  1. Well, your recent releases are perhaps some of the most refreashing and beautiful ingame models to date Mask, bro! The winged Mon Calamari cruiser is a shear joy to behold, and as an Imperial, absolute Nirvana to take on head to head and incinerate! Though I must confess to have built one or two myself as an Imperial. The millenium Falcon is superb; and now of course can give the game a very real authentic movie feel. The Corvette is sublime... pure and simple... Respect Mask.
  2. Promising. The text I can help with not. Any of you well read Thrawn dudes got anything that could fit into Vader's card text? If you have, or you feel you can; whack it here! Along similar lines; we're going to need similar images of Nogri for other stuff in the TC, anyone got any good stuff?
  3. Dude, I think after these years you owe it to us to actually post us a page or two of Hutt Illustrated! What do you reckon, what manor of gibberish could possibly be contained amongst the articles.... ???
  4. What Trej said is of course right... and i'm not just refering to SOCL's legendry status around here as the Dark Lord of Explainations (he is a teacher after all lol) but anyway, it's never made sense that 3/4's of the Imperials fighters can't retreat to their surface hangers; come to that the rebels if they're confidant planetary shields can hold out against bombardment; absolutely something for programing consideration... ...I wish I knew how to do it myself though Anyway, given the talent around here that can be seen in the downloads section I don't think we're have to wait terribly long, given all we've achieved without the game's source code!
  5. Unfortunately, we've got to leave him out of any equation. Despite being (almost) as lost to Star Wars in general as I am in life, he's got to much going on in his life to make time for PC games. Believe me, I have tried to get him here, even on the back of the gibberish we've been posting in Outside Interests, but he simply doesn't have that much time. He'll probably be up to answering questions via email though..
  6. Err... well i've already confessed to being a complete PC clueless-one, so I was quite shocked when my friend Jethro suddenly appeared from China on my doorstep yesterday evening, just dropping by inbetween business in Europe. When I shuved him in the direction of my PC (twas where I planted his can of beer..) he started rattling off stuff that went way over my head, but basically suggested cracking the game's source code shouldn't actually be that that hard.. he muttered more stuff about reverseing the program language... languages with names like python... drank his beer and rushed off... Me no expert, so I know not what he was saying, other than the confidance inwhich he was saying it! Bear in mind this is someone who I grew up with in inner-London, got into his martial arts, figured he wanted to learn Mandarin, studied it, learnt it, moved to Beijing, speaks it fluently (always amusing when he gets a call from China in a pub with him...people look on open mouthed), married, has now a beautiful daughter, set up an expanding business exporting stones, and leaves me with heaps of DVDs every time he 'passes by!' But he knows his PC stuff like the back of his hand. He was actually the first person I knew who had 'Elite'on the ancient BBC PC... remember that? Seems now like playing a game staring at the starfield screen saver... But anyway, jet lagged and perhaps overlooking stuff he might have been; as I say i'm in the dark here, but it did sound interesting... Podracing?!?!? Igor... i'm after stuff like a hundred character each side, five hundred system galaxy; plus half that in deep-space empty sectors, eight fighter option each side galaxy setting... kind of thing
  7. Have we figured out then if this dude is Neil Ross or Tom Kane? This, with respect to stuff elsewhere, I would like to know!
  8. This like characters or troops you move around without using ships, is using the added element of imagination; thoughs TIES are presumably packed up into crates and loaded onto frieghters, troops given vacation and told to report in at a new system, and characters take that luxory cruise liner to that ne destination.... figures why it takes so long... My way of looking at the issue...
  9. Now there's an idea! Chuck in Vegetable Vong in the Sarlac Pit as well! Jawas, Vong... Maybe EV-9D9... all slowly digesting for a coupl of hundred years... what company! The very thought is enough to scramble for the gates of Hades and demand to be let in as a less painful alternative.
  10. If you are reading this look up to the top ofthe page and observe 'profile', you can edit your avatar in there. You have to access it via an open forum not from your personal info. I think.
