  1. 1.Behind the scenes, Naboo architecture and some ship aspects appear to originate from what well-known Science Fiction Book Series? Which book in the series contains what resembles the Naboo design schemes? 2. In Episode IV: A New Hope, what was the name of Mark Hamill's stunt-double? 3. In which film does sound effects designer Ben Burtt make an appearance? What part did he play and what were his lines?
  2. ? Was *spam* that *spam* a response *spam* to my *spam* last post? *spam* It was *spam* spam in *spam* three different *spam* languages.
  3. Does IA2 plan on adding any indigeonous units? Last time I checked the site, I couldn't find a list of flora/fauna/props/buildings being added anywhere...
  4. 1.Will AoSW add any KOTOR flora and fauna such as the wraid, kinrath, Selkath, Kath hounds, Dantooine flying manta, Tach, or Rakatan? 2.Ahto City Map for manaan? 3.Do you have working models for Revan, T3-M4, and HK-47 yet?
  5. Try editing the proton beam particle's color, and then use it as a hardpoint. And change damage, of course. (En) Steiner; I watched the video you made, and I liked your projectiles. How did you edit the code to allow the laser to attack multiple ships at a time?

  7. True. This should be in a New Republic mod (as a new faction), rather than added to the Rebels. But its a good idea IMO.
  8. The ending of FoC ties into the KOTOR series due to a short cutscene. It appears that the next exp. pack willl involve hundreds of carbon frozen sith troopers. Unless they add more KOTOR units than that (a rebuilt Star Forge or a carbon frozen Revan) I really don't see the point.
  9. What kind of animations are allowed for avatars? (gif, flash,...?) DYK that Clancy Brown is the voiceover of both Mr. Eugene H. Krabs of spongebob AND Jango Fett's rival Montross from bounty hunter? Montross Krabs: "I'm on the hunt...for me Krabby Patties! Argh!"
  10. Devs focus too much on content and too little on functionality these days. Just look at KOTOR II; sure, they added some cool new aspects to the gameplay (such as more weapon upgrades), but the game was full of bugs (not to mention the whole missing droid factory thing)
  11. So they took out the juggernaut? that stinks...I thought there were screenies of it and everything. Wookiepedia states that the executor has an ability called "launch ties". What abilities does the executor have (galactic, activated manually, tactical, etc.)?
  12. Well it should come out because Kreia sets the scene for a KOTOR III at the end of KOTOR II with her "fortune telling". Revan is supposed to return from the shadows when the time is right, and a climactic battle will ensue.
  13. sorry; I was just using it as an example. The cruiser's design origins are pending, anyway. (that was written before I found out the Legacy was entirely uncanon) One thing I'd like to see changed in FoC has a lot to do with balancing. SSDs should be tougher if they can be taken down with a "standard fleet"; the Battle of Endor was much too difficult for the Executor to be taken down by a few Y-wing and B-wing squadrons. And it was won by chance (what were the chances that an A-wing would come crashing through the command bridge window anyway?) PS: plz check the rest of the story via the link in my sig before reacting to it too harshly; you may find its a lot more canon-based than it seems. i'll start a thread later about what I brought up before I take this thread any further off topic :-[ Note that BFII is considered canon; though it conflicts constantly with the SW saga.
  14. In that case, the SSD in FoC must have been dumbed down alot; If it were that weak, then the battle of Endor would have been much less daunting to the rebel fleet. And the price thing was a bit of an exaggeration; my point was just that it needs to be a really expensive unit.
  15. 1. Does it make a new game folder, or use the EaW folder? 2. What stats do the Executor and the Eclipse have? 3. What Clone Wars Era things are in?
  16. These are game errors, not human errors. Even Yoda's help desk hasn't heard of my problem before! I never said it wasn't easy to mod; I'm saying the system is fragile. When I COULD mod EaW, It WAS easy to do so. This has nothing to do with variables; The game runs for about 5 minutes, then reboots the PC. Thats without mods. I even made a custom folder. In the future, please do not label people as lazy, or that they're blaming their own mistakes on the game when they bring up an issue with the program in question. This isn't super mario bros. we're talking abut here ("But I pressed the "b" button; I PRESSED THE "b" BUTTON YOU #$%^*@ GAME!" *throws controller across room* :). Computer programs are MADE to have problems; hence entire businessess made for the sole purpose of repairing PCs. Not to mention that the more high tech games get, the more patches are released.
