  1. I dont know where you're getting stuck exactly, but I'll walk you through to the part where you should be able to figure it out. Open Rebed and select "major character" or "minor characters", then highlight the one you want to change. A picture of that character will appear, along with all their stats. Those stats can be edited by clicking in the fields and typing a new value. You will see their picture, then if you look real hard, about a few centimeters to the left of the upper-left corner of the picture will be the letter "E". Its pretty hard to see, so if you cant find it, just wave your mouse around that area a bit until you see it depress. Hit that button and then you can edit the text file by clicking in the box, or you can load the pictures by right clicking it and selecting load.
  2. The forums are back up! Hooray! Thanks to all the administrators who've been working on the problem!
  3. Should I be worried if Lithunwrap doesnt show it? I dont want to go all the way through the conversion process and have it not work.
  4. Okay, this time I tried using a single bitmap for the textures, which I added to the model in gmax. It took me a while, but I finally got the Bulwark to look good in gmax. So, I export it to lith in MD3 format, where... It doesn't show up in the preview section. Like I said earlier, it looks great in Gmax, but once I export it, it won't even show up in lithunwrap. What should I do?
  5. Try Mask's model importer tutorial. I've been using that in my ongoing quest to get a Bulwark Battlecruiser. While its true that they focus on building your own models, you can use the conversion topics in those tutorials to teach you about applying textures and stuff. To my knowledge, gmax cant import max files, so you should try using .3ds whenever possible. Anyway, the skinny of it is downloading Mask's tutorials from the download section.
  6. Here are the textures, original OPT file, the x files and the 3ds files. The grey bmp is what covers most of the materials, while the bubbles on the side and the window in front use the blue color (materials 20 and 25 in lithunwrap) http://home.graffiti.net/ToguroAni:graffiti.net/Bulwark.zip
  7. Ignore the error in Rebed and run the game. The Allegiance works, it just wont show in Rebed. Not sure about the other one
  8. Update: I think its finished! It looks really good in lithunwrap, at least. Someone download it and let me know how it works! http://home.graffiti.net/ToguroAni:graffiti.net/BulwarkBattle.zip Edit: I got home and tried this, and the models dont appear in-game! Could someone help me figure this out?
  9. Hi everyone! I've been working on a new Bulwark Battlecruiser for Rebellion. its from XWA, but hey its cool looking! Heres what I've got so far: http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y266/ToguroAni/Bulwarkpic.jpg What do you think?
  10. Sorry about the double post, but I have an update: turns out that I only need the XWA registry to use the models on the site Mask mentioned. Is there a way of either bypassing this or getting just the registry file? (please note that I am not asking for an illegal download of XWA, only a way to use the Opt23ds program that Mask mentions above)
  11. I downloaded the Op2ds, but it said I need to have XWA installed in order to use them. I dont own XWA, so how do I get around this?
  12. I'm in gmax now, and I selected "Import", but the .MAX file doesn't show up. Am I looking in the wrong area, or is there a plugin I need to download?
  13. woot! its up! Congratulations, Mad! as soon as I get home I'll pop it in and take a look
  14. okay. when I get home I'll upload these things into gmax. Can you give me suggestions on how to reduce polycount?
  15. Is there a way I could upload these models into gmax? If so I could maybe shrink them down or something to reduce poly count? I'd like to get these in rebellion but I dont have the cash to buy 3d Studio Max. Anyway I can do it using the free programs?
  16. I often hear people talking about models from XWA and how they put them in Rebellion. Well, I found a site with all kinds of models, including a new Dreadnaught and most importantly, new designs for the Assault Frigate and Bulwark Battlecruiser! They're in MAX format, whatever that means. If you modelers want to try to make heads or tails of it for Rebellion, I'm sure lots of people, including me, would be most appreciative! http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~john22/maxfile.htm
  17. works fine. A bit smaller than I expected (about half the size of an ISD), but no bugs and the ship fires wonderfully. I replaced the bulward with this new one and the firing animation is just great. Two parallel lasers fire right from the nose, making it look really cool. Great job, Krytos
  18. The people of the PGF LOVE the Gaggle Blaster. Its the national drink! Its also standard procedure for all the doors to open and close with "ahhhhhhhh"
  19. Yeah, they're illegal in the same way that doing any sort of rebellion modding is illegal, as its changing the game beyond the programmer's intentions (unless the software company explicitly states that it is okay to do so). Simply using a no-CD crack probably wont get you into much trouble, but taking it a step further by distributing free copies of the game is where most companies draw the line.
  20. That seems to be the case. While I honestly dont know if copying everything from the CD works or not (you are welcome to try!), I DO know that you can run the game by moving the MDATA folder inside the Star Wars Rebellion folder! The only downside is that every now and then the game will crash, but that could be my computer or some of the mods I've made to Rebellion. I havent used the CD all summer, so it works!
  21. Just curious, but when will this thing be ready to download? Of all the models in development right now, I think this one is my favorite =)
  22. ah, good point! I'll do that, thanks!
  23. Come to think of it, this poses a problem: My TC is going to have new entries in the DLL files, movies, pictures, voices, sounds, etc. Honestly, the only way to get all the changes would be to download the entire game. Thats bad, as some unscrupulous person could essentially download Rebellion for free. What should I do?
  24. I'll tell her you said that, La Forge. Coming from another artist, that would mean a lot. I always thought the original pics in Rebellion looked too grainy, and so we're trying to make it more cartoony, since I for one would rather play a bright, vibrant game than a darker one, even if its more realistic.
  25. go to http://www.photobucket.com and create an account, then use the image's URL for your avatar. Thats how I got my pic up.
