  1. Yes, unfortunately. Thanks for the feedback. The key to a good story is a lot of brainstorming. I've been thinking on this idea (as well as several other, later era storylines) on and off for about a year. http://swfanon.wikia.com/wiki/Recinzione This link describes Vandros and Valdras a bit; though its meant as backstory material, so its not as extensive. (There are some links there to other fanon Articles I've made as well.)
  2. One day I saw this show on PBS. Very late at night when noone watches Public Broadcasting (as if they watch it alot anyway). It was called "Finding America". A bunch of old Grandmothers in the Deep South of the United States were burning SW videogames, Harry Potter books, and a few LoTR games; all in one of those ToysRus toy bins. When interviewed one of the old grannies said, and I quote: "We're saving our grandchildren." I"M NOT KIDDING!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! WTH is the World Coming to?!?!
  3. I think people wouldn't care what level they are as long as they're in. Who cares if their only level 6? It would take away the fun if you made them level 50. And as to your comment about full armor, what did you think of my suggestion on how the player can choose what Revan and the Exile looked like? Light side Revan wouldn't be wearing it anyway. Fans would be disappointed if they didn't get a chance to have characters from all three games interacting with each other. Its not our problem that Obsidian backed itself into a dead end. Now they should have to solve this the hard way by listening to fan suggestions. Personally, I'm not even thinking of buying it until I know if its ruined or not. If they fudge the story line and take it on a completely different tangent, I'm not buying it. WHO'S WITH ME? > I think they should drop the max level down to either 20 or 25. 50 is too high. When I played the game, I found myself spending way too much time on levelling up with the Hssiss Dragon Glitch instead of enjoying the game. Glitches are the anti-fun factor.
  4. What are the categories for Ratings? (creativity, comedy, detail, etc.) ???

  6. That statement doesn't make sense... Have you played KOTOR II? They are SUPPOSED TO BE in the game. KOTOR III is supposed to be about the fate of the Jedi and the Republic; the Great and Terrible War, and the final emergence of the True Lord of the Sith. This true lord of the Sith's apprentice will end up being the first in a line of new sith; the "rule of two" comes into play. This line of new sith will lead to Darth Plageous and Darth Sidious 4000 years later, from master to apprentice. Kreia says that Revan has gone to fight the Darkness in the shadows, and tells the Exile to go as well. KOTOR III should be about the True Lord of the Sith emerging from the shadows. Revan and the Exile follow him/her out of the shadows. KOTOR III SHOULD be like Darth Krayt's rise to power in the Legacy era. "We manufactured a cause for war, making the Vong seem responsible. Split, the Galactic Alliance began to fight itself. And so died." —Darth Krayt KOTOR III should resemble the Rise of Darth Krayt; The Republic is exhausted, and the True Sith has come to take his throne; the Mandalorian War having weakened the Mandalorians and the Republic. And I rather like games that unfold like movies; with an interesting storyline, etc. That's what KOTOR is about. Unless I'm misinterpreting your grammer, I don't know why you would think that's a bad thing. Some of the best games feel like movies when played. If the alternate endings and KOTOR II not seen the Deaths of Jolee, Mission, Juhani, and Zaalbar, then I would say they along with Revan should have been in. Wildcat's right about SW not introducing too many new characters. the only character added in the main group of Rebel characters was Lando. KOTOR II brought in way too many. But KOTOR II is already made now; to change it 180 degrees would be gameplay suicide. Anyway, the point is this; Bastila and Carth must be in. After the Battle of Telos in KOTOR II, some guy tells you that someone wants to talk to you. It turns out that Carth and Bastila have requested to speak with you. They ask you if you've seen Revan. They tell you that if you find Revan, you should contact them. The point being that they will rejoin the party with the return of Revan. Revan and the Exile will not break the game. Exactly. you have to find them as you fight the sith; sort of like KOTOR II's plot, but much better. Though I think the Exile should be in early, like in my fan-fic.

