  2. Another TIE died under the red fire from his lasers. That had been the last of the little group that had welcomed him back to the battle, but plenty of them were still around, and in the mood of ruining the Rebel evacuation. From his cockpit he saw the few X-Wings forming up to make a last stand as the few sluggish freighters and transports kept rushing the evacuation in the relative safety of the asteroid field. On his far starboard side Trej clearly distinguished the ever-growing white daggers closing on the battlefield. Had been the presence of a Jedi Starfighter been enough to snap the commanders out of their remote-controlled battle style? Trej could not care less, and sped his fighter toward the regrouped squadron of TIEs that was moving fastly towards the X-Wings who had just sent a volley of torpedos away. With a last-second dive he appeared immediately above the leaders of the advancing TIE squadron and with some precise and surgical shots he succeeded in scattering them. The TIEs then took a particular interest in him. Arfour flashed a report on the sensor screen, at least two entire TIE squadrons were on his tail. "That's really some magnetic personality." Trej grimly smiled as he rolled his fighter on his port side followed by a short dive. Some of the green shots missed far, but some TIE pilots followed through his maneuver. The superior speed of the TIE Fighter was finally reducing the distance between hunter and prey. "Time for some role-changing." Trej decided as he sent his fighter on a long twist to come aroung and charge against the TIEs. Two or three shots splashed on his forward shield, before Trej was immediately before the TIEs, raining his red lasers on them. The X-Wings had taken advantage of the Jedi's maneuver to engage the TIEs from behind. But the TIEs were sharp; though stripped from their mass-attack tactics the TIEs took advantage of their craft in the dense furball that grew around the Jedi Stafighter. Arfour informed him that the freighters and transports had started their hyperspace run. "It's over for me, then" Trej said to no one in particular and sped his fighter out of the furball and towards open space. Ignoring the TIEs that were still where chasing him he plotted a nav-course out of Marlin V. "Jedi why are you leaving?" a male voice asked him on the comm. "I have done what I had to, it's your battle now." Trej answered and accelerated to hyperspace.
  3. You have a point there, GA. I'm assuming "here", means the US. The rather puritan laws from the US about drugs, haave not solved the problem but have rather increased it. Though I don't live there (and I never would), our pathethic Central American governments have chosen to "imitate" those same policies regarding drugs. So, Costa Rica (NOT to be confused with Puerto Rico) has a pretty bad problem with drugs. IMO, the legalization of light drugs (Marihuana, Hashish, Coca (not Cocaine but the leaves from the plant)), could defintely be one step forward, policies similar to the European ones (Holland, Switzerland) could be implemented, it would boost up some exportations (namely towards Holland) from Colombia, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, etc. But as usual there are always politic and economic interests in-between, and the transnational and tyrannical tobacco firms have tried in any way possible to disrupt such legalization initiatives... About the eBay idiot, he did have about 150 kg of the stuff, can't remember what he wanted for it. Nor where it was from, probably Colombian.
  4. GB was indeed nothing but a mod, from Age of Empires, it was fun because it was a well-done mod, but it lacked innovation. And, of course, because of those nasty Gungans. Couldn't someone just mod some Yuuzhan Vong to replace the idiotic frog-faces.
  5. We all know Mace will die, Jango could have taken him out in Ep II. Or at least taken out that Ki-Adi-Blah-Blah-alien, and then charge stupidly at Mace.
  6. OOC: I don't think I'll be joining this one, one Roleplay is enough for me.
  7. Use the XWA models from the game, rather than Darksaber's. The originals have lower detail, thus are easier for conversion.... Or ask him nicely, and go get some coffee for conversion... Try also Mask's solution. Oh, and I still like your Acclamator more.
  8. I found some reviews on the net (I haven't the book) and they hint that Thrawn at least is back as another clone. would that explain the rather silent role of the Empire of the Hand in NJO, or explain why it acts as a same entity as the Ascendancy? Thrawn engineered his own way of getting kicked out of it. Wait till 2005 with Zahn's other novel.. About the OBF Thrawn destroyed it after having been contacted by Kinman Doriana. Good ol' red eyes, must have figured that Palpy's Empire could come handy against the mysterious 100 dangers of the Unknown Regions. About the Chiss Ascendancy and the Empire of the Hand, I think in some way the Empire of the Hand is a more independent branch of the Chiss Ascendancy, from VotF we know that the Empire of the Hand operates with lots of Chiss, and it keeps the Chiss nomination (Syndic, Phalanx), and that they get enough new recruits without being sanctioned by the official Chiss government. I believe that Thrawn had a long talk with the members of the Ruling Families when he came back from Known Space, and convinced them to allow him to retake his title as a Syndic and create his own "Empire", that'd be the first line of defense for the Chiss Imperium, not only for defense against the above-mentioned threats, but for defense against Palpy's Empire. It is a Chiss politic entity that works with a different set of ideologies (Thrawn's particular interpretation of the New Order set to work in the Unknown Regions, pre-emptive strike and all), thus the Ruling Families do not accept officially their stance towards the Hand, but they understand the importance of such a military power in the Unknown Regions. That's just some crazy theory, though... Talking about Zahn... and about those that have read Survivor's Quest... There wouldn't be any mention of that alien civilization Thrawn destroyed because he didn't understand their art nor any further mention of Hijarna, would it? Those have been by far the most intriguing side-stories from the Thrawn Trilogy, and the ones I have been looking for solution for a long time...