  11. I fairly confident that it's the lower the better; hence the description in the game manual with one of the highest dmg control ratings in the game; in short they take bloody ages to repair! Think how quickly Carracks and Corvettes repair.. Anyway, it makes sense; it's the differance between repairing a modern Cruise liner or modern warship and a your average fishing trawler... I reckon by experiance... I think...
  12. Good on you bro! ...and thoughs folks giving you two a hard time: indeed we shall send them to the all powerful Sarlac, but only after we've thrown in a half a dozen jawas to completely freak them out over the course of their five hundred year digestion period...
  13. Gosh! Thankiness lots guys! I shall pass this info on to him. The thought of my old man not being able to listen to his 70's Hawkwind, Steve Miller, and Led Zeb Lps is... well to dreadfull to contemplate.. though i'm a little confused why he simply hasn't gone and purchased them, remastered, on CD like I have... There's nothing like a few chords of a 'Whole lot of love,' on your alarm clock first thing in the morning to piss off an unsuspecting girlfriend and get you to the shower, usually via her feet...
  14. Fair be Mask dude, i've actually got a bit of egg on my face on this one because 'the scum anachists' I refered to (just after yet another PC crash) didn't actually ruin the day for the people who wanted to exercise their democratic right to protest against George Bush. About 100,000 people from every walk of life made a heck of a lot of noise in central London, and it wasn't marred by the sad souls who get carried away by the impact marching with 100,000 other people can have; and start 'smashing things up' as I also said. I was quite surprised, but obviously glad it didn't kick off. I think the general thrust of my ire to the people who cause mayhem on such marches is they take the platform away from law-abiding people like me (I do my best and the issues we're basically marching for. The media are fairly basic; a riot makes better front page headlines and images than a brief scuffle over crowded congestion for example; the right wing collumists have also something to rant and rave about in their columns... Anyway, I wasn't on the march; I was trying to work and just majorly inconvenianced by it. It went on all afternoon and was directly cutting central London in half. Every bloody time I wanted to get from the West End into the City, and visa versa, there was a mass of drum-beating bloody people in my way. It would have been easier on a push bike. The cops were having none of my desperate 'I'm self employed; paid by the job' type of protests, 'you can get round it via the Euston Road or the South Bank, was their reply.' Mumble... grumble... Anyway, forgive me for my earlier venom; i've been on to many marches and protests in the past which have been ruined not by heavy handed police methods, but by the minority who do things like deface public monuments to Churchill; and thus the rememberance of folks like my grandfather who was a real warrior in WW2, and do their best to provoke the cops... Sad and pathetic actions that ruin a day of democratic protest for the rest of us. Anyway, wierdly enough, I feel it's a little unfair to heep the woes of the world on Bushes' sholders; but that's a another topic for a forum far, far away... Lifesign? Oh yeah! I'm still here... just about...
  15. Kermit the Frog, surely!
  16. Who knows what svchost.exe is? I've realized now i'm getting an error message popping up after about ten minutes of being online informing me 'svchost.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will have to restart the program. An error log is being created.' Yesterday, to my horror, I was able to do everything I can't before this frequent error message pops up. I believe this is may be it. BTW: Just on a completely seperate note; my Dad, who lives in Canada, asked me how he can transfer his collection of vinal records via his PC to compact disk. I of course, am completely clueless...
  17. Ummm... could someone please explain why after i've had my windows reinstalled after a PC crash I can't copy and paste http address/url-links between outlook/windows? I can't even click on my own stuff half the time, let alone the stuff everybody else links! It's really frustrating! I feel naked without an armoury of visual gibberish to keep my posts company. Helpiness dudes!
  18. Jahled

    Should/could we?

I wonder how none of really touched upon this before! If Lucas Arts don't won't to devulge the game's source code, they might be more forthcomming with questions concerning some of the stuff Resource Hacker has unveiled...such as these missions and their original vision and placing in the game... who knows, if someone gets some hit of reaction from the guys at Lucas Arts the TC might infact be able to include some of the unused strings... that would be a real touch to present to the Star Wars Gaming community on behalf of this site's member's efforts; nothing would give me at least more pride as one of the members here!
