  1. I am guessing that it is strictly an Imperial weapom, because on the site it says "imperial structure" under the name. I imagine the ion canon is the rebel equivelent, it just disables the ship it hits, not destroys it. Fits continuity well too because the rebels would be more inclined to destroy whatever it wants, where rebels would disable ships to gain supplies. Also ike mentioned above, the rebels wouldn't have superlaser tech, the imps have it from building the death star.
  2. Hmm I wonder Force Corrupt definitely sounds like a dark side power. I wonder if lightside jedi will have a similar, but less powerful power, like "force influence" I mean Obi wan had no problem using it. It would just influence the locals to do something for you where as force corrupt is sounds like it is pretty much just making them your muppets.
  3. Arguably the coolest thing out of the new info, so far we know: -It is an imperial structure, land based. -It can be used to take down enemy space stations. Questions to be asked: -Can it fire on enemy ships? Seems like this would be the more useful feature of it, and it wouldn't be to unbalacing because it would probably have a long reloading time. Oh how much I would love to lure Ackbar into my sector, only to find I have one of them. Fire on the nearest mon cal crusier...."Its a trap!"
  4. Oh wow did that get annoying. They didn't need to put that after everything.
  5. Hmm debating if I should run. I would really like to clean up these fourms by moving threads to their proper forums (My biggest quirk here), but I feel that I may be too liberal in my modding style than the rest of you. I must meditate on this.
  6. wow I just posted that in the one thread surprised no one has though of this yet. Yea doesn't make much sense, but there is still room for a few more planets, if I had to guess one, this would be one of them. EDIT: I also expected Ord Mantell to be a shoe in planet as well.
  7. Nevets Comments 2.0: -What's the point of having Rancors without their home planet Dathomir? -Why aren't the selkath under species? If you are going to have maanan there needs to be selkaths. -Surprised Chandrila isn't in. It is Mon Monthma's homeplanet. Jek Porkin's Bestine made it in, yet the much more described Chandrila did not? -I have not yet found any references to a star wars planet called Shola. -With the lack of EPIII planets in, it has got me wondering. Could this be a sign that they are making a clone wars expansion? If they were you'd think the logically would want to add the clone wars planets and not put a lot of them in this one. Or EPIII just came out to late to add those planets in.... I think the former, because if they really wanted to (and I am sure LEC would have made them put them in for marketing reasons) they could have got permission to look at these planets long before the film was released, just look at BFII. I was just hoping the expansion was going to be post ANH hope, I wanted it to expanded my game. Not make a completely sperate one (well they could connect the two, but that would be a logistics nightmare).
  8. EPIII planets are planets a casual fan would know (they would not know much about Kuat and Fondor) and are better selling points since they are from the newest star wars movie and would attract people because of that. Also not saying those planets should be in, but that EPIII planets should be in over some of those obscure planets that even the hardcore star wars fan has a hard time recognizing. I haven't heard of either of them till this game and I know my star wars. You are playing ANH, it would be sad if the two main characters weren't in the game Edit: and oh yea, the rancor is still on Tat, I know for the fact their is no canon that has rancors running wild through the deserts.
  9. Alternate ending? Please explain, how could EPIII have an alternate ending? It was pretty much a definited path.
  10. I don't, that could all fit on one exapansion, I would hope they wouldn't go cheap on us and do them in increments, get them all done at once.
  11. The good: -The canon that shot into space -Manaan and other KOTOR planets The Bad -Bestine, maybe it is a planet, but most star wars fan will refer to the Tat city. They could have picked better planets. - Shola? Don't tell me they made this one up, there are plenty of already established volcanop planets that they did not include, Mustafar, Lok, and that other one everyone mentions. -Severe lack of EPIII planets. No mustafar, no mygeeto, no Utapau, no Polis Massa, no Flucia, no cato neimodia, and that S one. Not even Kamino from Ep II. -No Luke or Leia as heroes. Sure these may not be complete lists, but you would think that these would be heroes that are assumend in, so it wouldn't be like they would need to hide them. Strange.
  12. The way I am thinking is, part of the imperial story will be about collecting parts for the Death Star. Building the DS should be an option not a requirement
  13. Don't forget the bothan assult crusier, tho out of the timeline it is a kick ass ship.
  14. sick=awesome
  15. Utapauns: P-38s Dactillions varactyls
  16. Interesting question, probably not, I think they attack everyone. Maybe if you have good standing with a race tho you will be able to use their creatures.
  17. Eh yea, just read they are thinking about have a subscription thing for it. I was going by what I last heard a couple months ago. I also just read that Sega is thinking about jumping on board and putting its old games on it as well, that would be interesting. Edit: but it still said some games would be free, it also said many games would be "enhanced" graphics wise. Hellooooo Goldenye.
  18. So the death star ends it? Dumb, imps just aren't going to build it, they said u needed resources, why waste your time on it then. I don't like the story driven part either, to restrictive, I want freedom, not a path. Sounds kind of like BFII: the RTS.
  19. Last I heard the nintendo made games (Mario, Zelda...) would be free. 3rd party games (Lucasarts) would set their own prices but are expected to be cheap. It has also been said 3rd party makers can also use games as promotional items, like get the new Rouge Squadron game and get all past LA nintendo games free.
  20. Touche, I forgot about how they were a lot of them outside the senate and how they do have a couple lasers. Some more things Theed Palace Engineering can build.
  21. So does this mean if we take Naboo we can get naboo star fighters and those gungan energy balls? wish I could get those naboo royal crafts, those are some sleek vessels, tho they don't have a combat role what so ever.
  22. Cool, sounds interesting, I hope that will be able to be modded into the game.
  23. Are you saying the emperor was trying to compensate for something?
  24. If they were smart they would have released a ton of information on the same days that AOE 3 and Civ 4. Hell, 360 is releasing Halo3 the same day PS3 comes out, it is simple marketing.
  25. Because they are two different games that appeal to two different audiences? I would rather advertise to those RTS players that have to make a choice between games to say "hey you out there getting Civ 4 and AOE3, wait a couple months for EAW"
