Rebellion Fanatic Recruited by US Air Force
Trejiuvanat replied to Texas_Fett's topic in Outside Interests
A month just passes away too fast, Tex. Best of luck. -
You're a Swiss, mad. You know that a country can live without an army. The problem with communism is that a change towards it cannot happen in matter of a few years. As it involves a complete change in the paradigms of our world, the Intellectual classes do not have to be erradicated as they should take over the the control of the state rather than the financial elites, sure Stalin found it easier to erradicate them, cause he was a crazy paranoid who thought that everyone was plotting against them, and the intellectuals could bring the entire system down. Communism does not require a growth of the agrarian classes, quite the contrary it should require the growth of Urban Centers, since it needs to support itself on a healthy industry. I live in a "third-world" country and I know that it'd be alsmot impossible to hold communism around here, but our capitalism democracy isn't much better, either. Capitalist ambition are not part of the tru nature of man, they are the opposite, man evolved thanks to cooperation, now capitalism teaches us that alone competition will make us survive, and there is no such things as survival of the fittest, there's only survival of the most adaptable, and adaptation again requires cooperation. Sure there are animal instincts, that will undoubtely interfere with the sublime schemes of a state, but they have to be disposed of differently, if you eliminate money, and finances in General as communism wants to, you lose already one great problem of human nature, which is envy and you assure them a prosper situation. In sports and arts, a human mind is perfectly capable of achieving a catharsis, and liberate itself of the "wild" instincts.

It is not against human condition, its against the savage capitalism that we have nowadays and the own ambitions of the burgouise. Of all the countries in the world Imperial Russia was the less suited for a "communist" revolution, basically because Marx intended Communism to be adopted by the largely industrialized countries, his target was the proletariat not the peasants. 1917 Russia was mostly composed by peasants that lived in a quasi-feudal state, that agrarian state could not hold an economy that Marx intended to assure a strong a "fatehrly" government, problem was also Stalin's nature, unlike Lenin and Trotsky he wasn't very schooled (back in the 1920s he hardly spoke Russian, he was son of Georgian Peasants), he just took over and did the best he could, which wasn't that much in the end. Had the "Communist Revolution" taken place in England or in Germany before WW1, our world would have been very different, comrade Unagi. On the other hand, Cuba has an intriguing situation, its a microcosm of Russia, set in a country that was in a situation similar to Puerto Rico's current situation (almost completely dependant of the US). After the Revolution Cuba had its Golden Age, with excellent schools, universities and hospitals. Even now, Cuba is known for their excellent medical schools and for their superb art schools. The problem is, as ever, the economy, Cuba is mostly an agrarian country, it's major exports are tobacco, sugar and crappy latin singers, none of which provide the government with money to maintain the funding for education and health. Both Castro and Stalin held together their governments and were a viable solution for the people for a while. I rather sympathize with Communism, as you might have guessed, but it is as "utopian" as Plato's Republic.[/i]

They're German and you didn't know them mask??? Shame on you The translation is more like: The wonders of this world are given to you Luck is not for sale, longing remains out of reach Never satisfied of [Mask help me out for this one] No compassion for the majority
-
Don't get me started on the subject because I'll detail you the causes it till 1453... But I can say you that it was a war of politicians as it is always. As for Communism being an Utopian Anarchy, Communism never existed, there was only Stalinism. Communism is probably the most human form of government one we will take hundreds of years to adopt correctly.

I find the actual battles and operation pretty uninteresting. Ancient war strategies are by far more interesting, and the political background of WWII are the more intriguing than the battles.

"The Academy?" Noreto asked. The holo of Major Baumer nodded. "Your orders stand, Major. I will deal with the Academy." Noreto commanded and cut off the communication. Noreto had his own theories about the events at the Lianna Academy and the people there, he knew that it really had to be him, and knew how to save him from a certain death. Immediately he keyed for the transmission for an old friend. Another holograph hissed into existence. "Jan!" Noreto said, his voice revealing more enthusiasm than he wanted to admit at the sight of an old friend. "Now you are a sight I was not expecting to see. What is it, Darac?" Jan Dodonna asked. "Business, Jan, Business. It is time." "For what?" Dodonna retorted but immediately knew. "Why?" "Some people in High Command believe that even training duties are too good for a man who served the Republic for so long." "Too old for the new times? Yes, I do feel older." Dodonna admitted. "The Emperor has taken a special interest in your situation and grants you one of Commenor's Moons as a gift now that you are retiring." Noreto said. "You are expected to abandon Lianna in a few days." Jan said nothing for a long moment. "Did you volunteer for this duty, Darac? Or does the Empire now wish to make friends cause pain to each other." "Your retirement had been expected for a long time, one way or another. I did volunteer, because I wanted you to receive the news from an old friend." "Thank you, Darac." Jan Dodonna said. "And may the Force be with you," he added as he had so many times in the Clone Wars where Noreto had served under his command. Noreto felt heavier and older as he sat back on his chair, but the anomalous situation at the academy would be under wraps, and perhaps Noreto had just saved his friend's life.