Your quarters contain a workbench, a large window, a bed, and a Large locker (containing some credits, your lightsabre, 2 medpacs your padawan robes, a comlink, and perhaps some miniquest related items). You go through a quick beginner's tutorial. Instructions are given by Vandros via comlink. He tells you to meet him in a training room of the academy once you've learned all the functions of the game. You have a full map of the academy. (On the way to meet Vandros, you have some mandatory discussions with other students. These discussions should serve to determine certain outcomes of historical events; there are no "wrong" answers to these questions, it'd be sort of like the Atton discussions from KOTOR II.) After leaving your quarters, you eventually come to a corridor. Blocking the corridor are two young padawans, perhaps around ten or 12 years old (1st one’s a Human and second one’s a Drall), arguing about the history of Revan. 1st padawan: “…No, no; that’s not true. Revan returned to the jedi after his capture. 2nd padawan: “No, you’re wrong. He returned to the Dark Side and used the Star Forge to continue assaulting the Republic.” 1st padawan: “He? What are you talking about? She was a woman”. 2nd padawan: “Was not.” 1st padawan: “Was too.” You: a. “Um…sorry to interrupt, but would you please let me through? I don’t want to keep master Vandros waiting.” OR b. “I’d hate to break up this immature bickering you two have got going here; but do you mind? I’m going to be late for Master Vandros’ training session.” (They see you, and, knowing that you are Vandros’ apprentice, ask you to help settle the debate with your knowledge of Revan.) 1st padawan: “You must be Vandros’ apprentice. Perhaps you can correct my colleague here? He seems to think that Revan was a man, and didn’t return to the light side of the force.” You: a. “Well, first off, Revan was a man.” OR b. “Well, first off, (1st padawan’s name) is right; Revan was a woman.” 2nd padawan: “Then what about Revan’s fate?” You: a. “Revan returned to the Jedi and rejected the Dark Side.” OR b. “Revan betrayed allies and returned to the Dark Side.” (If a.) 2nd padawan: “Ah; must have been thinking of that exile. Can’t seem to remember his name…” (If b.) 1st padawan: “I see. Perhaps I was thinking of…oh, you know the jedi who went into exile after the Mandolorian War. What was her name again? You: a. “The exile you’re referring to was a man. He fell to the dark side under Darth Traya’s influence. His name was…*” OR b. “The exile you’re referring to was a woman. The Twi-Lek is working at a datapad. He asks you for assistance. Again, this is mandatory. Since your character is fluent in Huttese as well as basic, you can understand him, and your name will appear as text in the conversation. Example situation: Twi-Lek: You: a. “What do you need?” Twi-Lek: You: a. “Wouldn’t it be easier if I just entered their descriptions into your datapad manually?” OR b. “OK; I’ll start with Revan. Revan had two eyes…” (If a.) Twi-Lek: (If b.) Rodian: You: a. (Enter Character creation screen) You enter a screen that resembles the character creation screen. The apprentice is the same age as your self give or take a few months. You are to have a practice duel with the apprentice. Halfway through the battle, your opponent manages to knock your sabre (the color of which is determined by your jedi class) out of your hand. You now have two choices: L. forfeit the duel. D. get angry with your opponent and continue attacking, this time turning up the power of the lightsabre from practice mode to full power, which can kill an opponent. If you choose L, you are praised by Vandros for not giving in to your anger. The other apprentice admires your self control. you both receive light side points (up from grey). If you choose D, you wound the other apprentice, and Vandros and Valdras knock the two of you away from each other with force push. Your lightsabre is taken away by Vandros, who is disappointed with your actions. The other apprentice develops a grudge towards you. you both receive dark side points (down from grey). Suddenly, the roof of the large, circular chamber collapses in a fiery explosion. the debris separates you and the apprentice from the others. Vandros reaches you via comlink and asks if you're allright. He tells you that you have to reach the Main docking bay, and escape using one of the academy's shuttles (the same type of shuttle seen on Telos in KOTOR II). If you chose L, you have two choices: L1. Help the other Apprentice escape to the Main Docking Bay. D1. Tell the other Apprentice to find his/her own way out. If you chose D, you have two choices: L2. Help the wounded Apprentice escape to the Main Docking Bay. D2. Tell the wounded Apprentice to find his/her own way out, leaving him/her to die with his/her injuries. L1 and L2 grant lightside points to both you and the apprentice. D1 and D2 grant Darkside points to both you and the apprentice. Commanding them is Darth Daevok, who is conveying orders from his master, the Sith Lord (a surviving member of the Sith species) who has orchestrated the Mandolorian Wars and the Jedi Civil War from behind the scenes. He and his apprentice have at last emerged from the shadows. The sith forces spread throughout the academy, killing countless padawans as they search for Valdras and Vandros. end cutscene You