  1. I don't know about the music, but what a light show! ~~Untimely watches the sabres dancing~~
  2. Zoot...wait till he's asleep, then bite his toes!
  3. As a matter of fact, I think you were in it, Grand Admiral Elvis! Actually, I couldn't be in it...I'm just a lowly Admiral and only in command of a few Imperial Star Destroyers and the like. For those of you who just have to be a Grand Admiral: http://tatooine.fortunecity.com/swampthing/97/imp-officer1.html
  4. How 'bout this: http://www.theforce.net/books/unjoh/gallery/vongjc.jpg or this: http://www.theforce.net/books/unjoh/gallery/yvwarrior.jpg or this: http://www.theforce.net/books/unjoh/gallery/lewispaper.jpg or this: http://www.theforce.net/books/unjoh/gallery/hixvongface.jpg Now, I know some of these are fan fiction, but it's a start!
  5. Hey, I saw something on the Discovery Channel about some big loop they put up in London...is that the Millenium Dome? The thing I saw looked like it should have been a roller coaster, and it had little "capsules" that traversed it's circumference. You London boys know what I'm talking about?
  6. Did you guys read the stuff in the "Text" link on that site? Here's just a portion: Why Star Wars is better then Titanic: 1. Titanic's big, but it doesn't have hyperdrive. 2. Star Wars has WAY cooler action figure potential. 3. Yoda could use the Force to lift Titanic out of the water. 4. Leia is a princess, a senator, a freedom fighter, and Jedi material; Rose is just marriage bait. 5. Ewoks throw better parties than either first class or steerage. 6. When flying towards the Titanic, Wedge can't say "Look at the size of that thing!" and really mean it. 7. It would be much scarier to get chased around the boat by a raving madman with a lightsaber as opposed to a handgun. 8a. Titanic is egalitarian by portraying poor people as sympathetic characters. Star Wars is egalitarian by promoting bug-eyed amphibians to Admiral. 8b. Said bug-eyed amphibious Admiral manages NOT to lose his ship. 9. We know Cal is the bad guy because he sneers at the poor and treats his fiancee like property. We know Darth Vader is the bad guy because he strangles people and blows up planets for fun. 10. Yeah, Leo can dance, but can he fly an X-wing? 11. People have not lost their lives trying to re-create scenes from Star Wars on the bow of a cruise liner. 12. Rose braves icy water to rescue her man. Leia braves Jabba the Hut. 13. Han Solo would've missed the dang iceberg! 14. There are always enough escape pods in Star Wars. 15. Do you know what the Empire does to self-proclaimed "kings of the world"? 16. If Luke were handcuffed to a pipe below decks in a sinking ship, he would use the Force to get the key. 17. "I'd rather be his strumpet than your wife" just doesn't have the same sting as "I'd rather kiss a Wookie." 18. Han is frozen in carbonite and turned into a wall ornament. Leo simply freezes. 19. We knew the boat was gonna sink. But who could've anticipated "Luke....I am your father." ??? 20. Two words: John Williams
  7. Ya know, I've been thinking a lot about the history of Star Wars and how it's actually a little twisted. The Old Republic had it's chance to be successful, but it became cluttered with beaurocracy and debates (kind of like the UN). Finally, someone stepped up and brought order to the mess. The people who screwed it up in the first place decided that they needed to stop all that, so they started a Galactic Civil War! After a few lucky fights, they take it back. Thus begins the New Republic. Now here's the tricky part. In all the novels, the Senate becomes exactly like the old days, corrupt and full of Senators only interested in their own success (like Fey'lya). So what good did it do to oust the Emperor and bring chaos back to the galaxy? Hmmmm....
  8. I think it kicks arse! Great idea, Swarmer! It shouldn't be that much larger file sizes, and even if it was, doesn't everyone have 20 GB+ hard drives (at the very least)?
