Re: The Unofficial Bar Spam Thread! Come Spam With Us!

Thanks, but you did check the TSL EaW site for 1upD's mod updates, right? Ever heard of the Star Wars Rap? "Ahh! why'd ya cut off my hand?" "It is imperitive that you understand: I'm your father! I'm your father! I'm your father!" ;D -
How's this for the next couple stanzas? Was like nothing that they’d ever dreamed Then they got caught by its tractor beam And then Luke did scream They were stuck like tape In the hangar did land the ship Our heroes gave them the slip For the smuggling compartment lids the technicians did not flip While Obi-Wan made plans for escape

FoC has bugs This, combined with the trouble of mods having to convert everything and this being the mid-school year (at least in the US) slows progress dramatically. at least 1upD's mod is going well...(link in my sig - is at TSL EaW site) -
It's Keeper's conversions... of EvileJedi's models.

At the same time, however, we don't want KOTOR III to be too much like KOTOR's plot. The sith should be more interested in other characters; or maybe all of them at once. And maybe some party member changes half-way through the plot (perhaps a member is killed and replaced by another one later on)? Also more opportunities for other party members to be party leaders temporarily (like with Mira in KOTOR II on Nar Shadaa).

He's the commander, then? "Inform the commander that Lord Vader's shuttle has arrived." sounds like a good mod for an early attempt. sort of like a couple of mods I've made. (once I tried to made a commander squad for Ackbar using the Mon Cal model, but he won't deploy )

Another factor you're forgetting is the Dark Side's shrouding their judgment. On the Invisible Hand, Obi and Anakin fail to predict the ray shield ambush. "How did this happen?! We're smarter than this!" -Obi Wan "The Dark Side shouds everything." -Yoda "I fear our ability to use the force is diminished." -Mace The collective Dark Side energies of the Emperor and Anakin blinded them. It clouded their foresight, and their judgement.

It's a little different each time they perform the skits. There are at least two slightly different VHS versions of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. “Ha! I fart in your General Direction!” BTW Monty Python reference in Matthew Stover’s literary adaptation of the Episode III Screenplay: It’s a reference to the Black Knight: “Get up, ya pansy!” “Come back here! I’ll bite your legs off!” How much spam would a Hamchop chop if a Hamchop can chop spam? "Hmm...Meditate on this, I will." -Yoda -
Juhani would have to be replaced if Revan went Dark side. If you join Bastila on Rakata Prime in KOTOR, you have to kill Juhani, Jolee, Zaalbar, and Mission. One more thing; someone mentioned that KOTOR III should accept new models. KOTOR could already do that; I saw a screenshot of Revan wearing full clone trooper armor. Apparently it was a mod. …unless it was a bonus item from the Yavin IV space station in the PC version (which I do not have)? Allright, perhaps Revan and the Exile could be like the Jedi Masters in KOTOR II; very involved but not in your party. It would still be nice to have them as party members at some point, though.

In the book, Kit Fisto's death took much longer. Sesee tiin died first in the book. Palpy:Master Tiin; your a telepathist. What I am thinking? (Tiin bows his head in concentration-and within miliseconds palpatine decapitates him, catching them by surprise) quite true. I remember when I got slapped in the face once; I was so shocked that I couldn't even respond. Notice the discussions between Cody and Obi-Wan; they're suposed to give you the feeling that they trust each other with their lives. Same goes for the rest of the army. Note the shock on Mundi's face when he looks at the clones; if he did sense anything, he would never have thought it was the clones. He would have attributed it to the threat of the fight. And then their's the effect of battle; Yoda felt the deaths of the other jedi because he wasn't fighting. This also explains why he could sense Commander Gree coming up behind him. As for Windu, how would you react if your hand just got cut off? You can hardly fight if you lose your lightsabre and your hand, though he wouldn't have screamed as long. Luke was younger than he was, and he just gave a short cry of pain and then winced until the end of the movie. One thing I don't get is why the Emperor always lifts his hands slowly and then shoots lightning. Especially in the senate chamber scene ("Now you will experience the full power of the Dark side!" -3 second count- *Zaps yoda with lighning. Yoda doesn't see it coming* :-\?

The History of the Spam Quoth http://www.spam.com/ci/ci_in.htm: Use of the term "spam" was adopted as a result of the Monty Python skit in which our SPAM meat product was featured. In this skit, a group of Vikings sang a chorus of "spam, spam, spam . . . " in an increasing crescendo, drowning out other conversation. Hence, the analogy applied because UCE was drowning out normal discourse on the Internet. In the belated spirit of thanksgiving, let us give thanks to John Cleese and the whole of the British Broadcasting Company. And let us toast to this tribute...with spam. ;D Bridge Keeper:"WHAT is the top velocity of an unlaiden sparrow?" Arthur: "African or European?" Bridge Keeper: "I don't know that! AUUUGHHHH!!" All hail Sir "He who is not appearing in this film"! ;D -
I think your sig is pretty cool. Signature: 8

Avatar: 8 Creative, yet simple concept. Did you take the cat pictures yourself? If yes, then 10. What's in front of the cat's face?