find a footlocker containing two training vibroswords, 1 computer spike, 1 security spike, 5 antidotes, and 5 medpacks. There is also a stealth belt (collecting the contents of the footlocker initiates the stealth tutorial). You can either unlock the door via the terminal, or by using security on the door. when you reach the Main Docking Bay, you are met by a dark jedi apprentice armed with a standard red lightsabre with a squad of 4 sith troopers armed with various blasters. They are guarding the Main Docking Bay. The dark Jedi is pleased by the opportunity to fight you, as you are an apprentice; you will be much more of a challenge than the padawans he's already killed (If you chose L1 or L2, the other apprentice will assist you as a party member. If you chose D1 or D2, you will fight them alone, and there will be only two sith troopers accompanying the Dark Jedi). start cutscene Once you defeat the Dark Jedi, a squad of 6 HK-50 droids advance towards you. You are outnumbered, and Vandros and Valdras are nowhere in sight. You have no hope of defeating them. Suddenly, a very familiar freighter swoops down to the landing platform, it's laser turret blasting the squad of droids to scrap metal. The Ebon Hawk lands, dropping its boarding ramp. end cutscene Bao-Dur runs out to you and tells you to get onboard before more sith show up. You say something like "What about the other Jedi?" His response will vary: If you chose D1, Bao Dur wil tell you that your one of the only jedi left, and that they have the other survivor, Valdras' apprentice, whom they found at the secondary landing platform, on board. If you chose D2, he'll also say that she/he's receiving limited medical attention on board. If you chose L1, he will tell you and Valdras' apprentice that you are the only surviving jedi in the temple. If you chose L2, he’ll also notice that Valdras’ apprentice is wounded, and tell him/her that the crew can supply him/her medical attention onboard. Start cutscene The Ebon Hawk lifts off from the landing pad and heads for open space. Smoke billows from the ruins of the jedi academy, and landed sith ships are visible. (cut to The Sith Lord’s apprentice; who is still inside the academy) A Dark Jedi urgently reports to The Sith Lord’s apprentice that a small freighter that was sighted entering the atmosphere during the battle is trying to leave the planet. A 7th HK-50 droid had arrived later than the other six, and had spotted you boarding the craft. After hearing this, the Sith Lord’s apprentice is furious. He force crushes the Dark Jedi, letting the corpse drop to the floor. He immediately orders the orbiting sith fleet to intercept the Ebon Hawk. End cutscene load Ebon Hawk map start cutscene (in space) The Ebon Hawk has just left the atmosphere. A sith Cruiser moves in to intercept the freighter, deploying its first wave of sith fighters. The fighters lock s-foils in attack positions and begin to tail the Ebon Hawk. End cutscene Bao-Dur tells the Exile (who is part of the crew) that they can’t jump to hyperspace because of the sith cruiser. The Exile decides to use the main turret to disable the Sith Cruiser’s scanners so that the Ebon Hawk can make her hyperspace jump. If they don’t, the sith willl be able to track the Ebon Hawk’s hyperspace coordinates to her destination. Load “turret” map Bao-Dur will fly the Ebon Hawk in a pattern around the cruiser. You are the Exile at the gun turret. Your job is to destroy the scanner system (which is located atop the Command Bridge) as well as any fighters that threaten the Ebon Hawk. Once you complete this objective, the Ebon Hawk may enter hyperspace. Start cutscene The scanning center erupts into flame. The contents of the top bridge level are sucked into the vacuum of space. As the Ebon Hawk moves into position to make its hyperspace jump, sith fighters attempt to trail it. Just as the sith fighters are about to close in, the Ebon Hawk’s hyperdrive activates, en route to Ithor. (Cut to the academy ruins landing platform) Vandros and Valdras Artenon board their Republic starfighters and make their escape, leaving the atmosphere undetected. They plot courses for separate planets until they can safely contact the Republic. (end of specific idea) Party members (by the end of the game): 1. Carth 2. Bao-Dur 3. Bastila 4. HK-47 5. T3-M4 6. 8. Thanks. Oh. But the idea being that the jedi you speak to speaks huttese. I was thinking that your main character should have to rely on others for translation. IOW, Your Party Leader can only speak, say, Huttese and Basic or something. This would prove more realistic, given that not everyone in the Star Wars Galaxy knows every language. That'd be like someone on Earth knowing every language on Earth! This would mean that you'd need HK-47 early on in the game (and NOT deactivated this time please). When he or other characters who speak more languages than just basic are not present in your party (Its actually quite hard to assemble a party without any characters that speak more than one language) What species other than Hutts speak Huttese? I know many Dugs speak Huttese... Perhaps Duros? I think they speak Huttese in KOTOR and KOTOR II. Either that, or "moo-lee-Ra" (pronuncuation) is a universal word in the KOTOR series. I think I remember a Rakata say "moo-lee-Ra", come to think of it. An idea: A Dug Jedi in your party?
