  1. Three weeks, that's a short amount of time left for all of us waiting. Congrats with the demo success. Thanks for the active role you're having in the community. Looking forward to Vader vs Ben.
  2. I wouldn't mind playing the demo, but then I'd feel bad for taking your number. But if someone could gives some pros and cons about playing the beta that would be cool, since I'm likely to get it when it comes out and just want some honest opinions.
  3. Sounds ok, but still a bit early to tell how it'll turn out. As one of the few who liked Armada 1 (modded to hell and back) and had no love of 2, this new venture could go either way for me. Not hooked with what they have yet.
  4. Thank you SirNuke. I'm sure it will be appreciated.

    We're back!

Ok, I'm here. No bugs that I can see. You've done an excellent job of the transfer JI.
  6. Now those looks like some epic space battles. Vader vs Obi is cool too. Ben looks less like a giraffe in that shot, so I have hopes they adjusted the model to make his head fit on his shoulders better.
  7. So any idea when we'll get the e-mail? Have they been sent yet?
  8. Look, even if they don't gain experience who is to say that you can't grow attatched to them. The moment you name them they become more than just a regular unnamed vessel. The fact that they won't be acknowledged in game as veterans doesn't take the fun away from it, it just means that because they're on equal footing with every other ship of its class the decisions you make to engage or not engage it are all the more important. Strong leaders will engage it despite the chances of loss. Cautious ones might keep it as a saving grace when under attack. These would all just be normal, expendable ships without a personally named fleet. It makes every potential battle unique to the player. I won't say I don't miss experience, but to begin to find this feature we asked for so long ago as a mundane element without any experience implemented is a bit short sighted. Come on guys, it's better to have it than not. Much better.
  9. I thought they made site updates on fridays? Wouldn't it make more sense to expect to see it on a friday? (Which would probably make the 20th the earliest possible release) I dunno, I'm guessing here. Tuesday would be cool though, it would give me something to look forward to after a full day on campus.
  10. I went pff.swrebellion.com. I'd have prefered something more recognisable or memorable, but I suppose this will be more than adequate.
  11. I'm interested to see how far back they've actually put the release for the demo. Call me a pessimist, but with it not coming since I was away, I have a bad feeling we could be talking February despite what others have said. Then again that might just me being negative. I'm interested to find out what it is.
  12. My personal opinion is that you guys are nitpicking. So Han isn't killed in one blast. To be honest I could see more people complaining come demo day if he did. Gameplay before realism. From what I see he loses a decent amount of damage from that AT-St and AT-AT. In the thick of battle I would venture to imagine he's be taken down very quickly. Hence Han isn't god. He's a hero, not god. He's a hero, not a regular trooper. A balance has to be come by, and from that video Petroglyph don't seem far off. Thinking about a system where shots miss at this stage is a bit redundant, since to implement it now would likely require a complete ground battle overhaul. Han and Chewie together take out two units, two units which are both vehicles. From the look of things that's what their skills are precisely set up to do. Against a legion or two of stormtroopers I bet the outcome is considerably different. This video was set up to show what they can do, not how quickly they die to specific units.
  13. OK guys I'm back, but I've got some bad news. I've taken a long time thinking it over and I've come to the lengthy decision to resign as a moderator. Before you all think this is because of some negative forum element or another, this is entirely for personal reasons. I no longer find the time to moderate, that's all. I'm still sticking around on the forums as a regular, so this isn't a goodbye, just a notice to let you know I'm shortly to be (or am, depending how late you get to this) no longer a mod. My last post in the maw, I'll cyas around in the other discussion areas. It's been fun. Good luck with the moderating and admining. Mark.
  14. Because others might be in the same boat there, I retyped the article for anyone on a slow connection or who can't view it. Here the article ends, because it originally continues to a page we do not have. Also on the page we have: There are also some pictures and their captions, but nothing worth quoting without the appropriate pics. Hope that helps some people.
