  1. What do you all find so disturbing about me sending my eyebrow up high into the air? Or my face for that matter. I'm assuming that you're all just poking fun, but if it truly disturbs you I'll just inbed that of myself in its sted! I have refrained from voting. You were expecting a denial of that last statement here, weren't you?
  2. Huh- never seen that before, though it's certainly much easier than the fractional values I've seen in conversions before. Thanks, JH- I'm sure that'll come in handy some day, assuming I don't bump it out to store info on something that my subconcious deems more important (Such as characters in my latest novel that I'm reading/writing) Florida has very nice weather. Much nicer than California had. It's warm, bright, and sunny, and I'm dressed appropriately for it this time
  3. I thought you were joining the French Foreign Service or something like it?
  4. Leku? Oh, and by the way: Perv.
  5. Patience? Wisdom? Who are you and what have you done with the real Mad? On the four force powers thing: Maybe Vader was being smart. The Sith are traditionally rather ruthless, willing to slay their Masters and whatnot, so why would Vader want his apprentice to be able to do anything he couldn't counter? If he can do four things with devestating effects but Vader can counter those four things, he still has a useful tool, and on top of that needn't worry about being attacked by it. Just my two cents.
  6. Oh man, I saw one of the mail droids in real life in California! Unfortunately it was out of the window of a rental car, and I couldn't convince my folks to stop to take a picture of me with it (I couldn't get them to stop here, either, which also annoyed me) but my sister got one of herself with one of the mail droids... Rather neat looking in the fle- metal...

    Books

Only thing I've read by him was Vector Prime, and I really didn't care for it. I just finished The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time, which is written from the perspective of a fifteen-year-old autistic boy. Very good read, though the language is very strong, so it's not a good read-to-little-kids story (Tex... Just shut up. I already know what you're going to say.) The other book I read was The Dark Glory War by Michael A. Stackpole. A couple of years old, but a great read. The Dragon Crown Trilogy is also good (TDGW is the prequal to the trilogy which I'd already read on account of starting with the first book in the trilogy, not knowing that there was a prequal) Very dark book that eats at you, but also a very good one. The last book in the trilogy is more uplifting, though the rest are kind of downers.
  8. Lake Tahoe, California was at 70 degrees on Thursday, March 29th at an elevation of over five thousand feet above sea level. The wierd part? It snowed both days before that. Really nice powder and all, too. The high the day before was something like thirty degrees! (It was actually around twenty)* *All units are Farenheit. I appologize to everyone who uses the metric system. It's a much better system, but the conversions from Imperial are a b****.
  9. Happy birthday, Mad. I'd tell you to get drunk and party, but then I really wouldn't be telling you to do anything out of the ordinary for you, now would I?
  10. ... Erm, what? On a side note: I'm baaaaaaAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! Snowboarding was fun, and I even got a lesson in the "terrain park" (Place where you go up on jumps, boxes, and all sorts of other things that can hurt like mad if you screw up). I mastered a couple of jumps and got some good air off of 'em, though I left a bit more of my face in the snow than I would've preferred to whilst learning. Luckily I forgot to bring my razor, so I had a lovely patch of face-fur to protect me At any rate, it was nice, and as an added bonus SOCL couldn't kill me, because I was about an eigth of the circumferance of the world away from him!
  11. Tofu, you change your avatar almost as many times as a woman changes her mind ... almost. But by far, that is the most horrendous avatar you have ever used! So true Tex! Maybe Tofu IS a woman in disguise! ... ah ... nah, that picture is way to ugly for a woman I resent all of the above comments. I don't deny any of them, but I do resent them! Ace work, Def!
  12. I thought this was rather ironic when I opened this topic: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a169/DarthTofu/hillary.jpg
  13. I'd like to nominate this song as our new official themesong. We all remember puberty, I hope. Some of us not so fondly... I am cow! ... Even though there's a statue in Southern Canada commending a knight who died preventing the onslaught of "Americans" (Or so a family friend claims) What do you folks have against Ontario? Alright, I'll leave off with this one... Primarily because I'm not Canadian, and I've probably gone and pissed off GAT and Def somehow.
  14. Not a ground-breaking emergency, and it may be just me- but on the main page this shows up... Is that just me, or do other people have that happening?
  15. Yes! Yes! It's back! We all know what this means, I hope: Tex will finally shut up about it! Good stuff, D. Now that I've finally finished the NJO I should be able appreciate this stuff much more. Though I must say, John Walter Williams kinda screwed the Imps over when he wrote Destiny's Way. ("Any imperfect flowers will feel the pinch of my finger!" Ugh! ) *Prepares to actually read this time around*
  16. Congrats. I think at least 50% of your posts were on topic getting there, too! So yes, congradulations, Tex. I'll submit something to this: I always let the AI handle maintenance. The AI is too stupid to attack where I'm weak and have no fleets, so I just build a few extra-spiffy ship-building planets, a couple of strong fleets (IE 1 SSD, 2 ISD IIs, 2 VSD IIs, 2 Escort carriers, enough star galleons that I have sixty squads of battle droids/dark troopers, and everything topped off with TIE Defenders and Interseptors (fifty-fifty cut)) I never run out of maintenance points unless I get Death Star-happy.
  17. Very pretty stuff, D! I'm leaving for California on the *Checks watch* twenty-fifth. Tahoe, California! Yahoo! I'll post a snow boarding pic or two when I get back.
  18. "Although it is not common knowledge, there are actually three sides to the Force: the light side, the dark side, and Chuck Norris." I think I've seen this one with Kyle Katarn in Chuck's place...
  19. I may have to start watching BSG just for the music! That's some good stuff, there! Granted, I'd have to find the episodes somewhere if I were to jump into it, as well as a large amount of time...
  20. That would be labor intensive and quite expensive Rob. The gov't has other specialized programs to waste taxpayer money @Paul: I thought you might have pulled the ol' cherry bomb in the mailbox trick myself But you're correct: Grand Moff's are not thieves ... maybe extortionists, embezzlers, etc. but definitely NOT common thieves Imperial training is very impecible about those things I personally saw GMC in a convertable with his buddy driving and a baseball bat posed to swing off a box or two in a nice little neighborhood.
  21. What are you trying to do, go home? No no no no no no. It's a heel click. You jump up in the air, stick your feet out to the side, click your heels together, and then bring your feet back down so that you defy the laws of physics and gravity when you ultimately stumble and fall on your face... Unless you're Irish. Irish people seem to have extraordinary balance and heel-clicking abilities.
  22. ... Most notably Rob.
  23. No, no- the joke is that his ball is the destructive equivelant of a DS. it's a joke, not real. And besides, there's always ye olde force kick in ROTJ
  24. I figured Rob would like this... Found it a while back and never got around to posting it until I had large amounts of homework that I didn't feel like doing. Go figure.
