Who is willing to do the GUI?

 

It shouldn't be too hard, I'm not asking this same person to replace all the other icons in the DLL entries as well, just the little background of the game when we play. And there are only 2. So you can make one, and one can be blue (mirrrored), the other one can be red.

I could... But i'd prefer not to.

I'll do it. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome.

The imperial gui could be from the bridge of an ISD, since it's going to be the Thrawn era and they didn't really have a stationary base

 

 

The Rebels, ahhh Alliance ? How about a Senate hall, or a building on Coruscant ?

Hmm, maybe something like a 2d version of what Obi uses in EpII to find Geonosis with Yoda, in a white office type environment with a few banks of pc's?

Unless Gank will have time to make two different backdrops (which shouldn't even really matter... we're gonna be playing the game here not looking at the eyecandy) we will have one ISD bridge, just mirrored for NR.

Or a Mon Cal bridge, with 3PO changed to Ackbar

I like the idea of that Mask. Though is it really that much work to change the GUI?

Should be 'only' the two pics, but the button positions have to be the same and it should be 256 colors. But sadly I have no bigger picture from a Moncal bridge

How bout if you sent me the picture and i get my mate who's a graphic artist to draw it bigger and send it back to you? Would that work?

The biggest problem is probably to get all the buttons in the right places, the second biggest is Gank not having enough time. We had to persuade him just to do the ISD bridge, you know, .

 

IMHO it wouldn't look right for Ackbar to be C3PO (and we'd have to take his card out too!), why would he stand still all the time?

 

Plus we'd need to redo the animations (hard!), and where would we get voices for him (yeah, call the actor up... ). If we could do just the latter (animation + voices), then I'm sure this idea could be seriously considered.

Hmm, actually, we shouldn't use Ackbar anyway, he's supposed to be a major player in the battle against Thrawn.

Actually, if anyone can find a pic of a ISD bridge (like that character background of the imps) but with very clear crew bays (not too large) and a very large viewport, however, there is no location for the GID, but you could make a sort of floating projections screen.

 

If someone has a pic that I could use, I could make a new GUI.

 

About that MonCal GUI, Evaders once made a MonCal TC (but not T ) that I beta tested, and with this TC I was inspired to make a MonCal GUI. Quite simple, take the original pic of the GUI, take that MonCal card, take parts of it's hull plates and paste these pieces on the old GUI. It looked pretty good!

 

For the NR GUI, Ackbar would be a great C3PO, because he does is a major advisor for the NR.

We'd appreciate a MonCal GUI, and as for the ISD GUI, Gank ... should be working on it.

How could you fit both of them though? There's only room for one R unit.
