I was getting a little worried you took it the wrong way!
-
Resist this not I can.... Yo! Dude! Go for it! Yea! Woo! Let us Know if you need a hand!

Oh for goodness sake! Chicken to farm yard duck: 'Yo Mr Duck! I happen to know for a fact i'm destined to become a member of the clergy!' 'No shit Rooster bro! How the hell you figure that score out? That's deep!' 'Well, I over heard the farmers saying i'd make an excellent frier...!' Gulp! Holy deep-fat fast-food kitchen componants! Err... Yo Mr Rooster, but I am out of here! Good luck!'

Why? And do you mean Republican as in North-American politics?

Chile is 'at the edge of the western world,' and well, hell; I can hide behind Bolivia and Peru... lots of hiding space... lots of trees and branches, and leaves not to be noticed among... sort of thing... ... I could just stay still and pretend to be a lessor known red-beaked gum-flower parrot untill Elvis stops rotating his head and freaking me out, munching contently on grubs and wild berries, squawking pointlessly, and rumaging for tropical lice..... the bliss...
-
As per normal i'm out in my own wierd cosmos... and you dudes didn't get my dreadful pun... Coward: Chicken! Frier: Think KFC or your local Chinese... so... err... oh nevermind!!

What are people's 5 ESSENTIAL wants for Reb2?
Jahled replied to Chimera's topic in Rebellion 2 Ideas
Not so much as you guys think! In order to achieve all the basic possibilities for a perfect Second Rebellion, all we need is the game's basic program code. Obviously, Lucasarts are the bunch of *%&£$%"£^&")" I care not to name, for they have no never expressed interest in any development of the game. Their steadfast refusal, as policy, in rejecting us any program information in the game gives me course for anger. It is software they have abandoned for over six years now, and material they have obviously have had no plans for ever expanding upon. This at least is enough for the brave few to keep fighting for! We can loose nothing other than our respect for the licence-holder of a franchise we all love. CHARGE!!! For our opponents are a bunch of *****. -
Yo! Elvis dude! What's not to get? Golly, if you're still stumped go to your bathroom, look in the mirror, and see if you can slap your head 360d I'd be mighty freaked out if you reprt that you can, and might just consider rushing to somewhere remote in Chile... Yum umm...
-
Perhaps our friend is destined for a place in the clergy... though what puzzels me is his bravery a while a go rules this out; because he's obviously not a coward, and there for can't become a frier...

Dude, do not freak out. The Japanese era of the 'floating world' truely had nothing on the reality of life with the internet. I read a post of his somewhere recently he was doing some work for Deloitte Touche, who are a very big financial institution; we had them as an account here in London when I was a chauffeur controller, and their account was, well, worth serious bucks to the company but a right bloody nightmere to look after. Just because someone is seriously overpaid for doing their part in shuving society towards the gob of Mammon; does it give them a fundermental right of giving me as their provider of transport a headache??? NAY! These guys would moan about the cost of their Mercedes S-class chauffeur driven transport from the city of London to Heathrow or Gatwick somehow overlooking the fact I had their return job picking them up from concord for example a couple of days later already on my screen! Scum. And they generally all lived in the richest parts of London my monthly rent couldn't tender for a day at their dwellings. Scum. Err.. Ummm... oh whoops... rantiness Jahled wandered off upon.... Bad memories of a former job...