  15. Sorry about that. From your previous posts you made no indication of being able to help, that's all. I didn't mean to suggest anything other except that your ideas so far have been beneficial, that's all. 'Human' as a race I think we can get away with. Imagine how many references to 'human' there are on the entire web. But I do agree with you in principle, we need decent codenames for each of them. A seperate forum really woudn't go amiss. This one thread here is hardly going to help beyond a point, whereas a full forum is generally more precise and co-ordinated.
  16. I feel it would work well. Screenshots and even replays if they allow them. Everyone loves to show off their best fleets, ships and epic battles.
  17. @Fosh: Already have that same thought about Gamer. Doubt it though. Zone didn't, but I'll keep my eyes open.
  18. Ok, it's got to that time where all of my three 3000 word essays are done, the university tem is about to end and I have to head back home for christmas to feed cats/my brother. Basically we have a naff internet connection there which is barely better than none at all, so I won't be able to join you at all here until I get back here around mid January. It tears me up that I'm going to miss the demo release, but this was always going to be the way unless they released it before tomorrow. I'm going to try to find my way online to keep an eye on it. I should be around on and off the forums until tomorrow if you desperately need me, but since when have you ever needed me? So basically, Merry Christmas and enjoy your demo. I'll see you all in the new year. PS: It's ok to miss me.
  19. Hell, I like this idea. Personally would like to see it MGS1 over 2 (so Rex ) but I suppose if you did a MGS2 one the future's always bright for additional prequal maps. And heroes wise you've got so many to choose from... for both sides. I'd really love to see Otacon on the battlefield
  20. You're too late for any potential changes, the questions were collected yesterday. Cain's last message shows confirmation that Delphi recieved them and will have them back by tomorrow. Besides that was one of the original four questions. If people had problem with those they had plenty of opportunity to voice those concerns.
  21. I think the majority of regular posters are all male. I dont mean to offend any female posters, but from the look of things the forums are very much dominated by the male Star Wars and RTS fans. It's just the way it is.
  22. PFF as a name is fine for me, although I do dislike the 'clan' bit. It's fine as it is, we don't need anything fancy really. A logo would be cool though. I don't know how much we'll all use it, but it would be cool to see what people come up with.
  23. Ok, the mods have been seriously discussing the fifth question to ask Delphi and we have narrowed it down to five choices. You have a choice of these five and no others. Although there is an option for another one of your choosing, given time restrictions there is little to no chance of these making the cut, but we will take note of them just in case. Please do not spam the thread with additional questions, only post additional ones if you voted other, and please only the one question. Let's try to keep this organised. Thank you. Your choices are as follows: 1) How do bacta tanks work? Will you be able to place your troops in there during a battle or before/after a battle? Also how long and how much health will it give the units? How do you repair vehicles? 2) Can you give us any information on what you plan to include in any possible demo, and what features and modes we can expect to see? 3) Is there any information you can give as to how base building and expansion going to be handled both on the planet and for space stations? 4) Will large ships be produced out in the open and will we be able to see them slowly be built? 5) What can we expect in terms of the average length of both an individual skirmish and an entire campaign?
  24. Ok, since there have been no major complaints I'm going to set up the poll with what we have here. Since it's nearly midnight here and I've got an essay and sleep to do, I'm going to let you other mods handle the mayhem that will happen with its release. Feel free to adapt the poll if you and other mods have problems with it, but part of me feels we really need to get this done or we're not going to hit the deadline Delphi gave us, hence getting it done now as opposed to later. EDIT: Let the fun begin.
  25. Welcome to the maw @Popcorn: I'm going to keep the demo one in because there are lots of people out there who want a demo question and not to give them the option seems unfair. As it is it's cleaned up from 'When's the Demo out', so I think that's not too bad. Hell, even a bad answer for what we've got now wouldn't be that bad, since we're getting the demo soon enough anyway. I'll remove it if everyone hates it though. So is that it? Everyone happy?
