A little something I read in theforce.net Ah, but there is more because: Anyway, Raynar as a main characters, sounds odd as do all the insectoid references, but as for Allston back with a post NJO trilogy, well that's just WOO!!! And a third author, could it be Zahn, Luceno, Salvatore, Stackpole...

None of us is Lucas... So the Rebs won't win... Perhaps I'll send the 24993 Impstars against you all at once... Plus its: 24993*72= 1,799,496 TIEs

Sure we won, but had serious losses... I'd rather have you win with minor losses... Or better I'd rather crush you completely!

Perhaps if we had people willing to take those roles, we'd have some ground battles. After all, Starfighters can be put into use in ground battles, so excepting for us who like to blow things up from orbit, you'd have a battle there. And Darky: Don't start spamming 'round here, or I'll tell E to extend my moderating powers to these desolate threads. Oh and don't destroy much Star Destroyers anymore, I'm having an average of three lost Impstar's per battle, that's close to the absurd...

3 Doors Down - Here without you

Two stormtroopers dragging a man entered the command room of the Chimaera. Admiral Noreto ordered the stormtroopers to leave the man on the chair and leave. In the center of the room, a table had been set with two chair facing each other in the far ends of the table. Assorted dishes and a bottle of Churban Brandy eagerly waited for the two human to start their meal. "I trust Lieutenant Crovius provided entertainment for these days?" Noreto asked. The smuggler blinked stupidly, to weak to snap back at the Admiral he just extended his hand at the glass. Noreto served him a generous amount of brandy and then served himself. Dally drank the liquor and seemed to gain some strength, and smiled weakly at Noreto. Only with a strong effort managed the smuggler to keep from falling into the Krevassan Bantha Steak in Boorian Sauce. "I must inform you that the results of your interrogation were nonconclusive, interrogations managed to patch some of the reports we already had about you and your ship, but provided no proof of recent Rebel contacts. My Intelligence Chief suggested that you may have some extraordinary ability to hide certain facts from his probing, but to me you are nothing but a smuggler and a drunkard. Official protocol would ask me to send you to Coruscant, where Director Isard would figure out all the dark little secrets you may have, but I may have a different use for you at this stage." Noreto put a piece of the meat in his mouth. "Are you not hungry, Captain?" Noreto asked politely and the smuggler blinked again as he focused on the plate served for him. Probably under the effect of some of the interrogation drugs, the smuggler only stared at the plate. "In your file there is a report on a Rebel Contact in Mantooine, our Intel teams have confirmed that the Contact is still there, as soon as you leave the Chimaera you will head for Mantooine and link up to this contact and offer to sell them a particular bit of information, the information is valuable, and they will ask you to take it to a safer location, a strong Rebel base, you will do business as usual and report the location of the base, and a summary of their fleets. Do you understand?" The smuggler nodded and his head sank again. The Admiral took another bit of meat and swallowed it, before calling the stormtrooper commanders. The white-armored soldiers entered the room and handed the Admiral with his rifle. Noreto set the blaster on stun and shot at point-blank on the smuggler. Drifiting in space, Dally woke up in the cockpit of his space ship. On a small create was the rest of his Krevassan Bantha Steak in Boorian Sauce and a bottle of Churban Brandy. On the floor his astromech replayed a holo with the briefing that Noreto had given him earlier. Behind him a little droid tooted. "What are you complaining of? Did those Intel guys take you apart too?" The droid shut down and Dally frowned. "Nah, let's hear that briefing again?" The droid remained silent and replayed the briefing. OOC: Sorry for putting that much talk in your mouth Dally, and inventing a droid for you, but I needed him for the story. Needless to say the droid has the valuable information, and also the special frequency to contact me later, plus a little something from Imperial Intelligence to ensure your cooperation

Or a stormtrooper, or an AT-AT pilot. You come from Carida after all.

Or the contrary, cloaking devices could be meant to be for starfighters, and a ship of that size could be too big for a cloakind device, only Lucas know. (Let's ignore TIE Fighter, because we all know how LEC invents stuff to break continuity).

Oh... I'll have to nuke something else... WEll those gungangs, the Emperor had a growing interest in the radioactive effects in amphibian species.
-
you're right, but there are probably other world with "cute" little readdy bears that I can blow up... Or I can exterminate entire ewok villages while we prepare Palpy's big-badass secret weapon shields.
-
All DirectPlay supported games, actually.
-
In the TPM novelizations it states that is possess a cloaking device. And there are other vehicles with cloaking devices, remember that comment made by Captain Needa during ESB?
-
Something about that phrase stirred my loins in ways that only massive destruction can..... Join me and together we will rule the galaxy as Admiral and Smuggler. And nuke Endor.