Well dude, as you may have tracked along this thread, some of of us have tried to extract some information from Lucasarts, without that much success, other than Scathe's lead of communication with one of the game's developers. And no, we haven't launched a sustained email attack on what seems like the nemesis organized via this site, because it would be largely pointless. Lucasarts gave up on Rebellion shortly after it's release. Quite why I don't know, because it lives up to what it was always sold as; managing a galaxy! Whether or not the game's limited scope for expansion denied it further development and/or suppoort remains to be seen, but we can't ignore the fact the gaming community as a whole essentially had no time for the game. It will remains to be seen how much positive effect the RebEd has had on the endurance of the game, personally I think it has been essential to this site's game development; to the extent I realize exactly why I for one keep playing this old game. Without RebEd I would not have tolerated the crap images of Bane Nothos for example and continued to engoy the game. So, our editor enables us, and that's anybody with any attachment to the game, to mold it to their perception of the Star Wars Universe. How many other games can enable you to do that? We have superior new models to import, new programing to expand the game's scope, and an endless list of possibilities with RebEd's card creation expanse... the game is in short almost limitless! It's not as flash as Homeworld, nor as liquid as a first person shooter; but the game was never anything but a very basic galactic engine, requiring imagination; which I for one can live with... we've got models that now are looking like some other era compared to the originals of the game. Umm. Err. Email campaign? Lucasarts arn't going to reward are devotion to this game with anything other than silence. We've tried. What we really need is the game's source code to crack all the stuff we realize for the game, but arn't able to do... along the lines of all the ideas in the rebellion2 thread. This we can acieve if we had the basic programing of the game. Feel free to bombard lucasarts for this information, for I personally grow tired of not being able to capture rebel ships, leave my fleets hidden in 'empty space,' and being restricted to four types of Imperial fighter when I Have at leat twelve TIE varients to unleash doom upon the rebel vermin.... In short, your's could be a galactic idea....

Indeed... nevermind...

Just one other little method of increasing one's chances of finding the Alliance HQ early in the game is when you successfully espionage an alliance system in the inner rim and see the destination of, for example, a construction yard's mine say, to a system in the outer rim. The AI tends to take it's time gertting going out there so there is a very high chance it will be the system with their HQ. However, I tend to play as Hastings suggested these days with a fully colonized galaxy with every sector set on high importance. (you have to manually do Yavins' sector) It's not going to matter that much that you start the game knowing where the HQ is, because on hard the Empire is not going to be able to spare enough ships to take it out at the beginning of the game, or for that matter a coupl of hundred days. If it can it's because you've tweeked the original settings using RebEd. And when you finally can, the HQ will have long gone. However, having just said all that, for any Imperial Commanders who are unsure whether they will be able to hold them selves back and contain their fury and patience knowing where the HQ is at game start, you can always give Alliance HQ's system a couple of Ion cannons... it is hard serving the Emperor so loyaly.

Gentlemen. Thinking, like boiling an egg, must come to evential end. Some Zen-dude said: ' When butterflies come to the newly planted flowers, I know not.' Likewise, the cocktail stick i've been chewing for four hours is almost at an end. Nothing could be deeper. [/b]

Err...dude... that's a very odd request, given most of the game for the Empire is the joy is finding and locating that 'nest of rebel vermin.' Nothing rips a broader smile across my face as much as that capital-ship low rumble of an Imperial Fleet entering the orbit of the Alliance HQ system, without hope... without any chance... without any real defence... Are you sure you want to expell this lovely element of discovery from your game? It's like discovering America... and well... incinerating it...

WOOO! ..for Lord_La_Forge is so stealthy...

Until The_Mask can figure out a chime or two here, remember that all of his models can be imported into the game using the old way using Resouce Hacker! Even the newer models where he says a prerequixist is his model importer program, can be imported using the old fashioned method. So don't freak out or loose heart. Whilst the objective of the program is to make life seriously easier than all that fumbling about using resource hacker, which is a process which is a right bloody hassle period, you can always fall back on the option of getting your fingers saw...

Emm.. actually they were never available from this site since i've been here, the ZIP files you fefer to were downloadable from a now non-existant site where John Stone uploaded all of his cards (available on this site in the card section). However this is something I touched upon with the webmasters before Christmas (and have recieved no reply as yet) BUT; in the mean time if any of you guys want to have the basic backgrounds to the game for card projects; namely the extensive backgrounds zip-file, email me and i'll be more than happy to share with what is getting dusty on my hard drive! My backgrounds have moved onto stuff I can screen-capture from the movie DVDs; check out the excellant Chiss-Fighter, Advanced-TIE, and TIE-Phantom cards recently uploaded by Lord_La_Forge for what I mean... the background is Tattooine from TPM, and I think far more interesting than the game's original backgrounds... in short, it's better to be original....?

