I agree that vader/aniken brought balance to the force, but I see it a little differently. I feel that by becoming Vader and destroying the jedi except yoda and a few in hiding that you find out about in the expanded universe and by he and the Emperor training more in the dark side of the force it evens out the playing field. I was using windows 98. How do you change what os the game runs under La Forge?-GM Conway

Well I have finally upgraded to a new Dell with XP and so far my previous problems with crashes in the game have not occured. Needless to say I am thrilled. As I haven't yet transferred all of the files from my old computer I'm playing the original without the benefit of Rebed, but it's still fun. I must admit I miss my version of things though so I am impatient for my tech to get down here and hook the two computers together for me to transfer the necessary files. Anyway it looks like Jedi Igors advice to go to XP to solve my crashing dilemma was a good call.-Grand Moff Conway

As far as I know EW has been out of the community for quite some time. I used to have his e-mail address, but have long since lost it. Mylock and Talon "Nemisis" Karde have also not been around for quite a while although Nemesis was the last one I saw in the forums. I tend to send the characters on separate subdue uprising missions, it seems to give me better results. I use Imperial commandos as well if they are around and available. I don't have too much trouble with these missions and have never lost a character on one.-GM Conway

Definately an interesting situation. I almost always use the A1 to resolve battles and am usually happy with the results. Of course as a diehard Imperial I would never give the rebel scum the advantage of Deathstars or SSD's so I needn't worry about this situation.-GM Conway

I like Thrawn as a tactical genius and a hope for a renewed glorious Empire. I thought that his death stunk and showed how allmost all star wars writers make the good guys win in a fight between the Empire and the rebel scum. I don't read the newer books but it sounds like the Vong are at least destroying the rebublic scum.-Grand Moff Conway

My favorite movie is The Empire Strikes Back because it shows the Empire kicking the rebel scums butts. Vader is at his best when he tries to corrupt Lukie and the empire is triumphant. I hated the ending of RotJ so much, even though I knew Lucas would make the rebels win. - Grand Moff Conway

Well is it? I realize that you would loose the game but the mission is possible to do. I was tired of Luke running around and an espionage mission pinpointed him at Yavin. So for the hell of it I sent out an assasination mission on him. I was surprised it allowed me to order a mission that would loose the game for me, but it did. As it turned out he had moved again by the time my nohgris got there so I don't know the results that would have happened. It just makes me wonder if the game would actually allow him to die and me thus defeat myself.- GM Conway

Threepio may do an OK job for the rebels, but the imperial bot ( forget his name presently) only uses Darktroopers once they are available. I use altered units due to Rebed cards. Start out with Sentry robots or stormtroopers; then clone stormtroopers; next darktroopers; finally World Devestators. The sentry robots are cheapest at 1/1 the devestators are massive and cost 50/25 but are virtually indestructible. Come to think about it I haven't let the bot control things since before I started using Rebed; he'd probably use World Devestators which would be very costly indeed.-GM Conway

Scathane, Wayland is a planet in the Thrawn trilogy of books. It is the place where Emperor Palpatine had a hidden storehouse of spaarti cloning tanks, a useful prototype of a cloaking device, and was guarded by the mad jedi clone Jourus C'Boath (spelling may be wrong). Thrawn used the storehouse and made an uneasy alliance with C'Boath during his assault on the New Republic. He was winning a key battle when his personal bodyguard assassinated him.-GM Conway

I also use characters quite a bit, but I manage fleets, troops, and resource developement myself as well. In combat I generally let the A1 handle things and it works well. Since I build the fleets I am sure they are able to decimate the rebels even if the A1 is controlling the battle for me. I find that the robot doesn't handle garrisons or resources the way that I would, so I do that manually. I can't see using expensive Dark troopers for garrisons when clone stormtroopers at a build cost of 3 and maintenance cost of 1 do the job fine. -Grand Moff Conway

You do get some insights into Thrawns inner thoughts here and there. This helps make you yearn for more understanding of the character.- GM Conway