I have not seen it, and I doubt I will see it, as Moore mostly just "recites" lots of statistics, that certainly are true, but as ever, from a particular point of view. I have little love for the U.S. American government, their cowboy president (IMHO, that's the impression he gives) and his NAC staff, but Moore's way to present those facts is just as manipulative as pro-U.S. American propaganda. One last thing, as a Moderator, I'd advice anyone to think over their comments first. Politics is one of the hardest topic to moderate, so keep it down, or we'll have to close the thread.

It's a feature of Microsoft's MSN Messenger, that is enabled by DirectPlay, IIRC

IIRC Mask hasn't made one yet, so there most likely isn't a new model fo the Tunaboat (aka Medium transport). You could try to model one yourself, with textures and all, or look around in the web for models you could convert, Mask said that models made for Armada II can be converted quite easily, perhaps they have one MedTrans?.

Kaja: You are free to do what you want. You can easily be a smuggler, and then "eventually" run into Darky's squad. Or whatever. There aren't many rules round here, as it is a freeform roleplay. As long as you don't get out of the "timeline" there shouldn't be much problem. Go and post useful comments in other threads and in a year or two you might have 3600+ posts just like me.

The Alliance Strikes Back (A Protectorate story)
Trejiuvanat replied to CP's topic in Gaming Stories
Reloaded is an upcoming Total Conversion for Rebellion, it's set during the Thrawn Era. -
It's useful if you want to make a conversation shorter, especially one when there are not many alternatives. F.e. The big bad Imperial Admiral, with the suspicious freighter captain. If you are the Admiral you could write up small bits and pieces of dialogue, that you know won't ater the story much, if at all. But if you are a junior pilot, putting words in the mouth of a much superior officers... Well, you can easily put congratulations, or short orders during battle (Break to port, take those TIEs, etc), but should should not "have" him develop and launch a super-giga-mega-kilo-battleplan... So don't have Darky come up with another evil Rebl plan, there are enough fiendish REbels as it is. I've been also writing from the POV of another char, who's already said he won't be very often here, but did not want to leave the story entirely. I guess it depends of the situations and common sense.

Borges is one of the most caracteristic writers of Latinamerican "Fantastic Realism", that particular quote comes from a tale written from the point of view of a German Officer in 1939. The sentence is to highlight how obsessive a man, can be and how quickly it can deform into complete insanity. To be obsessed with a country, be it Hungary or any other, and all it implies is a subtle criticism to the German politics at the time. And the first, yup, one of my favorites. @Mask: LOL, Pirates of the Caribbean, one great movie.

Fel breathed heavy behind him. For twenty years the two Jedi had walked and across the dense forests of Devaron. For days had they ran without rest, escaping from the wondered patrols of the Empire. Without any particular direction or purpose the two Jedi kept running, conversation had been more scarce than Imperial Patrols. The older Jedi would at times give instrunctions to Fel, or call for halt, occasionally he would mouth a warning. On even fewer occasions had the Jedi used the Force other than strengthening their tired bodies. Today was a special day, the usual silence had been broken by Trej's effort to whistle a song. The rhythm Fel could not recognize, and in time the song grew more and more annoying. "Would you rather sing it than whistle it." Fel said, his voice came tired. "I would, if I knew it, I know only the last verses, it is a rather old and long song. He does not hate, nor does he love. No fear he knows, From life his power flows. Fear him not Love him not Honest ever is his word The warrior with the sword. Guardian of the Force, for thee is my song. " "An Alderaanian song?" Fel asked. "Yes, a girl sang it to me, when I was elevated to Jedi Master on Coruscant, a present to me from Senator Organa." Trej remembered. "Trej, what are we doing here?" Fel asked and stopped, for days had he not stopped. "Waiting." Trej answered as he too slowed down. "For what?" Trej shrugged. "How far are we from our fighters?" Fel asked. "One or two kilometers; we've walked a rather long circle." "Two weeks, to be right at the beginning?" "No, two weeks for you to learn something new. Tomorrow we will leave the planet, and go to another place for another two weeks, for you to think over what you have learnt?" "Learnt? You haven't taught anything!" Fel snorted accusingly. "I never said I taught something, but you have learnt much." Trej answered and slowly walked away guiding the younger Jedi to their fighters. Fel wondered at his words and followed him in their usual silence.

The Infiltrator is much bigger than a TIE, you could label it as a shuttle or light transport rather than a starfighter. As for that game, which I haven't play, well... we know how imaginative game designer can be.