  9. Gank, I know you have many "sources" for your information on the election, and I don't want to keep beating a dead horse. Please understand that the election was two years ago, and really unimportant now since Bush is President. But you keep throwing out "facts" that are just a little skewed. The US press does not like President Bush. They make no bones about it. You're not hearing the other side of the story. The "recount" you are referring to that the Supreme Court had to intervene to stop was the third recount. By Florida state law, the original results were so close, a recount was mandated. But Al Gore would not give up and got a bunch of lawyers involved. If Gore had his way, we'd still be counting the votes! I'm sure you don't understand this, but the business of the US had to get going, and some people making judgement calls on votes that had been counted three times was wasting our (the US people's) time. Every day, the news was littered with people holding ballots up to the light to see if they could see any light through them. The machine count (1st) said Bush won. The recount (2nd) said Bush won by a closer margin. The re-recount in only selected Democratic counties (3rd) closed the margin a little more, but Bush still won. I want to emphasize to you that at NO time did Gore ever have more votes. Your info on the "overseas" ballots is interesting, since the Democratic counties Gore was so interested in refused to count hundreds of absentee ballots sent in by troops who were overseas...which were by a great majority for Bush. Gank, this is getting us nowhere. We could discuss the election for weeks, and neither of us will sway from our opinions. You think Bush is a "joke", but I feel Bush is one of the greatest Presidents of our time. I know I'll get a response to this...you won't be able to help yourself! But I'm afraid from here on out, I'm not going to reply to this topic...maybe you can get some arguments from someone else about this, but not me.

    GUI?

I'd cry the blues, too if my face looked like it lost a battle with a cheese grater!
  11. Gank, I'm not going to argue with you on any of your points on international events. I would, however, like to remark on your comment about Bush "rigging" elections. I am an American, and I live in America. I experienced the election firsthand, and followed the events very, very closely (as I voted for Bush). I can tell you with great certainty that Bush won the election, without any help from the US Supreme Court or anything else you may have heard. The United States is not a democracy...it is a republic. Florida's vote was close, but it went to Bush. You may not have known this, because the media has kept it very quiet, but several newspapers did their own count of the votes in Florida. Guess who got the most votes? I agree the election was extremely close, but Bush was elected fairly and legally. And after the hoopla, Americans came together and rallied behind our President. That's what we Americans do. So please stop assuming the election was "rigged". It gets quite irritating to hear citizens from other countries say that. Whether you like him or not, George Bush is the President of the United States of America, duly elected and inaugurated. As far as your other views, I think you're right on the money on some and off on others. But you have the right to speak your mind here on SWR, the same as anyone else. Keep it up!
  12. I think Thrawn should be Palpy, so Luke and C'Baoth have the "Force changing" DLL events. (courtesy: the_mask)
  13. Check out this: http://www.starwars.com/databank/species/yuuzhanvong/eu.html It also has an awesome picture of what they look like!
  14. Ok...ya got me! Great job with the list, by the way Nemesis!
  15. I just hope they learned something from that.
  16. No, tractor beams in Rebellion only effect capital ships. I suppose you've also seen the "red haze" effect around ships...that's just to show which ships have gravity well projectors. I hope this helps!
  17. OOC: I think I'm going to sit back and listen for a while...I'm truly intrigued about this new development! But there is going to have to be one hell of a good explanation of this!
  18. The pics from the Insider are comic style, but they have unusual expressions on their faces. Also, the only ones they have are the official Grand Admirals, not any that claimed to be Grand Admirals.
  19. The sign of a good DM! It's the imagination that makes role playing fun...
  20. You mean they used 5th graders as the Iraqi military? Just kidding...they may be poorly trained, but give anybody a weapon and they become dangerous.
  21. Rolling On Floor Laughing My Ass Off ROFLMAO
  22. I wonder where Skeletor is? Could be hangin' out with the Smurfs!
  23. Elvis: the E-Bomb description I found didn't mention nuclear explosions (at least in the current weapon). It did say that's how they discovered it. Here is the link: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,78375,00.html
  24. Good point, Gank! I remember in the '91 Gulf War, the communications and electronic installations were the first to be hit. BTW, I didn't hear many details of the last war game, but that doesn't surprise me. I did hear that Iraq knows they won't be able to communicate with their troops once hostilities start, so they are issuing blanket orders to their outlying troops and relying on the loyalty of their commanders and troops. From experience, that's probably not such a good thing for Saddam.
