So whilst the quality may be better, these arn't official, and I doubt will be around for long, especially when George gets to hear about them!

May as well get a copy though huh?

Like Jahled said, they are not official and should vanish quite fast. I've seen part of the Laserdisc version of ANH once, it was very good (although not quite DVD), but if this shop or their Asian 'retailer' gets busted and your adress and credit card number are listed under buyer, then the police will just come after you as well and take them away from you. So you won't have the movies and the money will be lost, too.

 

Sorry, guess we'll have to wait until George will finally release this original DVD pack ....

I've just ordered a copy because i thought, what the heck, may as well get a copy. Oh well, i'll wait for a knock on my door...

A mate of mine at work pointed out something else as well. If they're taken from laserdisk then they're going to be pre-special edition...dah!

 

I've asked my mate in Beijing to try and get me two lots of trilogys anyhow!

 

I'm kind of looking forward to seeing all the deleated scenes from the original films when George Lucas finally releases them though...drool...salivate...gurgle...wimper...

They won't be as good as the new trilogy though, because the master copy will have aged.

Actually that Laserdisc I saw was the special edition of ANH.

 

The DVDs that will be released by Lucas should look as good as the new ones, think about what they did to the already more than 20 year old master tapes back when they released the special edition, they were practically new movies

 

Also I'm waiting and drooling for these deleted scenes. A buddy once told me years ago that he got a tape from the video rental with a making of and outtakes from the original trilogy. He said that you could see R2 racing into a wall and such things

...and one of the Emperor's Royal Guards giving an Imperial Officer some with his force pike....drool...gibber...shake...

I refer, in my usual high standards of gibberish, to page 48 of the 'Action Figure Archive,' published by Virgin Publishing. The scene was cut from Return of the Jedi, and involved the Royal Guards standing side by side at the turbolift to the Emperor's chamber, and 'will punish even highly ranked officials who attempt to enter without permission.'

Nope...I've never heard of anything called "the Fast Show".

 

It was a very funny sketch show on prime time tv over here. I think it used to be 9:30 on BBC2. Basically it was full of surreal sketches, including one of a tailors where the two men used to wind up their customers with persistent cries of;

 

"Do you like that sir?"

 

"Oooh, suit you sir"

 

And so on and so forth. It was funny at the time.

My mate in Beijing has just replied to my email and confirmed he is actually in possession of the said DVDs! RAH-HA! For he to is a fellow Star Wars brother! Rock on!!!

 

The one, bloody, thing he neglected to mention in his email to me, was whether he can get them in my DVD region (2) ...mumble...grumble....

Anyway, me is sorted!

Ok guys, I just got home to the original Star Wars Triliogy on DVD!!! They exist, quite obviously have absolutely nothing to do with Lucasfilms, but I can confirm, are from the digitally remastered movies!!!

 

Given I got them off the internet, from a registered DVD company, they're legal right?

I should think it's legal. Certainly I can't see them being confiscated. I've now got about 4 copies because all my friends are aking me for them!
