I think mask reported the same thing happening to him one time. That's two people who may have seen this...

Please control the language. If you have a point to make, it can be made without the use of foul language.

I've heard several times from Israeli media that Bin Laden is "close to being captured", but so far I haven't heard anything about him being captured. Iraqi leadership rejected the expulsion of Saddam and his sons today, so expect Baghdad to be on fire tomorrow. In other news, there are reports that Republican Guard units are being issued chemical weapons...you know, the ones that Iraq said they don't have.

I always thought having a certain amount of "detection rating" on a system would stop smuggling. In my experience, depending on the morale of the system, you need a certain amount of troops, starfighters, or starships to end smuggling. If morale is lower, you need more troops, etc. If morale goes up, you need less. As a general rule, 6 troops will keep order, but may not stop smuggling. Smuggling never happens on a system that has 50% morale or better, so the solution to ending those pesky smugglers is simply diplomacy...or taking over several systems in the sector, which will raise morale on all systems.

Excellent! I assume it's a Gaelic word, then. How is it pronounced? Like "Shot-on"?

Loor listened intently to Elvis' report. "If what you are saying is true, the Vong seem to be the deadliest threat we've ever encountered. I'm certain your weak forces cannot defeat this threat by itself, and I am unsure the full might of the Imperial Navy could defeat such a foe. A cessation of hostilities between us would seem prudent, but how can we trust you? You have proven in the past to be most bothersome, especially to our trade shipping. You certainly cannot expect me to believe you won't continue your raids and attacks." Loor frowned, then continued. "And how can I be sure that these Vong were not brought here by you? You certainly seem to know a considerable amount about them. I have only known them to attack our fleet, so they could work for you." At this comment, Samos spoke. "No, the Rebels do not control these Vong, nor do they work in cooperation. I believe if Elvis will contact his fleet, he will find out his forces have been eliminated, as well." Elvis turned to Luke to confirm this revelation. "Yes, I just felt it, too. Thousands of voices were silenced..." Luke slumped as if he carried the weight of their deaths on his shoulders. Lord Samos seemed unaffected, almost energized. It was as if he fed off of the suffering, leeching lifeforce from those who agonized. Silence surrounded the four men for several minutes, then Loor spoke up. "You have said they use organics...could our researchers come up with a biotoxin that could combat this threat?" =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= OOC: Sorry, I'm an Imperial, and I just can't trust Rebels that easily. I'm also a bit arrogant.

Steven Tyler(spelling?), you're not! Aerosmith rocks...

Apparently, some of us don't get out much! Actually, I'm sort of interested, too...

As Loor walked down the ramp of his shuttle, he got his first live view of the famed Luke Skywalker. Imperial propaganda had made him out to be a madman and bent on anarchy and revolution. From what Loor saw, Skywalker was much more thoughtful and calm...more of a tranquil sea than a troubled tempest. Standing near Skywalker was the Rebel commander, Elvis. Loor thought he looked rather young to be commanding a fleet, but knew the Rebels counted on success in battle more than the Empire. Promotions in the Imperial Navy were commonly given to officers who had served a certain amount of time or who had buddied up with a ranking officer, not on battle experience or command merit. That was one thing that always disturbed Loor, but he had always felt pride in knowing his promotions were based on battle success and tactical expertise. "I am Admiral Kirtan Loor, in command of the Imperial fleet in this sector. This is Supreme Warlord Samos, personal advisor and administrator of Emperor Evaders himself. So this is the alien technology that destroyed three of my ships...it's not much to look at, is it?"

Where are we, in Hansel and Gretel? I'll take a bite out of the gingerbread house! ~~Untimely suddenly remembers he's a certified Cookie-Trooper~~

Leave it to the Vong to start arguing about implanting legs into their head, or some such thing! I'm actually just as loud in real life as here on SWR. I'm a clown...no seriously, I really am!

Incredible site, Jahled! There are some serious dll candidates in there!

You know what they say...it's the quiet ones you have to worry about most!

Nope...I've never heard of anything called "the Fast Show".

UntimelyDemise replied to GonkRaider's topic in General Discussion
Snot is what I have barrels of right now...damn sinus infection! Yes, I think a way to change music schemes in game would be preferred. That way, when the Rebels lose, an upbeat song plays, and when the Rebels win...umm...wait...do the Rebels ever win? -
Zoot won't live long enough to get a promotion to Jedi.

OOC: Embrace the POWER of the Dark Side! Actually, I think with his background, it would be very easy to succumb to the Darkside! Besides, you've got so many Jedi...you won't miss one more! IC: As the shuttle descended from the heavens toward the planet, Loor noticed Master Samos shudder, then slowly smile. For a moment, Loor thought the Dark Jedi was dreaming. Suddenly, Samos opened his eyes and spoke. "Admiral, have you ever met Emperor Evaders?" Loor looked startled, but spit out "n-n-no." "You will soon have your chance. Our Rebel prisoner is closer to the Dark Side than we imagined. Emperor Evaders has decided to intervene directly. Soon, this Rebel pilot will know the true power of the Dark Side!" Loor suddenly felt a wave of calm wash over him. His fear of the Force had always been a nagging issue, but for some reason, he suddenly felt content about it. As if he knew the Galactic Empire and it's Dark leaders would emerge victorious in the end. Loor smiled. Not just a grin, but a genuine smile. "My lord, I await the Emperor's arrival with anticipation!" "Of course you do..." murmured Samos. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= OOC: No, I don't want Force powers, I'm just explaining that I'm getting a bit more comfortable with Force users around me. Kind of like Tarkin, when he treated Vader like an equal on the Death Star. Tarkin didn't fear Vader, or even the Emperor. I just don't want to be a wimp whenever Igor or Evaders are around!

Untimely awoke to the sound of footsteps on cold steel. He looked around and saw several people in white coats walking toward a large TV screen. Just then, Elvis came on the screen and began... "Zoot has failed...with the technology aquired here in Area 52.567, we can finally destroy Zoot and his evil clones." Clones? Did Untimely really hear him correctly? So...that's how Zoot can be all over the place with his nuclear lagers!! Untimely passed out again...

OOC: Elvis, we'd never kill you...at least not yet! IC: Loor watched from the bridge of the Proud Order as a shuttle departed from the Rebel's flagship. He had wanted to see if any escorts were sent, especially cloaked ships. "Sensors on maximum. Are there any escorts?" asked Loor. "Negative, sir. Apparently, the Rebels are keeping their word." replied the Ensign at the scanner. "Excellent. Supreme Warlord Samos, will you accompany me to the surface? The Rebel commander mentioned Luke Skywalker would be with him, and I would feel more comfortable under your protection." "You have nothing to fear from the Rebel Jedi...they are weak and only use the Force for protection. That is their downfall." replied the Dark Master. "Still, I would like to have a regiment of stormtroopers with us." Loor said, with a hint of worry in his voice. "There is no need. The Rebels will keep their word and will be alone...I sense it." answered Samos confidently. "Very well, Lord Samos." And with that, the Dark Lord and Admiral Loor headed for the hangar. Slowly, the shuttle drifted from the bowels of the Proud Order, on what Loor knew to be a most interesting meeting.

~~Untimely sees a line forming for the chance to hit Jahled~~ Okay, do we all get a chance, or is this a self-inflicting thing?

Hooray! We're back on Earth! Thanks, Vong Elvis!
