ROTJ: Luke fighting Vader with a blue lightsaber video
DarthTofu replied to Sinister's topic in General Discussion
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Return_Of_The_Jedi#Trivia Here's something rather interesting: "With a massive worldwide marketing campaign, Star Wars series artist Drew Struzan created the iconic and distinctive images for the movie posters and other advertising. (In the film's release poster, Luke Skywalker is depicted holding a blue lightsaber—a lightsaber color that does not appear in the film. His new lightsaber is green—although it is blue in one trailer, suggesting the decision to make it green was taken late in production. In fact, the decision was made to make Luke's blade contrast with the blue sky of Tatooine and make it more visible during the skirmish at Carkoon)." Rob, you'll like this one: "Actor Peter Mayhew was advised to stay close to the crew so that tourists to the forests would not mistake him as Bigfoot and take photographs that could reveal the existence of the movie." -
Alright, I'm rather ticked off right now, so I'm commandeering this thread and switching 'landlords' to 'busdrivers,' since it's more appropriate for my rant: So today I decide to give blood at the blood drive (Mind you, I'm glad that I did since it save lives, but that's not important right now) I sign up a 2:30, largely because my seventh period class is run by a crazy, innarticulate hippy who tries to press her views on us. School lets out at 3:15. I figure "Oh, that's fourty-five minutes. I'll have plenty of time." Wrong. I got on the bus to give and had to wait in line behind three other applicants so that they could check me out. They had to take my pulse three times since it apparently was fluctuating (Alright, fine, so I was nervous, and unfoundedly so) I finally got the needle in my arm at around 3:05. Almost 3:15 exactly I get the needle out and have to walk all the way across the school to get my stuff from my seventh period class and hear what I missed. I got it and, noticing that it was only about 3:20 thought "maybe I can catch the bus." Turns out I could- I ran to the road that leads out the main one to find the buses all stopped waiting for a red light. I get up to the bus and hammer on the door and a few friends start calling for the busdriver to open up. She won't. The reason? I crossed the street to get to the bus. I am not joking- that was her retarded reason for it! What does that have to do with anything? So then, since my folks work, I had to bum a ride off a friend, and wouldn't you know that in my search I had to run across my ex-girlfriend. She shut the window before I could ask for a ride, but still, I had to run across her. I finally got a ride to within about three miles of my house, but rather than walk the distance in eighty-something degree weather while wearing jeans, headed about a mile north to a friend's house in an out-of-the-way location and finally got home through him, a good half hour to fourty-five minutes after I would have gotten home had a taken the bus. The moral of all this? Give blood earlier in the day and don't ride the f***ing bus. Argh!

I have a new avatar, now- and homemade at that. I felt it appropriate considering recent events...

I was denied the shock of ESB's huge, monumental surprise. I saw Return of the Jedi first, and so knew that Luke was Vader's son before I even knew about Bespin. Stupid Thanksgiving special- why couldn't it just be the full trilogy? Oh, right, my favorite years- erm, I wasn't alive for very many of them... Prob'ly about when the special edition was released, since that was when I got into Star Wars, even if I didn't know the original magic. Thus, the late nineties...

Huertolero's Crazy "Cheer-the_Mask" Thread
DarthTofu replied to Huertolero's topic in Rebellion Reloaded
You're rather lucky I'm not an admin, knoppelix... So I'm spreading the word (By word of mouth) about this TC- I'm going to see if I can get a friend who used to play like mad to try out Reloaded... Ought to be very nice... Oh, yes, and keep up the good work, Mask! -
*Snork* Nice one, Jahled...

