I'm just trying to set up a decent list for people to vote upon. I figure the bacta one is worth putting into the poll just as much as the demo one. I'm going to give it half an hour then set up the poll I think with what we've got there. If anyone has any problems do post before then here. I will check. Don't PM me or it will just kick me out of the forums. ========================================== EDIT: As it stands the options for the poll are as follows: How do bacta tanks work? Will you be able to place your troops in there during a battle or before/after a battle? Also how long and how much health will it give the units? How do you repair vehicles? Can you give us any information on what you plan to include in any possible demo, and what features and modes we can expect to see? Is there any information you can give as to how base building and expansion going to be handled both on the planet and for space stations? Will large ships be produced out in the open and will we be able to see them slowly be built? What can we expect in terms of the average length of both an individual skirmish and an entire campaign? Feedback is very useful because I'd like to get this out as quickly as possible. Tell me to get rid of questions here or add new ones. This is important because none of us want bad questions out there, and I don't want to be held responsible if it ends up that way. -

For the rebels it might be cool to see some old republic kind of colours on them. Blue stripes and whatnot. No camoflage though. But it's all looking good there. -

I don't know. If we were to ask: Can you give us any information on what you plan to include in any possible demo, and what features and modes we can expect to see? I mean, they could say no. But as far as I'm concerned that's pretty reasonable and open to interpretation. =============================== Looking at the original 10 planned, I took out the ones we had deemed unecessary or have already made it in. The ones as they remain are: (and do correct me if I have them wrong or made poor choices of which to remove and keep). 1. How is base building/expansion going to be handled? 5. Will there be an artificial population cap/limit? 6. Will large ships be produced out in the open and will we be able to see them slowly be built? 9. What is the average length of a battle/ campaign? Add to this list Ghostly's question and the demo one (possibly rephrased), and also any others that mods can come up with quicky we all agree on. With that we have a list of possibilities for a poll. Set one up in general discussion for 24 hours and then post the original 4 and popular 5th to Delphi. That ok with everyone? -
I've seen more of the old original series than the more recent adaption. What I did see was cool though. Bit odd how they made Starbuck female though, never got why they did that.

I figure we need to decide on at least 5-10 suggestions to put in a poll for general discussion. If we want to do that we need to make that initial list today. Unfortunately not many of the mods are coming up with ideas at the moment. Like I said, Ghostly's bacta question should make it into the poll. I figure we might want to appease the masses with a demo related question. Not release date obviously, but something about it. -
Thank you for the time and effort you put it Junker. I can appreciate with English being a second language he amount extra you would have to put in. The info is very much appreciated. I remember seeing these in tons of screenshots, but I always wondered what they meant. This is very useful to use against them to see what was going on in them.

Some suggestions follow, since noboady else seems to be coming up with anything. (And yes I'm being hypocritical posting a second time when I suggested not to in the first place, but I figure it's not such a big issue now) 1) Is there any limit to how many heroes can be on a battlefield at one time? 2) What can we expect in the way of interactive landscapes. How does the landscape react to the presence of your troops and what effects do the various landscapes have upon them? 3) Is it possible for hero units change sides? For example are we able to have an Imperial Leia or a Rebel Tarkin, or are hero sides pre-determined? I may add more, but I can't think of any just yet. Also I like ghostly's bascta tank one. We aught to put that in the poll for general discussion when we make it. -
Very likely I'll go for it. It's on the list. I just like the idea that this isn't only traditional western fantasy. I love the look of the side with all the 'arabian nights' kind of buildings and their crazy war machines. It's a look I haven't seen in many RTS'.

As long as you give them ample reason as to why it's being locked that's fine. Last time I saw the poll the majority agreed that the questions were decent, which is what we decided yesterday, so there should be enough reason that the poll has served its purpose.. Also yes, I felt that way about Thrawn yesterday, which is why I was so quick to shut him down today. Last thing we need is another discussion like that about the 5th one.

The ones from basic to highly trained might be very difficult to distinguish on the battlefield. As it is it's almost like a 'spot the difference'. The markings like that are a bit too dark to tell there's any difference. -
The First Four Questions, Do you agree?

Ok, I'm going to allow this because it's what people think of the first four questions, but I'd ask that you let the mods handle the questions from now on to avoid some of the chaotic posting we saw yesterday. We appreciate your efforts there, but the discussion has been taken to the maw, where we hope to co-ordinate things a lot better. I've changed the title to reflect that this is for people to agree over the first four only. We will have a poll up determining the 5th question in due course, please bear with us, and please don't open any more threads about the questions. -

It's not it's stupid, it's just something that will no doubt resolve itself naturally anyway. Longer term questions and answers are what we're looking for. Things which will effectively fill the void until a demo.

If we're to go back to the old list: 8. Can you reveal any new details on the multiplayer? Such as how the server list be set up, will there be a stats system, will there be a quick player match up based off stats (if there is a stats system), and what measures are being taken to prevent cheating? Seems like a very useful one to know about don't you think? My opinion anyhow. There are others I like as well (see the Maw). EDIT: and six pages. W00t to the max.

How many hero units can you have on a battlefield at one time? Ever thought of that? I am thinking multiplayer primarily here.

I like the bit about the possibility of adding new factions. I figure that could be worked in.

The 2nd question is about adding new factions and units not about giving an example of the XML files. We know we can add them. Modders want an idea how exactly. I prefered the old way it was posed. It at least cut to what we wanted to know.

Someone rephrase question 3 there for goodness sake. Something like: Is it possible for the use of diplomacy to persuade planets to join your side, or are we resticted to only invasion via the ground portion in order to gain control of the planet?

I like Ghostly's (might be Fosh's, this thread confused me a bit) current list and I think that the XML question is a damn good one compared to some of the basic ones I've seen. That's another mod who agrees.

I don't have agreat deal of time to spend on this whole 5 questions thing right now, but from that old list I like: 1, 3, 8, 9, 10 The other list in general discussion is a shambles, I can hardly figure out what's going on there. Perhaps someone aught to set up a poll with all the possible questions like last time.