  19. Here, here! Anyway, it's just occured to me I haven't played a game unmodified by RebEd for...errr.. years now... So as far as the game's original settings go i'm not realy qualified to comment on. Umm... how on earth did I get anywhere playing the Empire on 'expert' without 'helpfull' RebEd modifications... I did it once or twice before I discovered this site and did stuff like halve all settings... good grief I must have spent half the time meditating in front of the screen... it seems so long ago... I think i'll shudder now and not dare see what's up in the multiplayer forums....
  20. Err... no! Closing London Underground would be a tab paranoid in the extreme, and anyway, the cynical British public would be pretty peeved off! I'm simply amazed at the scale of George Bush's security; it's like some Emperor moving court from the ancient world. Having just watched the news, apparently there have been some minor clashes, giving the cops a hard time, which is what makes my blood boil so much. I believe in the next couple of days I might just be ashamed to be British. I cannot stand these protester types who give it the large to police people (just doing their job, preserving public order) and then start smashing things up. None of them can fight, all they can do is smash and vandalise. They destroy the platform from which more moderate and reasoned people with anti-war oppinions can state their points of view. In fact they sicken me. They're the same mob who smash up European cities at G8 summits. Yes, bring people over to your coarse by smashing their town centres. They do not represent British public opinion either. A poll in the left-wing broadsheet, The Guardian, (which I read every day) basically states that the British public welcome George Bush, and agree with our military presance in Iraq; the more so it seems, given the attempts by Islamic fascists to destroy attempts to rebuild Iraqi society. So don't let images of American flags being burnt think that that is a representation of my society. It is not.
  21. Gosh I was a foul mood last night! I was down at Buckingham Palace today and I have never seen so many Police in my life. Ever. Well cruising around Central London I didn't see to many 'Protesters,' but I think it's all going to kick of tomorrow and Friday.
  22. Err... well my PC is quite frankly majorly shagged... I paid someone £80 to get it back to it's feet and while i've got basic stuff going, attempting to do 'advanced stuff' like surf the net seems a right head-shag anytime before i'm destined to pass out after a day surfing traffic on a bike... about 11:30PM Uk time... I did take the time to leave a message on the guy's answer machine tonight to inform him if I ever see him again it will be murder... which it will be. I'm going to punch his lights out; in one. Rage over. Forgive me. I just have the prospect of hoards of cops, scum-anachists, and other stupid trash getting in my way all week here in London.
  23. Oh Shsss! I'm sure Maskiness can warp and distort a sound file for a Stormtrooper file at least! If you're worried, record your 'bit' speaking through something that will muffle you voice or the like, failing that smoke 20 or so camels in as many five minute segmants; it tends to lower your octive range considerably, mix with careless beer consumption; and WOO! You're ready to voice over any part of rebellion! Later tonight, perhaps i'll attempt to replicate the entire R2-D2 squeeks and whistles i've heard in the game. Any that I can't achieve poisoning myself by smoking and shagging my liver consuming unhealthy quantities of beer; i'll round up my cat and record him as I squeeze and torture him... err...umm... perhaps not...err... No seriously, RECORD SOUND FILES YOU MUST! The more Mask has the better! Come on dudes, flood him with stuff we must, this is going to be the TC thrown large at the whole Star Wars community; our efforts from this web site, we can't have the same people voicing every role in the game! Think of the fame! Lucas Arts; despite their indifferance probe sites concerning their games as a course of copyright! Someone there is going to have a look at our project!
  24. Well now! Maskiness Dude is a Warlord! Congratiness my friend, long may you honor us with your presance and enrich our games. As you may have noticed in the absense of Animated Gif posts at the moment, my PC is seriously shagged, and I'm unable to post stuff, which is a shame because you would have got the fireworks WOO HAR the likes of which the galaxy has not yet seen... untill I figure out what the hell is going on with my PC, it is on hold... BTW: Remember Jet Set Willy on the ZX-Spectrum? That Monty Python foot recalled 'game over' in that game..
  25. Yes, I'm curious about this as well. The only (perhaps mis-informed observation) I have of weapon recharge is with powerful capital ships capability to similantious blast with turbo lasers and ion canons... And informed response, someone?