Erm, what's with the double-post quote, there, mate? http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a169/DarthTofu/n501964126_51979_676.jpg Edit: Ah, I love Cyanide and Happiness...
-
*Snort* Okay, you just got another fifty dork/nerd points for that poem, Mad... Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice... Darth Vader, Luke and a talking lightsaber walk into a cantina. The bartender looks up and says, "What is this, some kinda joke?"
-
Hehe- gotta love it! Granted, Luke could be smiling in the pic

Rebellion Reloaded BETA - Questions and Answers
DarthTofu replied to Lord_La_forge's topic in Rebellion Reloaded
Let's have some compassion here and realize that the guy has to juggle real life in with his work, and probably ranks real life higher than making a videogame mod for a bunch of folks he's never met and likely never will, eh, Huertolero? -
Hehe- I remember that. Since nobody's posted any of the pickup lines we did, I must post Rob's great one: "Hey, baby... Wanna ignite my lightsaber?"
-
Please tell me that isn't your back, Rob... Please... Edit: Uncyclopedia is great...

Here you go, folks. As always, appologies to Mad... http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a169/DarthTofu/four-twenty.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a169/DarthTofu/Four-twenty2.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a169/DarthTofu/Four-twenty3.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a169/DarthTofu/Four-twenty4.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a169/DarthTofu/Four-twenty5.jpg As Rob already knows, I was kind of afraid that I wouldn't get to live today, seeing as things were exactly mirroring Columbine right up to the shooting at my school, down to the date and everything. I left the comic with Rob for safekeeping in the event that I wouldn't be able to post it, but thankfully for all, I was and am.

I have to agree with Mr. D- I would very much like to see some repairs having to be executed on the ships, with specific systems- such as engines, turbolasers, etc.- selected for repair when there is a station available, and differant speeds/levels of repair depending on damage to the ship, space station level, and type of ship. Granted, with huge fleets that would be something of a burden, so an automatic repair thing would be nice, too.
-
Haha- great stuff, Jahled and Forge! The fact that I recognized both pictures made it all the better- didn't even notice the battledroid in the background on Jahled's pic for a second. @Mad: Oh, yeah- the DS photo isn't mine.
-
I apparently don't have permission to view him, LLF.
-
There, not their, Krytos... Sorry- it annoys me...
-
Did anyone else catch this pic on Mad's post? Han apparently didn't shoot first!
-
I see... Sorry, Australia always has and always shall be the only "Down Under" in this world for me. I reject your defenition of the term and substitute my own!
-
Ditto the D- that's some Class-A photoshopping, there! Arf! Edit: The Death Star just doesn't feel like blowing up planets anymore...
-
I thought it looked very Jahled-esque, but I guess not. Ah, well- it was a very nice gif all the same.

VA Tech Tragedy & Gun Debate (from world conflicts)
DarthTofu replied to DarthTofu's topic in Outside Interests
I'm not going to lie- I'd really prefer if the States would get far stricter gun-control laws, with nothing about a hand gun with a small clip available for sale to persons in urban areas unless they're with the police, armed forces, etc. In some cases, such as rural ones, higher calliber firearms are going to necessary for hunting and like, but when the population density is high enough, I'd really prefer to see weapons with less power over weapons with more power, and no weapons at all over weapons in the first place. Just settle it with your fists if you have to, or better yet, don't blow people's brains out. -
VA Tech Tragedy & Gun Debate (from world conflicts)
DarthTofu replied to DarthTofu's topic in Outside Interests
What I've seen indicates that they had reason to believe that the first shooting was a murder case, and that the shooter had left campus. I'm not sure that it was the best idea to not call all of the students in, but that's what I heard. -
Holy crap! So who here has heard about the Virginia Tech shooting? Not exact a world conflict, but another shooting might herald an increase in 'em elsewhere... I had family there! Fortunately he's alright, but still... Thirty-three are dead when I'm writing this, with about 22 or so injured... Jeeze... Edit: http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/04/16/vtech.shooting/index.html A link to the story on this.... Oh, jeeze....

Vaguely reminds me of Mad's sig. Ugh! Jedi Knight II is annoying me- I'm at the end of the bloody stealth level where you have to shut out the light, but I can't seem to quite make it to the damned door...
