  1. Msst...or something like that, I think that's how you spell it.
  2. What's that got to do with this thread?
  3. Oh yeah. Better download it! ;D
  4. So, you gonna tell us how to put capital ships in ground battles?
  5. So, how do you do that? What file tells the game which video to play?
  6. I believe it's in the groundbuildings.xml or something like that. There's a line about garrisons somewhere, and yeah, their should be a time limit or something because the rebels just use tons of MPTLs if you attack one of their planets.
  7. UE32 is sweet...definitely easier to read than the one I was using.
  8. Huh? Could you clarify what your question is?
  9. Well, while we can't change animations or put in new models, we can put in new textures and create model variants. That's something at least.
  10. Unless it has a landing .ala file, I don't think it would be possible. If it does, then yeah, just make a landing clone like all the other ships have.
  11. Click the search button and go to Text string, enter tga, hit the "Text -> Hex" button, and click ok. That's how you find the texture references.
  12. XVI32...whatever the heck that means... I remember the site I got it from, I just have to find it again. I'll post a link when I do. Found it:
  13. Actually, almost no one knew he could use the force, either. Only his personal aides, the Moff Council, and other special cases like Vader and the Emperor's Hands knew he was a Sith Lord. I think everyone else figured he just wore those robes to hide his disfigurement from the attempted "assassination by the Jedi".
  14. Perfect! Nice discovery, this is exactly what I was looking for. What kind of hex editor are you using? EDIT: Never mind, the one I have for BfME works. I'm giving you credit for this, I never would have thought to hex the models...*commence evil plotting*
  15. Trust me, NO ONE welcomes Sith. My mod involves a rebellion of Dark Jedi against the Empire, following a self-proclaimed Sith Lord. Since these Sith actually announce themselves, they're feared even above the Empire (very few know the Emperor is a Sith). I'm trying to be able to have you able to fight against the Empire, the Rebels, the Pirates, and the Indigenous factions in one campaign... EDIT: Oops, forgot. Also, I'm having the story set so the Emperor makes the public believe it to be an invasion, not a rebellion, so he encourages all systems to fight against these so-called "Sith" and gain the friendship and protection of the Empire. Yet another reason why indigenous groups would fight you.
  16. Agreed. I advocat some black holes on perhaps a Maw Installation map. Otherwise, leave them out. Just useless clutter that'll get in the way of the fun...
  17. I just had an idea. What if we made an unplayable "Indigenous" faction (or something like that) that possesses all unconquered planets. Obviously it would have no galactic AI, and only basic combat AI (since they're mostly civilians), and no unit construction abilities. It could work. The only reason I care is because in my mod I'm making an evil faction and the natives would definitely resist them before handing over the planet.
  18. A white hole is just a black hole that's visible because a stream of matter can be traced into it from it's source (usually a star)...I think...
  19. I had an idea that I'd like to try and incorporate into a mod I'm working on. Would it be possible to have the indigenous residents of a planet resist you? I know you can normally, but I mean when you go to a planet and it's not owned by one of the three factions, you fight the indigenous people in order to take control instead of simply automatically getting it...
  20. Did you change the Tech Level? It's set to 99 on Generic_Star_Destroyer and it'll have to be reduced to 1-5 if you want to build it.
  21. Really? This is good news! Perhaps I did something wrong...I've replaced textures on normal units, but couldn't seem to replace only when with two different names of the same model. I'll keep checking, and good luck on your tests!
  22. To my knowledge, it's never used. However, it could definitely be used in space maps for the Maw Installation, which would be super cool.
  23. Trust me, you don't want to scale down capitals. Leave them as is, the fighters are already just dots when correctly scaled. If we decrease capital ship size, they'll become invisible entirely.
  24. Cool. Nice to know someone else is helping out. ;D Thanks! I'll be trying some new experiments over the weekend as well. Hopefully, someone will get the concept working.