Early Mon Cals defintely shouldn't and an Impstar is enough to massacre standard Rebel Fleets. Anything. (psss... Why do we post some nonsense in the last line?)
-
OOC: Just wondering where did we get Lancers from, ain't they post-Yavin? And how come ISDs get destroyed so easy??? You Rebels are really imaginative. The quartersized hologram of Captain Thrawn warped into existence on the holoprojector of his private command room. "I take it your mission was successful?" The blue alien asked. "Much more than yours, yes. We caught most of the pirates, one or two crafts escaped and they will tell the Rebels their woes. We captured some war-materiél, that can be put into effective use now that we are in the Rim, and some information, that my Intelligence squads are deciphering." "The location of the Rebel base?" The alien asked, and Noreto believe to see a glitter in the alien's eyes. "The leader committed suicide, as soon as he was in reach of the Chimaera's Tractor Beam, his second in command has been rather cooperative, though he did not know much." "Not that it mattered much, they will all be sentenced to death." Thrawn snorted. "Certainly, your battle on the other hand..." "Yes," he responded. "Although your intentions are satisfied." "Certainly, Captain. The Mon Cal will celebrate their freedom while the Quarren reorganize their pro-Imperial Resistance, a world this far out in the Rim is unimportant and would mean only a waste of men and firepower. In the mean time take the Judicator to Lianna for repairs and have Major Baumer join you temporarily." "Yes, sir." Thrawn stated and his holo faltered away. Noreto pressed another button and his roomsized holo depiction of the galaxy burst into life. Another long night awaited him, a night of careful pieceing together of the puzzle that this Rebellion was.

Admiral Noreto galnced upon the small armada of seventeen Victory Star Destroyers, a group meant to be sold off to the Corporate Sector now that Kuat Drive Yards had increased its output of Imperial Star Destroyers, before its last flight to Mytus VII, the Victorys had one last mission to fulfill. "The Judicator and its fleet was engaged, yes?" "Yes sir, the Mon Calamari Fleet were pounding them." "The Captain is a very good tactician he know how to make them believe that "Victory" is near, have the Victory Group hyper behind the moon of Mon Calamari and join Captain T, have them use the Quarren transponders, that will only confuse the Mon Calamari further. Noreto smiled, Thrawn would undoubtedly win, the Rebels would scatter and the Mon Cal would be confused by the "Quarren" betrayals. OOC. It's all I can do for you Thrawn, beat them up.

OOC: Up to you actually, though my char was certain on leaving.

Alone the two Jedi only stared at the deserted landscape around them. "That's interesting," Trej said to break the silence. "Which part? The Paradeium or that one of us could die?" Fel snorted. "Both of them, I was nor aware that the Paredeium had been found." "You knew of its existence?" "And of its power." Trej said, abandoning the rough behaviour still in awe of the revelation of the wondrous device. "What can it do?" Fel asked reluctantly, not sure if he was interested in knowing at all. "The Force binds everything, you, me, your dead master, the sand and the Paradeium. As a Jedi you can tap into the Force and touch the different elements bound by it, if you have a particularly strong affinity you can slightly alter the elements. Some Lords of the Sith claimed to have taken a further step, using the Dark Side to fuel their intentions they have altered significantly elements within the Force, the enslavement of the Massassi or the destruction of a protostar are evidence of the maximum power of the Sith. The Paradeium allows a strong Jedi to surpass even this level, the destruction of a planet is insignificant next to the true power of the Force." Fel just looked at him in disbelief. "Why not use it during the Clone Wars?" Trej snorted. "Because the Council knew the price of its use, the Paradeium was not build by the Jedi of Ossus nor by the Dark Lords of Korriban, no! It was made eons ago, some say it is Rakatan in origin, a masterpiece from the Infinite Empire. As for the Clone Wars only three or so Jedi could have been able to use it, the three strongest Jedi in the order, Master Yoda, the man you now know as Darth Elvis and another man who died a while ago. Perhaps the Emperor might have been able to use it, but men like Obi-Wan Kenobi or Count Dooku most likely could not have been in a position too, but its use came at a high price, the user, the one who draws the Force through the Orb will die. One Sith wishing to use its powers to benefit himself would not be able to benefit in the end, a Jedi wishing to use it for good, would sacrifice his life." "Is Sacrifice not a part of the essence of the Jedi?" Trej rolled his eyes. Turned his head at the younger man nodded but instead added. "No! Your have learnt and heard of the innumerable tales of Jedi giving their lives to save others. If a Jedi should use the Paradeium he will be in a position to recreate the galaxy at his will, the power of that orb is enormously seductive, no matter your intentions in the end you would succumb to its temptation and be no better than the Sith, you would die of course, but leave behind a galaxy destroyed and ravaged not only because of the Clone Wars, but because of the weakness of a single Jedi." "So we destroy it?" Fel asked. "Which of us will die?" Trej asked in return, knowing that only he was the one who could activate the self destruct. "I will, if it is necessary." Fel answered and looked away from the older man. "But it is not, a sandstorm approaches and it will bury the factory under its sands, the Paradeium is not meant to be destroyed, it is meant to outlast us, and exist throughout the ages as a memory of the tru legacy of the Force." Then he turned at Fel and changes his tone. "We've talked to your master, I believe we're through with this sandball. Unless you want to do some sightseeing." "You will not destroy it, but you heard what my master said, the entire galaxy is at stake if we don't destroy it, and you said Elvis will be able to handle it!" "As I said, I am through with this world." And turned away. "You will not do this? You will not kill Elvis! You are only a fearful creature, a coward, you hid for the last twelve years!" Fel said as angry tears came out of his eyes, trembling with desperation. "The Force guides us through life, but in the end you fell the choice that you deem correct. Have faith, little one, that I shall avoid the wrong path. Our destinies are now bound by the Paradeium, neither of us can escape that fate." Trej added and left. Alone Fel knew he had to rethink his own path. OOC: Oh, long post... Well sorry, but the Paradeium suddently interested me a lot... I think I might even return to it.