  9. OOC: Considering that my char has left Coruscant, your quest might be a little of a mouse and cat chase... With a renewed vigor Trej woke up. The cockpit of his ancient Jedi Starfighter was far from comfortable and even the cold asphalt and duracrete from the Coruscantan underworld had been warmer, but perhaps for the first time in a dozen years, Trej Ocas felt strong, and he could easily explain the feeling. For the first time in that lapse Trej had drawn on the Force, now in the minimal space of his cockpit Trej touched that warm energy that bound him to all creatures in the galaxy, tying him to their destinies, connecting him to their passions. On his port side the black astromech remained silent, on standby mode as the hyperspace engine hummed. Inside Trej silently wondered what this destination would be. After departing from Coruscant he had trusted the Force to guide him to a new destination. On his left the droid tooted back to life and the hum of the hyperdrive engine quickly faded. Outside him the pyrotechnic effects of a space battle anchored him back to reality. Out of hyperspace into a Rebel battle. That's Interesting He glanced quickly over the nav-computer that was checking his position: Marlin V. A light lit up on his board, as one of the displays showed an aggressive formation of red blips deviating towards him. "Unidentified starfighter, surrender now." Trej decided to ignore the call, and swung his fighter away from the incoming TIEs. And directly into an astoroid field. Dodging astoroids proved more or less difficult for him, as his athrophied skills regained some of the confidence and ability that had made him outlive the most bitter battle of the Clone Wars. On the sensor display R4 had posted a quick review of the battle, that Rebels were losing. Unsuccessfully they were making a stand against the combined strength of an Imperial Star Destroyer and support vehicles. "Jedi please help us." Another voice burst into his cockpit. Then the voice exploded into static and Trej did not need his droid to report him that a Corellian Corvette had just become space dust. Trej sent his fighter deeper into the asteroid field, hoping to disencourage the Imperial TIE of pursuit, while assessing the delicate balance of the battle. Then among the rocky debris of the asteroid field he maneuvered into the midst of the Rebel defensive formation. He would help them, but would not join them, that alone he was certain of, the rest he left to the fortunes of war. Trej accelered into an incoming wave of TIEs letting the Force guide him as he did so.
  10. Firefox actually... Faster, easier, more seductive... ...Um no... That was the Dark Side, but it applies just the same, it's more customizable, and more organized, even has a built-in pop-up blocker... Plus the skins look nice.
  11. His liver probably won't be up to it... But I have some Veggie Vong replacements he might thank for...
  12. Some more than other... I read that some dork tried selling some Marihuana on eBay as well... Not the smartest thing to do...
  13. I found it years ago... Back in 99... After I had discovered that there were a tons of sites dedicated to modding XWA, I tried my luck on find other sites that allowed me to edit other of my star wars games. After a frustrating few hours for me trying to find a comprehensible Dark Forces editting site, I tried my luck at finding an editting site for Rebellion. I was overjoyed when I found this site, but also Revolution's site, and some others that were around. Zeblork's Cards Depot, John M Stone, Nemesis all of them great sites...
  14. Pellaeon has been always an interesting personality, ever since he first appeared in the Thrawn Trilogy. He became an Imperial one could sympathize with -even more than Piett-, the evolution of his character from Endor to Bothawui -including the parts that have only been told in the essential chronology- shows that he assimilated the lesson he learnt from Thrawn and Daala (who was the first to accept nonhumans and women into the Imperial Navy) and that he applied them with relative success. In the end, I think, Pellaeon could have been the only leader for the Empire at that time. Prudent and humble enough he realized, when it was time for peace. Over the years Pellaeon has impressed his personality on the Empire, creating thus a more conscient and human regime, but keeping the order of Palpatine's Empire.
