I think this has been mentioned before. Since in RebEd you can opt to have a character be recruited be either side (at the same time). At which I think that character falls under the "first come, first recruit" category. Therefore, the possibility of having "more" characters on one side than another is possible (although I've never done this or tried myself). But as J has stated, the character slots are "hardcoded" so the max number is set permanently in electrons. And the "key" to those little devils (the electrons) are locked up in the source code

School and filled up timetable has mean't that I couldn't have come as often as i would have wanted to. Yeah, @ ~7400 posts, Mad doesn't have the time to get here and contribute It happens, but you're right Eagle. Lately about 95% of all posts are in the "Outside Interests" category, and not quite SW related. I'm surprised about the lack of comments and stories on RR considering everybody's been waiting for quite a long time, and now it's beta-released. I can't wait to get some time to complete my Galaxy Configuration so I can post a "new" story. But unfortunately OT at work looks like lasting until the end of the year (I'm happy with the $, but dog-tired at the end of the day).

Well since the major SW canonicity is from the Movies I guess that if it was in the movies then it IS right. A question then: When I saw the original showing of STAR WARS on the big screen, Han shot first! It's in the movie, therefore "canon". Oh no, but wait, GL in a fit of lunacy (and "PC" disease) edits the movie and Han doesn't shot first. It's in the movie, therefore "canon". Oh no, but wait (again), he's not done screwing things up. Now Han shoots simultaneously with Greedo. It's in the movie, therefore "canon". I'm expecting the next version to have Han "talk his way out of a confrontation with Greedo" When will the insanity stop! So, which is "canon": A) Han shot first; B) Han shot second; or C) Han shot simultaneously? If your answer is anything but A, then GL has brainwashed you. Get a lobotomy. GL is NOT infallible, therefore you can conclude that the movies might be "canon" but it doesn't mean they are without error(s).