You sick, disgusting person... Have you lost all compassion? Don't you get it? "Art imitates life as life imitates Art." While the characters are made up, aspects of the story are real; and have been repeated throughout history. :'( And if you're just joking then you have a sick (as in cruel, not cool) sense of humor. :'(

Thanks, but I prefer the way I set it up so far. He wasn't searching for Revan and the Exile; he wasresearching them. Maybe this analogy will help; Let's say you're doing a report on the Dali Lama and that you live in California. Are you actually going to go to Asia to find the Dali Lama? No; you're going ask someone else who knows about the Dali Lama, or check online or in a book. The same principle applies, except instead of the Dali Lama the padawan is researching Revan and the Exile.

Yeah, sometimes old people can get the "I'm older and know everything you don't" sort of thing going. : My grandparents are really cool though. The old ladies I was talking about in my first post were probably of the same mindsets of the people who burned "witches" in salem some-odd years ago. the "witchcraft and hp are evil so I won't let them wwatch it" type -
Sorry if the quoted post was confusing; I was in a hurry. Vandros is a Historian. Like Thrawn, he values information, particularly History. Being his apprentice, history would be high on his curriculum. Remember that in KOTOR I, you were also a relatively new student, and Master Dorak told you quite a lot about Revan and Malak. Vandros just tells you a bit more, having known the Exile and Revan better than other members of the Jedi Council. Nice suggestion AT-AT Controller. I'll see how I can incorporate that idea... Again, thanx for the feedbak; i really helps my writing process.
-
I just had another idea: What if Casus Fett (mentioned in an armor description in KOTOR I) was included somehow? He disappeared, and was presumed dead...now he's out for the bounty on your head (Revan, the Exile, etc.) He (or she?) wouldn't be a main villain, but it would still be a nice tie in (but still not important enough to seal the matter of finding a powerful tie-in to end the series).

Remember that this is George Lucas we're talking about. RARELY is he ever NOT metaphorical. Nothing is for the heck of it in his movies. Besides, what could be better than a metaphorical special ability? -

I'm not going to delve too deep philosophically here in fear of angering any super-fundamentalist-christians here (or the people who made "Election Wars") but I have to disagree. LOTR, SW, Harry Potter, etc. are based on key story elements of ALL Religions and Mythologies - From the trials of Hercules to Hindu beliefs to Christianity. For example; The Hindu god of destruction has four arms, resembling Grievous in basic shape. One part the story of Luke skywalker actually draws from the story of the Greek Phaeton, son of Helios, Greek god of the sun. Order 66 bears resemblence to the Norse "Ragnarok", where the gods and the giants fight in a great and terrible battle. Brother against brother for greed's sake. All is destroyed, except for the slightest hope (in SW this would be Luke and Leia). Did any of you know that GL consulted with philosopher Joseph Campbell when creating the story of the SW saga? In Bill Moyer's interviews with Campbell (who died several years ago) collectively known as "The Power of Myth", Campbell describes Lucas as "his favorite student". -
Again, as both I have and AT-AT Controller have said; the memory loss is dreadful; and including Revan and the Exile DOES NOT REQUIRE MEMORY LOSS. And I care about Revan and Exile being in your party because it FOLLOWS CONTINUITY. Play the battle with Darth Traya again; and listen closely when you ask her about the future. She mentions that the Republic will fall, but that it will be a long fall (most likely referring to The Rise of Palpatine's Galactic Empire). She mentions that eventually, all that will remain of the Mandolorian customs and lifestyle will be the shell of a man in the shell of his armor (This is either referring to Boba Fett or Canderous; more likely Fett given that he is a mercenary, and that Canderous despises that life and is more likely to hold onto Mandolorian traditions than Fett.) And she refers to a "Great War" that will occur in the near future. She tells you to follow Revan into the Shadows in the Unknown Regions, to fight the impending darkness, and that you and Revan will one day fight in this "Great War that is to come". When you ask about Bao-Dur and the Droids, she tells you their fates are uncertain, and not yet decided. On the other hand, she tells you how Mira will die (defending a planet somewhere; at least for Light side variant), that the Disciple will have a seat on the Jedi Council, that Atton "will always remain a fool". I don't remember what Visas' future was... Therefore, it would be tossing out a lot of potential story and gaming prospects to simply discard Revan and the Exile from your party. Think about it; wouldn't it be even MORE frustrating if LA/Obsidian/Bioware/whoever makes it simply says "Oh, I want this to happen to Revan, completely contradicting any options the player may have chosen in the past - and then I'll call it canon! Muah ha ha ha ha!" BTW; 2953 Total Signatures so far on the petition for Bioware and Lucasarts to work on KOTOR III together! (the link's in my sig)

good song there. -
I forgot about that... But the point is that something significant needs to come about at the end. Something that ties in with the rest of the saga in a big way.
