiment" (a heavy armored vehicle regiment, in my opinion, since it carries AT-ATs and AT-STs), consisiting of older, faster vehicles like the "TIE Crawler", Chariot LAV landspeeder and Speeder Bike, and AT-PT (All Terrain Personal Transport). I figured it could work like support units for the lightly-armed Imperial Fleet Regiment or as basic support for the Stormtroopers that are already in the game. If anyone is up to the challenge or willing to coach me along and be annoyed out of there mind by stupid questions coming from a less than computer-minded person (i.e. me), then please...um...I guess post or PM me.
