NMA Project- Reality of Rebellion
Nevets replied to Stellar_Magic's topic in EAW - Modding Arts Inc.
Yea I like the corp idea, but the trees are to complicated I think. -
It sounds like they already have set spaces for buildings so on city maps they are probably open lots for them to be placed on. Like the Courscant buildings probably have an area between two other buildings to place a structure. Tho I don't think the "Hutt Palace" would look very good there

In reality, if the Rebels weren't suppose to be the "all moral good guys" the rebels would have no problem using bounty hunters. It would be much cheaper to hire a bounty hunter to run some assasinations of key imps then buy cap ships to fight them head to head, they are a rebellion. For the most parts the imps would have very little need for bounty hunters. The only real imperial that used them was probably Vader and that was to hunt down jedi and as a ploy to get Luke. It isn't a normal imp thing, just look at the officers' reaction in ESB when Vader brings the bounty hunters out, they aren't too pleased.

I think it was more of a moral thing then a price thing. Sure in the movies they couldn't have afforded them, but even if the tide of the war did change and the Rebels had the imps on the run, money wouldn't be a problem, I still don't think Bounty Hunters were up their ally.

I don't think Boba would have turned down a large chunk of change from the Rebellion. Their primary goal was to restore the Republic, Jedi were secondary. Now Luke's goals were to restore the Jedi, but Boba wouldn't be working for Luke.

We wish, but it doesn't look that way. Delphi said it would be moddable but at start heros wont die

Thats the point tho, the volcanic planets they have in game now, are little known planets they got from who knows where. I would rather see volcanic planets with a back story I know such as Lok and Mustafar.

Eh, I'm just throwing around ideas. Just things I have noticed on other forums. Also didn't PM this since I was interested in others feedback and their ideas.

I have spent a lot of times on forums, and this seems to be a pretty good on. I just have some ideas to improve it a bit: 1) Come up with a better rule on Spamming, don't just out right ban people on it. Send them an email letting them know. Set up an offense thing. 1st offense 1 day ban, 2nd a week ban, 3rd an IP ban. 2) The key to a sucessful/ quick moving forum is usually the less forums the better. The more general the forum usually the better. When a certain genre of topics take over the forum then a new forum should be considered. My opinions: -The EAW forums are fine the way they are, but you should be able to discuss anything relating to EAW in them, this means how Petro and LEC relate to the game. -The P-02 forum could be turned into a Petrogames forum, meaning all petro endevors could be discussed there. And once p-02 becomes more prevalent it could have its own forum. -The Bar should only be used for everything that does not hve a forum (so no EAW, Petro, Star Wars, Games...) -I don't see why the Bestine Cantina can't be part of the bar. Perhaps this can be renamed the Mos Eisley Cantina. A place for posters to let their hair down. Losely moderated, can allow for posters to rant, let off steam, no one complaining about your spelling or grammer, spam to an extent, maybe some debates, no flaming. ( also a useful place to ban a person for awhile, if they have done something wrong, but not deserving of a ban) -I think the Star Wars forums can be combined to one be General Star Wars forums. A place where we can go to talk about the movies, and EU vs Canon. - Game and Gaming events can be combined into one forum called "Computers and Gaming". If there are game events they can be stickied on the top. 3) More consenus by Mods on what is and isn't proper forum ediquette. Seems right now that most do their own things that are not listed in the rules. Good job on the rules by the way, the less the better usually. There is that one no one follows any more about asking Dev questions since Delphi has shown up, but that isn't a big deal Those are all I can think of right now

Are those the flying whale things? I forgot but I think those are what were in KOTOR. I think a lot of SW planets have them. Including Bespin, Alderaan, Naboo, and Kamino. (mainly because George picked a lot of planets to have them till he decided Kamino would have it for the movie )
-
I am still unsure about Fett, since he is a bounty hunter he should be able to go to the highest bidder. Doubt Dash, IG, LOM, and Bossk are in since they are not listed. I imagine the bounty hunters and smugglers are just generic designs, not actually characters.
-
Under the troops section on the new EAW site it has one listed called Hutt Palace. Now I assume this is where you recruit smugglers and bounty hunters and it finally explains why Jabba's palace is in this Naboo background: http://pcmedia.gamespy.com/pc/image/article/587/587433/star-wars-empire-at-war-20050213114946721.jpg Problem is that originally it was a monestary for B'omarr monks, not a hutt palace. I love being an overcritical Star Wars fan

I would have also liked to have seen Lok. Volcanic, Arid, Sulfer rivers, Known to SW Gamers, Kimos, and Nym. Would have been an excellent battle planet. EDIT: tho I don't think it will be to hard to mod.

The campaign will end at either the destruction of Yavin IV or the DS. I agree with Nevets and you, the scenarios are what I'm mostly looking forward to. I bet us they will have a little difference of endings, like instead of that it will be Rebels destroy DS and Imps destroy [planet rebel base is at at the moment]
-
It turns out it was a little (still can't confirm it was in any other star wars source) Shola. I wonder how they did Dantooine, if they did it like SWG or KOTOR. I hope KOTOR, much more beautiful, lot less purple.
-
I hope they spend more time on scenario then campaign. Campaign you will play once, maybe twice, scenario seems like what most of us will bring us back to keep playing.

PFF Act of Justice 01 - Banning of 3 spamming members
Nevets replied to Cain's topic in The Maw Installation
I think emails should be required all the time. Some time informal warnings just don't cut it. Plus it makes the forum look better when you have formal warnings from the top, seems more legitimate to me. -
NMA Project - Starcraft: Invasion of Char
Nevets replied to Teradyn_pff's topic in The Maw Installation
Thats kind of the point, they are greedy and more in it for the money then making fun games. Sure all games are to make one way or another, but it seems like they make fun game only to get more money. They don't want anyone using their money makers unless they are getting money from this. -
If you were in a hurry to retreat it might come in handy.
-
Yea it will be interesting on how they do this. I am sure in 4000 years it was probably rebuilt, but what would it look like, I imagine it would have some of the old architecture, but it definitely wouldn't look exactly as in did in KOTOR.

Edited by Siddus : Thank you for doing clear, simple and serious topic titles. "Nevets' Topic Today" we don't care, and it's not a mark of quality. Or not yet announced: Dathomir: With rancors in the game, it seems logical that their main planet would be in game. (Star Wars Galaxies did this). Without Dathomir they really don't have a planet listed (unless they make one up like KOTOR) that has rancors. As many times as Tatooine has been explored in books and the movies only one rancor has popped up, and that is Jabba's "pet". So I hope Petro and LEC haven't screwed this one up that bad and hope that if a rancor does pop up in EAW on Tat it is jabba's. Another reason I would have liked to see Dathomir in is that it is very prevalent in star wars lore, it would be a very difficult planet to capture or even control. The force witches would even give the Sand people a run for their money. There is also a sarlacc on the planet. The landscape is also fairly unique. Chandrilla: Mon Mothma's home planet. A planet that I and others expected to be in. A beautiful planet that would not be hard to produce. It is also very central to the Galactic Civil War. Even Tarkin's little explored home planet of Eriadu made it in game.
