I feel for your loss, Bill. My grandfather is suffering from a deteriorating mind now, and it's hard being with people as they head toward life's final journey. Bitter as it may feel, you have to recognize that death is, sometimes, the best thing for these people, and you have to put yourself in their shoes. When you can't live your own life the way you used to and need constant attention to keep you around, is would you prefer that or to pass on into the next great adventure of this world? I know that losing a family member is hard, for I've lost them. Right now the best place to be is probably with your mother, with your father's parents, with any siblings you might have, helping them and bonding together as a family. Hard as it is, the pain will pass some day, and you'll find yourself looking back and remembering how he lived rather than how he died.

BTW: Scathane (sp?) is the BEAK Master, I believe. Also: The similarities between Harry Potter and Star Wars are just the result of epitaphs. A number of items recur in the Hero's Journey throughout cultures and stories. For example, one might compare The Princess Bride to Star Wars and find that there are a number of similarities, or Tolkein's Lord of the Rings trilogy. In addition to that, the plot is so simplified for both the book and the movie that they really can't help but be the same. I know that thing is just a joke and poking fun in good humor, but it always kind of ticks me off...

I hear some new comedy called "Road Trip from Hell" is starting filming tomorrow... Just a rumor, though. I'm going to see Transformers tomorrow, see if it's any good when you no nothing about the original plot. So far as I know, the movie consists of: 1) Giant robots kicking the tar out of each other. 2) Automobiles turning into giant robots, and giant robots turning into vehicles. 3) Shia Lebeouf The first two look pretty good. The last one has the potential to suck hairy Wookie balls.

A) According to the sorting hat, Gryffindor and Slytherin were great friends at the time of the founding, which might explain why the hat thought that Harry had great qualities for both houses. B) Voldemort says that he passed a bit of himself into Harry the night he tried to kill him. First: There's a little button labeled "Edit" that you can click on in the upper right hand corner of one of your posts if you want to go back and add more information to it, or correct it. Second: The Imperial Ranking thing is a sign of how many posts you've made. I don't know how many posts equals what rank, and please don't make a thread about it. If you're really curious, just PM one of the moderators. As for changing your avatar: move your cursor over to the "Home" link at the top of the page, but do not click. When the drop-down menu appears click on "Your Account." From there click on the button labeled "Your Info." Scroll down to the very bottom, and you now have two choices for your avatar: Number one is to select an image from the gallery. To do this, simply click the "show gallery" button. If you want to link to an off-site avatar, you must first host it on a free hosting site. http://www.photobucket.com http://www.imageshack.com Both of those sites work fine for hosting avatar images. Once you've uploaded your avatar image onto one of your picture accounts, highlight the URL for that picture and copy it. Then paste the URL into the box above the "Save Avatar" button and you're golden. One last note: If your avatar is too big, people tend to whine. My massive "TOFU IS THE MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE" sign got me yelled at, primarily because it was too big to be displayed on most monitors. (It's a joke. Don't worry, eventually you'll think I'm hilarious. That or you'll want to kill me, like most folks 'round these parts opt for.) If you want to change the size of an image on photobucket, just click on the "edit" button and select the "avatar" measurements for your image. As for imageshack... In all reality the frog-like bureaucrats in the first book are immensely annoying, and thus you would snap at 'em, too. As for with the Chiss, I decidedly remember the characters being disappointed occasionally when things didn't go their way, but not really threatening anything, beyond that the Vong would get them if they failed to unite their forces with every one's.

According to AI (Who hasn't been seen 'round these parts in quite a while) you're a tremendously funny goof-off, meaning that you should fit back in just fine with the addittions to the community.
