When will the game be available for purchase? Will there be a "server" charge? (or similar charge?)

You have much to learn about internet forum ettiquette. You are being excessively rude. As for the bold writing, at least AT-AT READS . LONG LIVE BOOKS! Have you even READ them? If not, don't judge them. And finally, who's the more foolish? The fool? Or the fool who follows him to forums and starts telling people how to run their lives. Someone, PLEASE BAN LORD DAIRY PRODUCT. Thank you. As for AT-AT's comment, Here's what I know for sure: 1. GL has already said that he won't include too much EU content because he doesn't want to favor one over the other, resulting in being pressured to make more films. 2. A Star Wars Live action TV series is starting up late this year, set between Episodes III and IV. 3. If EU books are adapted to film, it'd most likely be a TV show; it'd flow better anyway.

Cheeseman; STOP FLAMING. He's not saying the force is real. He's making a hypothesis based in a fictional universe; for the sake of discussion, I might add. Some intersting discussion topics about star wars physics: 1. Hyperspace. Hyperspace is impossible in real life if it means going at the speed of light. This is because nothing travels faster than light. Think of it this way; We have jets that fly faster than the speed of sound. In "Star Wars: Where Science meets Imagination", the author explains that technically, the speed of light beat the speed of sound in their flight. It made sense when I read it, but the full explanation is about two paragraphs long. I'd retype it, but I'm tired right now. However, lets discuss what happens when you assume that Hyperspace doesn't actually reach the speed of light; instead getting very close to it. 2. Lightsabres. To understand the idea behind lightsabres, you have to understand what people knew about lasers in the 70's. Several statements in various sw books suggest that star wars lightsabres are made possible by a misconception about plasma (lasers, lightning, etc.). The error was that it assumes that two equally strong beams of light cannot pass through each other. The other thing is the fact that you would not see a lightsabre unless you were in a fog or similar air conditions. As an analogy, when you use a flashlight, you don't see a beam of light coming from the device; you see a circle on the targeted object. This being understood, discuss it anyway because its interesting.

Re: Random Model Request(s) (56k might have problems)
Logan Felipe replied to Droid803's topic in EAW Mods General Workshop
I have a very simple request. I need someone to: a. send me the TIE Phantom model 3ds format*. b. attach TIE Bomber pods to a TIE Phantom Hull as in the Pic below. http://www.gamed.nl/messages/32095.jpg+http://www.thenextfuture.nl/users/alexander/Empire%20at%20War/Review/tiebomber.jpg=http://www.imperialassault.com/rote/forums/uploads/post-22-1156556342.jpg *I have FoC, but lack a modelling program that can change the format of a .alo to a .3ds (I use Wings 3D). -
Those posts by 1upD and Omega look weird next to each other... Mainly because they have the same avatar; for a second I thought 1upD was talking to himself. What does this "construction pod" look like?

Re: New Units Ideas
Logan Felipe replied to Star Wars Godzilla Ruler's topic in EAW Mods General Workshop
Variants of existing units in EaW and FoC EX: *REAL Marauder corvette, as described in the essential guide SW vehicles and vessels. Uses the same model, but slightly different skin with new code. *Rebel Action IV transport that serves as a...Transport. Like the acclamator. New skin, possibly new armament. *The Hyperspace Marauder. -
Its a filler unit. Keep in mind that the Marauder never had diamond borons either; they were used by corporate sector authority, and had four fixed turbolasers.

This is a new low for the military; gaining popularity for the Air Force by sponsoring a tournament where you could win a game system... Tsk. >

I was thinking the one in V where Vader is standing at the Bridge. Even if Vader's at the Center. Big ships don't work too well for this because the shots are way too fast. Then again, none of the flybys could be achieved in any vehicle.
-
a bit close up and off center, IMO. But the graphics used for it are quite good. Look at RotS and ESB for better views of the ISD Bridge.
-
EvileJedi, I had a question; Have you considered making your take on the Mandalorian Dreadnought? Its the ship that the Republic/Galactic Empire Dreadnought was based on. I don't think there are any existing pics of the Mando version; what do you think it would look like in your opinion?
-
I think that might be it...

It does say "CustomMaps". That was a typo in my post. They still won't show up... > Would the fact that a copy of the folder and its contents are present in the Gamedata folder cause any problems? ???
-
where does the custom maps folder go to make custom maps playable in skirmish? Its in EaW/Gamedata/data right now, and none of them show up in "custom maps" when I play.
-
Which will be the default?
-
I like the alpha for the mon cal ships.

Naboo Land Transport (appeared in the "Battle for Naboo" Video Game as "Commando" transport). http://z4.invisionfree.com/The_Sith_Lords_EaW/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=5587724 The doors on the side weren't in BfN; I added them because without them, noone would be able to get into or out of the vehicle. Viewport highlighted in red. 162 polys.

That last one is the Lambda? Oh. I thought it was the X-wing. So I guess I'm saying the lambda is better.
-
The X-wing works best, IMO. It is the contemporary to the TIE Fighter, whose cockpit is used in EaW.
-
Not really... Unless you're good at voice imitations.

[reminder] This is turning sour; just post your beliefs (if you want) and read silently. NO FLAMING. And posts like: (insert religion here) ALL THE WAY!!! YEAH!!! Are starting to get a little...irritating. Please don't yell, we can read just fine. Posts like: (insert religion here). OR I'm a(n) (insert religion here). OR I'm a(n) (insert religion here). (breif, unbiased explanation). are much more 'Flame' retardant (less likely to get people to flame). Thank you. [/reminder] [irrelevant statement] No, he is not. Obama was raised Muslim by his father, but is currently Christian. [/end irrelevant statement] Aetheist with a sprinkling of Jediism. I recognise that fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, etc. I have a different take on the "there is no death; there is the force" line than most followers of Jediism, however. And I believe that the only destinies are self-fulfilling ones. (In ROTS, the point was that Vader CHOSE to turn to the dark side. He was not destined to do so. That's why Palpy even blatantly says "You must CHOOSE!" in the movie). I think people should be held responsible for conscious actions and decisions. I also believe that much of art is meant to serve as analogies to real life. I am a pacifist, not to be confused with Passivists, who are often apathetic and lack the ability to defend themselves (verbally or physically). I also do not believe in absolutes (note that this statement implies that even the statement itself is not absolute).

Perhaps we could become the new Nexus*. the old one has been defunct for awhile now. That would draw people (we'd have to change the title and our sig/affiliation campaign, though). Perhaps get a new flash anim? (points to the EaW promo flash anim in the header) *By Nexus I mean for a wide variety of games. Since this is swrebellion.com however, we should focus on star wars and other science fiction game mods/resources/etc.

Re: Which Star Wars episode did you like the most?
Logan Felipe replied to admiral boty's topic in The Bar
I'd have to agree with the bold statement. particularly order 66. I'd say ANH. The effects weren't really flashy, but they were remarkable for the time. It revived the special effects industry after it had been abandoned in the 60s. It has a real classic feel to it; and contains the famous Star Destroyer chase. And it was closest to what George Lucas wanted: A B film with cutting edge effects (i.e.: Flash Gordon in 3D animation). "We all knew it [star wars] would be a success. We just didn't tell George because we wanted to see his facial expression change." -Carrie Fischer -