Gosh! I'm completely taken back by the magnitude of the dweebness here! You guys should take more care, it might be...err...a little dangerous.... I am concerned...

No disrespect to the main man, The_Mask, but: If you are experiancing difficulty with operating his excellant model-importer program (it is a little tricky to get your head around) you can still import his superb new models into the game the old fashioned way using resource-hacker... The replacements for the Nebulon-Frigate and Corellion Corvette are the best i've ever seen, and if you want a replacement card for the corvette that really rocks to the extreme, check out Lord_La_Forge's recent upload of a Corellian Corvette; it is the best ship card I have ever seen. By using Mask's new model for the Nebulon you also get the opportunity to do something that has bugged me for years, replace the Bulk Cruiser with something better for the rebels from the outset, that is also got more of a Star Wars feel...

One billion out of ten guys! 'Ok...gulp...gurgle...after the break, 'Am I an individual? We put the question to TK-421 who says he has a serious identity problem... he says he doesn't feel valued or unique, and thinks he was neglected in his childhood by his parents...not, he confesses, that he has any recollection of them...and this is this the course of presant serious suicidle rushes to his head he frequently suffers...' So stay with us... Turns to audiance and Emperor Palpatine sitting next to Dodanna, both whooping deleriously....

I think he means something like...err...well... Jerry Springer.... 'Hi, I'm Luke, and i'm a jedi-Knight.' 'Ok, that's our first guest, welcome to the show, and well, let me get this right, but you have a serious identitiy problem with your father! Is that correct?' 'Well, he does represent the ultimate evil in the galaxy, which pisses me off a little, plus he wears all this stupid black-samurai-armour stuff, which well, is kind of humiliating, being related; kind of thing, it's just not cool...' 'Ok, well, we've heard it from the sibling, lets here it from the father; please welcome, DARTH VADER, Dark Lord of the Sith, to the show!' cheers, general hoots and calls for mayhem... ...chaos and disorder... as Lord Vader enters the studio slicing LA's finest off-duty police officers in half as they try to contain his rage... 'Welcome! Lord Vader, please calm down, have a chair, this is your son, Luke; do you have anything to say?' ...Springer is now wisely situated towards the rear of the studio... 'YES! JOIN ME MY SON, TOGETHER WE CAN BE MORE POWERFUL THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE! TOGETHER WE CAN DEFEAT THE EMPEROR AND RULE THE GALAXY AS FATHER AND SON!' 'Not while i'm alive!' ...Gunshots...laser-fire... 'It's me kid!' Stares blankly at resulting chaos... as if about to say something... ...etc...

Emmm. A great deal of what can be deemed 'funny' and 'humerous' on the web exists in contexts that contain other stuff you might not want to dwell upon. Fair enough, I opened a portal to a hilarious site that also contains adult stuff. Woops. That post is so old, I can safely say it was during more innocent days when it comes to linking stuff with direct url links. I apologize if other stuff contained on the site was a cause of... misunderstanding... Anyway, if you took any offence into the deleated posted image links, please forgive me; it's taken me all day to figure out the exact nature of the gif. Dah! Aged 32! It could be said you've jumped into the rescue before any further loss of face could be had. Yikes! Wake up a bit more before I post stuff. I was so happy my PC hadn't crashed while I could copy and paste stuff as well. There you go. Dinochick: My apology! I would like to think you've known me time enough that I would never dwell upon stuff that would be offensive to anybody. Sorry. Sometimes you screw up in life. Upon this occassion I did. It was unintentional as it was unforeseen... I simply hadn't grasped the entire context of the gif.

There used to be some stuff here, but it's gone.

Simple! Set up a free MSN newsgroup. It's free, gives you a basic amount of webspace to host files, and you have the option of upgrading. Check out the MSN homepage to get started, but remember to keep all your settings 'public' otherwise your url links to the site wont work... ...I think... but it's free...