  17. I have a ship...its supposed to be a rejected prototype Legacy design. Its called the Loyalist Its original name was the Patriot; given by the Republic Navy. During a test of its experimental bombardment capabilities over Manaan, the partially functioning cruiser slightly smaller than an SSD was ambushed by a CIS fleet. Under the direct command of general Grievous, the fleet annihilated the CIS Fleet and shot the Patriot out of orbit. It sank to the bottom of the Planetwide ocean; settling across part of the Hrakert Rift. The crew tried to repair the cruiser in hopes of escaping, but eventually, all fell prey to Firaxan Sharks. Palpatine ordered that a new ship be constructed, leading to the Legacy that is more commonly known. It used the same project title to prevent the dicovery of the original Legacy Prototype. Years Later (during the GCW), with the help of the Selkath, the Patriot was freed from its watery grave by Captain Artenon and the N.L.S.S.F. (Naboo and Local Systems Security Forces). It was then repaired and modified, and re-christened "The Loyalist". It took part in a Horrific battle in Naboo's orbit, where it severely damaged the Executor, causing it to retreat. Though the battle would have been a major loss for the Empire if it had carried on, the then commander of the Executor was punished for retreating by Darth Vader. I made the original model out of Legos; it looks awesome. Inpenetrable Hull armor make it ideal for bombardments, and is equipped with two planetary grade ion cannons (different than the Hoth one). Its deep hull allows for enormous carriage capacity, and has a porportionately enormous Command Bridge. I'll put up pictures of the lego model; my dream for it is that someone will eventually want to model/skin it. Ships like this should be uber-expensive, take uber-long-to-build, and take uber-population-points; So theoretically you could build hundreds of them, but they're way too expensive and impractical. The other option is to make them heros. (only one)
  18. That's sort of good to hear... sort of because EaW won't work anymore >(again) :'( seriously, it very ironic that modding a game that's supposed to be easy to mod causing severe errors in the game. 1upD's also had problems, as well as Clone_Commando over at Filefront forums, and a bunch of people here as well. If I got FoC, would it fix my EaW problem? Would it start anew (does it use completely different folders than EaW)? (Part of the problem has to do with folder recognition. )
  19. Make SSDs really, REALLY expensive (as in half a death star expensive). And they should take a REALLY long time too build. Therefore; you can build however many you like, but you won't want to build very many. You decide the fate of the galaxy in the game: what if the Lusankya or the Terror were never built? what if you constructed a new SSD? It depends on how you play. Tip for Rebels; make entire Fleets of Correllian Gunships; their ability to penetrate shields quickly is invaluable; make the hangar your primary target so you can cut off their garrison.
  20. I had a similar idea; you don't create your own character, you follow the SW saga. It could work like this: CW era series: Knights of the Galactic Republic GCW era series: Knights of the Rebellion New Republic era: Knights of the New Republic you switch between characters for key conversations and such. and for special missions. EX: you are Leia on the Tantive IV. You must reach the escape pods. You reach the pods and give R2 the plans. switch characters Leia is no longer in your party; you now have R2 and 3PO; R2 as the temporary party leader (you can choose what he says; 3PO responds to him) get aboard the escape pod. (cutscene; Leia is captured and "Where are those transmissions you intercepted?") Tatooine map loads Your outside the pod. 3PO and R2 split up; you switch player control back and forth for important events. Homestead map loads. You must Persuade Luke (as 3PO) to purchase R2. If successful, Luke is now in party as leader. bonus mission opportunities That sort of thing; interspersed with bonus missions and cutscenes to make timeline evident. But KOTOR III will be made; its just a matter of time; like BFIII Every SW game series (historically) has had either one or 3 games in it (rebel assault series, rogue sqaudron series, Jedi Knight series, Rebellion, Force Commander, Republic Commando, Battle for Naboo, etc.) They've never stopped at 2 (Clone campaigns doesn't count 'cause it was only an Expansion Pack; more like a mod than anything else) I think there should be an RTS that has more SW eras and factions; Rakatan Era, Sith Era, CW era, GCW era, NJO era, Vong era, etc.
  21. I suppose they think for some obsurd reason that FoC covers that... They should make a Thrawn or Vong era expansion. Or how about a CLONE WARS era expansion?! The one 100% canon thing that had movie time left in the SW universe! Ever think of that, Petroglyph and Lucasarts? > To date, there is not ONE Clone Wars Era RTS (as without it being modded into it). SWGB only had Episode II stuff that was rendered incorrect or obsolete by Episode III (No useable Venator or Acclamator either!).
  22. I was just saying it would be nice for modders if Lucasarts and Petro included it; at least a model with icon and animations.
  23. I was mostly referring to the "vaguely" part KOTOR I was phenomenally better than KOTOR II IMO; very well thought out plot, and no missing ends. And the animations matched conversations better. Last time I checked its all rumors; Obsidian will prob. have to make one sooner or later. All that is known for certain is that: 1. For PC(?) and XBOX 360 2. Revan and the Exile should play large roles. (I say should because I'm doubtful that Obsidian will think that much about continuity; Kreia mentions something about a final battle where Revan will return from the shadows) 3. HK-47 and T3-M4 will be in. 4. Bao-Dur should be in (Kreia says his fate is unknown) Marketing wise, they have to make a third; to date not one SW game has ended on one sequel; its been either one or three per series. Now, according this this logic, they may also be planning BF3 (Hopefully they'll add in the mixing of eras that a large majority of the fanbase wanted). Anyway, lets just hope they focus on good side quests and an intriging storyline with a good ol' star warsy feeling to it. As for Eaw...I wouldn't play the campaign of the next one, just use the units; they'd better add sith fighters, HK and T3, Revan (fully armored), Sith Cruisers, SIth freighters, and, most importantly, the Star Forge (even if its an unused XML; like the "Jedi Cruiser" or "the Virago" were in EaW. Since this will focus on the SIth, they prob. won't add any KOTOR Old Republic ships.
  24. Trust me; they won't. And Obsidian'll mess up KOTOR III, too. (Revan is male and Exile is Female according to developers - they took the easy way out. :)