  15. The procedure is a bit tricky, it's far more simple if you try doing it first without textures and then try to do it with textures. Get Mask's Modellin Tutorial from Mask's Page or the SWR Downloads section. To convert XWA OPTs to 3ds, you need a little program you can find in Darksaber's XWA Page. I can't remember the name, sorry. When you have the 3ds, you'll most likely need a 3d editting program, like 3d Studio, LithUnwrap, and Mask's Modelling Tutorial and another little app called 3ds2x, to convert the 3dss into the x format Rebellion uses. The pictures are a definite woo, the Familiy Affair looks nice, and I agree with Mask that yours is the better Acclamator, I'd try to make the Acclamator more horizontal the way its place on the picture make it seem as it was a starfighter and not a troop-carrier.
  16. I always liked strategy games more. I've played Dark Forces, JK II and Wolfenstein, but none of them has attracted me more than Rebellion, Age of Empires, Age of Myth, Homeworld, etc.
  17. CONGRATULATIONS GREECE For a well-earned European Championship!
  18. Since I don't use IE, I had a bit of a prob there. Now it's fine.
  19. HALO alone makes the cost of an X-Box worth it. Not to mention HALO 2. Evil Yuuzhan Vong Warmaster dislikes Shoot'em Ups...
  20. From the description of your error, I'd say it has something to do with the model rather than the procedure. Did you do something funny with textures, or something like that? Anyway, Mask will eventually find this thread, and solve your problems.
  21. Amazon.com ships worldwide, so you could give it a try. Try looking at eBay, you'd be surprised what you find there.
  22. Beyond repair? Did you crash it? Have you tried to sell parts of it, at least here some people buy parts of old useless cars. Opel Astra... For how much? 4000? 3000? Again, here you'll only get a newer Hyundai (crappy cars, I hate 'em!!!) for 2000 a relatively decent cars costs you at least $4000 (Used one of course, new it's about $9000 at least... )...
  23. Check under mask's signature and there you'll find a www button, click on it and look for it in Mask's homepage. It may also be in the downloads section, but i'm not sure.
  24. Captain Isak Deran stepped into the bridge of his Imperial Star Destroyer, Chimaera, took a look around the usual activity of his officers and the crewer and sat on the Chair. Immediately a young lieutenant approached him. "Captain?" "Yes?" "Sir, we have a transmission from the Serpent's Bite, Captain Novor reports that Major Baumer has returned, and that he has confronted this... X-Wings...again. They have sent the sensor data as well." "Is that all?" "Ummm.... No, sir." "More information about the Rebels?" "No, sir." "Speak, Pellaeon!" The lieutenant suppresed a shiver. "A holotransmission from Imperial Center, sir." "From Coruscant?" Deran's jaw dropped noticeably. "I will receive it, in the secondary bridge, thank you Lieutenant." Deran stepped on the holotranceiver, waiting equally for a holograph to materialize on the opposed end. As he feared Darth Elvis sinister figure appeared, next to him the figure of a human Admiral materialized. "Tell me, Captain Deran, why should you not be replaced? Vader asked. "Sir?" The human admiral interceded. "In the past few weeks Rebels have been operating freely in your sector, and you have failed to react to them. While you cannot possibly call any of the engagements a victory for the Rebels, your precarious course of action, opens some serious doubts. The erradication of this Rebellion is paramount to the Empire, we cannot allow such a movement to thrive within our Empire, what do oyou know of this X-Wing?" "We have just received the sensor data from one of the TIE Squadron that-" "You have not recognized it's similarities to the Z-95 design, it is an Incom Design, captain." "An Incom.... But wasn't Incom -" Elvis finished the sentence, "nationalized by the Empire? Yes, but it's engineers have not been nationalized and have sold the design to the Rebel Alliance, all of it in your sector, Deran. You are accountable for this. And for the escape from a Jedi Starfighter in your sector. I warn you, I have little patience." Deran wanted to answer, but hesitated and Elvis continued. "Admiral Noreto, will be asigned to your sector, Captain. He will be in full command, until I am able to join you."With that Lord Elvis's holo faded, and left only the two men. "I will be arriving to the Denab system and take over command of the Chimaera within the next two standard days. In the mean time, you will elaborate a careful report of the skirmishes with the X-Wings, and of the role of this Jedi Starfighter in battle. Also you will have the 607th TIE Squadron under Major Baumer transfer to the Chimaera. Do not fail me, Captain. I do not act like Lord Elvis, but I do recognize the need of his methods, on occasion." The transmission ended.
  25. What do I need to open this .BOB file?