  9. Nope. they're taking a break for a while. (sorry; I couldn't resist ;D) Does AoSW have KOTOR characters only? Or does it also have KOTOR II characters besides Nihilus?
  10. True. The novel also emphasized that discouragement was also a factor. They were equally matched. For centuries he'd been training jedi to fight the old sith; but palpatine wasn't like the Old sith. In short (no pun intended), Yoda was trying to fight fire with fire. The fact that he could not beat Palpatine depressed him. Organa: "Master Yoda, are you injured?" Yoda: "Only my pride..." -ROTS novel Yoda: "Into exile I must go. Failed, I have" -ROTS Another impression FoC gave me was that it had very little to do with anything canon in the SW universe. We can only hope that FoC is not to be considered canon by EU writers... :-\
  11. I don't have spyware. It used to work; I made three pretty good maps and was working on my Hrakert Rift map when the problem occured and invalidated the map. I was almost done with it! :'(
  12. In KOTOR II, when you talk to Atton in his cell, that conversation determines whether Revan was Male or Female, and what his/her alignment will be. If KOTOR includes Revan and the Exile, PLEASE include something like the discussion with the Rodian that I suggested, developers of KOTOR III! ;D Party members suggestion (revised): 1. Bastila 2. Carth 3. Revan 4. the Exile 5. Bao-Dur 6. HK-47 7. T3-M4 8,9,10. three new party members (a Selkath, Ithorian, or Rakatan included; as long as the backstory is good.) 11. Main character
  13. EXACTLY! That was what I was thinking. For Example; you are at the archive of a jedi temple. Your master is a Historian who has fought in the Mandolorian War, and was once a Master to Revan before he turned to the Dark Side. He has told you much about him. Your master had also fought alongside the Exile during the Mandalorian War. This setup allows for some options: Your fellow students will have mandatory discussions with you; similar to those with Atton in KOTOR II. Example situation: Blocking the corridor are two young padawans, perhaps around ten or 12 years old (1st one’s a Human and second one’s a Drall), arguing about the history of Revan. 1st padawan: “…No, no; that’s not true. 14. Umm...what's adware? (I probably know; but I don't recognize the term)
  15. http://pff.swrebellion.com/index.php?topic=3829.0 Thrawn, you mentioned that the highlighted paragraph (see first post in linked thread) didn't make sense. I've made a couple edits and added a few details, but can you tell me what you found confusing about it specifically?
  16. True. However, this makes a very difficult situation for programmers; as NPC dialogue would have to be even more vague. Though with the right storyline, it could work out quite well. An easier option would be to just add a few party members of different species (and I mean like Selkath or Ithorian, NOT another Wookie)
  17. I think I accidentally saved the map. That would explain why it rebooted the computer immediately afterward. When I play EaW (or use Petro's ME), it works for a maximum of 10 min. with ME, If I place any buildings, it works for about 30 seconds. After these times are up, the PC reboots, and invalidates your last save on the map. However, if I open the autosave version and save it, and then close ME before it reboots again, the file doesn't get "corrupted" (no pun intended). So, theoretically, I could still make some good maps, but it would take FOREVER and be a real pain in the backside. > And this was this EaW map Editor. My concern is that the new map editor would refer to old reg files, and not fix anything. This whole map editor thing is the reason I've put off getting FoC; it'd be a waste of money if I bought it and the prob. still existed (rebooting). :'(
  18. The whole "cannot detect non-presence" thing. Can't use Map editor anymore (so far...)
  19. There's also Bothans, Ewoks, Sullustans, a few [Missing]s, etc.
  20. Don't get me wrong; I thought Bao-Dur had some great potential for development. Atton and Kreia had significant character progression, as Atton grows to trust you eventually with influence, and Kreia grows with you with influence as well. I just would like to learn about the characters over time so that you care about what happens to the members of your party. When I played KOTOR, I didn't choose the darkside options because the characters actually seemed that they had feelings; like characters in a well made movie. The reason I don't think most of the new KOTOR II characters should be in is because they aren't supposed to be playable. The key statement is at the end of KOTOR II with Kreia's visions of the future. Besides, the only characters left from KOTOR in KOTOR II were Canderous, HK-47, and T3-M4. Party members suggestion: Bastila Carth Revan the Exile Bao-Dur Atton(?) HK-47 T3-M4 Canderous(?) New main character a few brand new party members (I've always wanted to see a Selkath, Ithorian, or Rakatan in my party; as long as the backstory is good. Perhaps Moza, an Ithorian, from Telos?)

