I pointed the guy toward the Tales of the New Republic folks and told him that he should try out for it. Ten bucks says that he gets a job with 'em.

I still say that you could get a job with any major 3D modeling company easily, Krytos. I need to find whoever instructed you on the use of that program and force them to teach me!

I'd never heard of that one. Granted, I never watched episode two more than twice, thus... Yeah. some actual bloopers

I submit my new avatar as a work of awesome photoshoppery. Not mine.

Heehee- that one is one of my favorites. Greg Keyes is a good author in my opinion. As I've made clear to the point of making it hurt people, I don't care for Troy Dennings. Let's see, who else wrote? James Lucendo is pretty good, though I thought he sort of dragged with The Unifying Force. Aaron Allston writes some great stuff with the Enemy Lines duology. Elaine Cummingham's Dark Journey is ultimately pointless and accomplishes nothing... As Def will back me up on, Traitor by Matthew Stover is amazing (The man could turn Pat Robertson into an atheist and Richard Dawkins into a Scientologist if he felt like it). Destiny's Way is so-so, which is a bit of a downer since it winds up being such an important book in the series. Shane Dix and Sean Williams are pretty good with their Force Heretic trilogy, and then it's back to Keyes and Lucendo to finish things up. All-in-all it's a very good series, a very strong opening for Del Ray as they come into the Star Wars Universe. Legacy of the Force is even better, with so many differant shades of gray presented, and Edit: Karen Traviss (doh!) and Aaron Allston doing spectacular, and Troy Dennings sucking far less than usual so far.

He said that the game store accidentally gave him the expansion for free. So far as his money cheating issues go: I don't think he enjoys moving his armies. Instead he just makes new ones where there's a border and then invades. I'm fairly certain the only reason he bought it is for the Command Your Men combat typical of games such as Age of Empires. And Rollercoaster tycoon is an awesome game. I don't care how old it is. Heck, I still play TIE Fighter and X-Wing! In fact, I'm still on the early levels of both.

Nice story, Mad! Finally got through to reading it (Nothing like having virtual schoolwork to do to make you do other stuff you were going to get around to later). I liked the story, and hope you expand on it. If nothing else, you certainly have a good, easy-to-read-through writing style. @Budious: Very nicely done- I liked the symbolism annd similes throughout. Well done all around! A Poem: What is... What is fear? Fear is treading water deeper than you are tall, with no air in your lungs and a colossal wave blotting out the iron-gray sky. What is pain? Pain is a fire in your chest, organs trying to claw their way out, a torrent of water overhead, and a current dragging you further under. What is rejection? Rejection is being thrown backward, smashing against a sandy bottom, sending shells into your skin, and making you forget which way is up. What is resilience? Resilience is grabbing at the sandy bottom on all fours, pulling yourself forward as your leg tries to head for shore, and ignoring all of the signals your body sends you. What is hope? Hope is kicking up, breaking the surface of the water, and gulping down great breathes of air. What is triumph? Triumph is smashing through a wave four times bigger than you are, shaking water from your hair, and crying out your victory to the heavens. What is life? Life is a balance, existing somewhere between the human race and nature. It is not a goal to be attained, but a road to be walked. What is living? Living is charging through the shore break, being repelled five times and trying six. It is surfing. ... I enjoy surfing in case you didn't notice. I'm terrible at it and typically leave a nipple or two attached to the board (Extremely painful, I assure you) but I still enjoy it. The poem was inspired by trying to get through a particularly difficult breakline with a longboard that didn't agree with me.

According to Lucas it is most certainly the Falcon. It also shows up in some Star Trek movie right as a Borg Cube (?) is blowing up. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Image:Akira-and-Falcon-STFC.jpg

Will do. The friend who's selling it is kind of an idiot and assumes that the game is very accurate with regards to history. Well, that and he insists that he's a great player of it, even though he keeps using the money cheat. I still haven't got much cash at the moment, though, and I kind of need to fill up my car, so... Might be a while.

Total War: America Set during the founding of the colonies, you can command armies of native Americans, pilgrims, or wildlife to attack eachother! But look out- the native Americans are very succeptible to disease, and the Pilgrims have little to no food/survival experience. In the end one fight will probably wipe you both out. But look on the bright side: The campaign will be super easy!

On a completely and totally unrelated note: Could this be the source of Balmora's name?

I'm not saying that it's wrong that either one was locked up- far from it- just that I feel kinda guilty for taking pleasure in it, that's all.

Super Star Wars

I feel like such a dork for not having knowledge of this sort of thing... But then I realize that I wrote a couple of articles on wookiepedia/corrected them, and realize that I am in fact the Ultimate n00b, and that all is well with the world... -
I really shouldn't take any joy in this at all. It's like when Martha Stewart was led off to jail, almost- it's a miserable thing to have happen to you, and yet in the end I find myself sniggering at their misfortune, feeling horrible about doing it, and then feeling good about feeling bad about it, and then continuing going about my life. Props if you recognize the Hitchhiker's referance in there.

Is Rome: Total War any good? I have a friend who doesn't want his copy anymore due to issues with nausea it seems to give him (Don't really get why- he says it's because he played it when he was sick or something) and is willing to sell it to me for ten bucks. It's a good price for a game, regardless, and it seems pretty good, but I kind of want a couple of extra opinions from people who probably own the game. Thus: Is Rome: Total War any good? Vote!

For those of you who don't know, Team Gizka is a project team that's been around for a couple of years now, restoring all of the data cut from KOTOR II. this is their current status so far as fixing everything up goes. Soon all will be complete, and the game will finally include lots more of the cut content that was originally to be featured. Yay! Enjoy, folks!

Had you been on the site while they were now, closed the browser, and then gone back recently? Occassionally the same thing happens to me if I'm in one topic for a while, either reading something long or drafting something long. Usually the "new topic light" as I refer to it works fine for me, though.

OOC: Hmm... I see. I thought we were staying on the planets we'd been marooned on for a little while? Oh, well, guess not. I still have a rather broad story arc for my fellows, so I'll be completing that over the course of... well, a while.