I present the first edition of 60 Standard Minutes.
Trejiuvanat replied to a topic in General Discussion
Cool post, though I have no idea what 60 Minutes is. -
256 Colors No gradients. Sorry, that's an absolute truth.
-
OOC: Actually we had already set a date, right from the beginning 8BBY, though I think we're now 7BBY.
-
I think he already had by that time, and he just became General Dodonna, perhaps it's is evil Twin Brother.
-
You got it wrong Thrawn, it sucks because it can awake strong feelings of disappointment in people, that can also be extreme nation-wide joy. I think Jahled (who started the thread) will agree with me, that Football rules over any other teamsport.

Here is the thread where mask answered a similar question about Uv mapping and such http://www.swrebellion.com/postt831.html and another http://www.swrebellion.com/postlite705-opt.html -
Good Old Georgie forbid them to kill Luke, so SKywalker will most likely die when 900 years he reaches, and not good he will look. There will be funeral? I don't think any of the major characters are in danger, but Wedge, Corran, Tahiri, Mara (?) are in danger ... Let's just wait.

OOC: Yeah, we will be known as the Traveling Jedi Band and will join Figrin Dan's Bith Tour of the Galaxy. About the Droidekas don't worry I won't be bringing them back, just wanted them for the background story. IC: Noreto had laid out his plan most efficiently, with Chimaera, Death's Head, and Eviscerator converging in Caluula the Rebel Activity in that sector had immediately dropped. Over the past few days he had sent Death's Head to terrorize the neighboring systems and with help of the Chimaera's Intelligence Department Noreto had succeeded in distributing some anti-Rebel propaganda amidst the Quarren population in Mon Calamari, the long feud between both races had proven again and again to be the weakest spot in the defense of the world, one that had to be taken seriously into consideration. In the mean time Noreto had allowed Baumer to travel to the Academy at Lianna, to recruit a few more pilots, but as well to have him meet with the Sienar Fleet System Engineers about a secret project that was being developed. As soon as the Chimaera had their full fighter force back he would strike merciless against the Killirak Pirates and their "hidden" base in the G-0473 Planetoid, that Imperial Intellegence has just found. To prevent the Rebels from interfering with his plans in the TIon Hegemony, he knew just who to call. The masterful tactician, that Lord Elvis had assigned to him. Noreto had Pellaeon open a communication to the Judicator, that he would discuss in the privacy of his command room. "Yes, sir?" The quarter-sized holo of Thrawn said. "You must be aware of my little campaign in the Tion Hegemony, and that the Pirate Nest has been found. In a few days I will launch an attack on their base, and I do not wish the Rebels to interfere, you will keep them busy!" "An attack on Mon Calamari?" Thrawn asked, wondering if the Admiral was stupid enough to send only one Destroyer to one of the most important worlds for the Rebellion. "Not quite, you see the Empire is greatly admired by the Quarren population, you will travel with a certain diplomatic privileges, the Calamari, on the other hand will not trust you, and most likely will have their sector fleet ready for the off-hand scenario that you are there to teach them about the diplomatic bonus a Star Destroyer has. Whatever success in dividing the population of the Mon Calamarian world even further will undoubtly be appreciated by the Emperor." Thrawn smiled. "Yes, sir. I will await for the confirmation of your timetable." Noreto cut the communication and felt a lot better.