  22. The plot should focus on the "great war" Kreia/Traya mentioned in her visions of the future at the end of KOTOR II. Revan and the Exile should be party members at some point in the game. Canonically, Revan will be male and the Exile female. voice for Revan should be the same as in KOTOR (If your character is male, he has a standard male voice for when he attempts tasks like slicing doors and planting mines. Sort of what JA did with Jaden's voice) My idea (some specifics): Text Crawl Intro cutscene start 3 Sith Cruisers approach the planet Arborfrost. 2 of them split formation to secure other areas of the planet. D1 and D2 grant Darkside points to both you and the apprentice. You head for the Main Docking Bay to rondevouz with Valdras and Vandros. start cutscene A cutscene plays involving some dark Jedi leading Sith troopers into the academy through the breached wall of the training room. You encounter a computer terminal and a locked door. the appropriate tutorials are available on the terminal. (end of specific idea) -create your own lightsabres (just like the last game, except that the parts are much easier to find. Each lightsabre you make should have a casing design that at least a little distinctive, rather than just a smooth cylinder. Just select a casing, which can be bought, found, or salvaged from defeated jedi or sith when constructing a lightsabre) -Travel to planets such as Ithor, Sleheyron, Lok, Coruscant, Telos, Toydaria, Arborfrost and Onderon. -will you and Valdras’ apprentice become friends and save the Republic, or become enemies and drive each other down the path of the dark side? -Destroy the long awaited HK-50 droid factory. -interact with old characters such as Bastila, Carth, Bao-Dur, HK-47, T3-M4, Revan, and the Exile, as well as new characters. -meet new species like Bothans, Feeorians, Verpine, Barabels, Dugs, Gran, Mon Calamari, Chistori, Huk, Kaleesh, Kel Dor, Drall, and Chiss. -Fight the Dark Lord of the Sith who has emerged from the shadows. -Bring the Jedi Civil War to an end. And More! Well, what do you think? (feedback greatly appreciated. please note that this is still in a WIP brainstorming format rather than a final story format) Thrawn, you mentioned that the highlighted paragraph didn't make sense. I've made a couple edits and added a few details, but can you tell me what you found confusing about it specifically? (The more feedback I get, the better this story will become. )
  23. I agree. GOTO had an interesting story, but you didn't actually have any quests relating to him (Like how Kashyyyk revolves around Zaalbar) and none of the characters changed. It was as if the entire game took place over a few hours; little character development. In KOTOR, by the end of the game, you knew what Jolee's opinions and philosophies were. You knew how Carth viewed war vs how Canderous did. In fact, the only KOTOR II characters that came close to being as strongly developed as in KOTOR were IN KOTOR. The Disciple (though it would've been nice if he had a name) and Atton came close. As for Bao-Dur, I didn't know any more than I did about him when I finished the game than when I started it; even though he was the character in your party that you were supposed to know the best. Kreia had a well developed character and an interesting story, but they spoiled it early on with the cutscene showing her getting overthrown by Darth Sion and Nihilus on Malachor V. We got a glimpse of Canderous Ordo's relation to Revan during the Mandalorian Wars, but his personality was created in the First game. The game focused too much on you rather than the party members. I wanted to see old friends or rivals of your party members show up, like in KOTOR, but it never happened. The Disciple never talks about his relation with the Republic, which must have been deep given his contacts in the Republic such as Admiral Carth Onasi (the secretive transmission is a hologram out in the open, rather than via comlink in secret). Another problem was that the focus of the game was that no one trusts each other in the game - even the characters that seemed to trust you (like Disciple and Bao-Dur) didn't tell you things about themselves. Obsidian tried to weasel out of it by saying that the Exile already knew Bao-Dur and the Disciple, so they don't need to be explained. That's not good enough. They need side quests (or Mandatory quests) that reveal more about the character.
  24. Sure. Thanx for your feedback.
