Ship Request: Serenity
AdmiralToguroAni replied to AdmiralToguroAni's topic in Rebellion Model Editing
Thanks! It would mean a lot! -
try running it in compatibility mode

If they aren't able to put the downloads up, you can always pull the .BIN files out of the tactical dll file, you know. To do this, you just create a copy of the DLL file and run the model importer for a ship type, then check the log file. Say that you wanted to pull the XX model from the Reloaded. Run the model importer over the file, then check the log. It should say something like: [Commands] -addoverwrite "import\close.x",301,"2620",1033 Modified: 301,2620,1033 -addoverwrite "import\medium.x",301,"2621",1033 Modified: 301,2621,1033 -addoverwrite "import\far.x",301,"2622",1033 Modified: 301,2622,1033 -addoverwrite "import\Drag_c.bin",303,"Drag_c.bmp",1033 Modified: 303,DRAG_C.BMP,1033 -addoverwrite "import\Drag_f.bin",303,"Drag_f.bmp",1033 Modified: 303,DRAG_F.BMP,1033 -addoverwrite "import\Drag_m.bin",303,"Drag_m.bmp",1033 Modified: 303,DRAG_M.BMP,1033 That tells you exactly where all the files are! Just find them, save them as a .bin file, then import them into your copy. Simple as that. Disclaimer: Utmost respect should be given to the creators of these 3D models. If you want to use their models, then you should ask. Use this method only if they allow public use of the models but don't feel like uploading them. Please don't ban me.

yeah. Its no fun hunting down the last person when you know that there won't be a fleet to defend them. it just gets tedious

Ship Request: Serenity
AdmiralToguroAni replied to AdmiralToguroAni's topic in Rebellion Model Editing
Hate to ask, but has anyone had time to look into this? I figure that the Reloaded stuff comes first, but I was kinda hoping to be able to give Mal Reynolds his ship, lol. (for those that don't know, Mal Reynolds is the main character of Firefly) -
Thats still Christian, though. To say that it isn't would be to call Catholics non-Christian as they believe that they must do things like take Communion, confess, etc to enter Heaven. Granted its not what Protestants think is needed, and if the debate was "Are Mormons Protestants?" then I would wholeheartedly agree with you. However, their addendum doesn't take away their Christianity any more than Catholicism's practices. edit: The link on your post didn't work. Could you please re-post it? I'd like to look over it so I can learn more.

I agree. That challenge may have been over the line on this particular thread, psych. Actually, I've been waiting for you to respond to my Mormon question, as I don't see the difference between, say... A mormon who believes the Old Testament, New Testament, and the Book of Mormon A Christian who believes in the standard protestant version of the Bible, and.... A Christian who believes that the books removed by the Catholic council, known as the Apocrypha, are actually the Word of God. All three scenarios feature people who believe in and worship Christ, yet all three have a different spin on the Bible stemming from having different books. Nowhere in the Bible does it say which books are canon and which aren't, and those decisions were made by people in charge of organizing the religion. Therefore, it cannot be said with absolute certainty that the book of Mormon isnt Canon. As a personal anectode, the Ghandi conundrum got me too. After 2 years of soul searching, actually trying to stay Christian without giving up my search for answers (I felt that if I had to stop asking questions then I didnt really deserve to be in the faith), my pastor said "If Ghandi didn't believe in Jesus, then he's in Hell. It SOUNDS unfair, but thats because we're using flawed human logic instead of God's perfect logic." That made me feel embittered toward God, but just being mad at God doesn't mean that you should say he doesn't exist, right? Another year went by, and then I realized something. You don't prove something doesnt exist, you prove that it DOES exist" I say to you "Star Destroyers are real, and people can shoot lightning from their hands." You don't have to prove that these things are fictional, I have to prove that they aren't! The same thing applies with God, in my opinion. Granted, that's where faith comes in. HOWEVER, to that end, I present this argument, set 300 years in the future: There is a wonderful being called God. To prove that God exists, here is a collection of stories, all of which are supposed to be true, telling of amazing deeds that tell you how to live your life (follow the 10 commandments, accept Jesus), and what your future will hold (eternal life in the kingdom of God). There is a future in space, and it is called Star Trek. To prove that Star Trek exists, I give to you all of the (now adequately ancient) novels, all of which are supposed to be true, telling of amazing deeds that tell you how to live your life (the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, live long and prosper), and what our future will hold (going into space and meeting aliens). The second paragraph is, of course, absurd. In either case, however, someone who has never heard of the material has been asked to put faith in the validity of the books and their teachings. To someone who is ALREADY convinced of God, the faith that they associate with the Bible makes it hard to see that ANY book/teaching/philosophy that relies on its following's faith in its own validity will come off as the same to one who doesn't know or believe in that book/teaching/philosophy. I guess the sum of it is that the burden of proof doesn't rest on the agnostic or atheist, but rather it rests on the believer (in any faith).

Silly, this is.

actually Christian teachers would say that the Buddha is in hell, and that he was inspired by the devil. Same as Ghandi. Thats one of the reasons I dropped it.

video game tunes and anime music are my favorites

I'm with Tofu on this one. Once you've obliterated the Alliance HQ (and consequently fought their big fleet), the game is pretty much over. Everything else is just time, in my opinion. Thats usually why I always play HQ only victory. That and I can win in 35 days as the rebs

RR: New Republic Character Contest
AdmiralToguroAni replied to Trejiuvanat's topic in Rebellion Reloaded
consider 100 to be your mark of "This character is good in that skill." You can create a character with say 120 combat. This guarantees that the character will be extremely proficient in combat. I think it can even go over 200. However, 100 is probably the maximum you want to assign someone if you want to be balanced with the other characters. Consider Thrawn's base 100 leadership. He's the most intelligent character in the Star Wars Universe! Anyone with over 100 in a stat should be a better diplomat/spy/combatant than Thrawn is a strategist. -
The Basic Beliefs of a Christian. I believe that God exists. I believe that we are all sinners; nobody's perfect; the penalty of Sin is Death (Hell.). I believe that God loves us. I believe that we can never be good enough to go to Heaven. I believe that God decided to rectify that by sending His Son, His perfect Son, as a sacrifice for our sins. I believe that anyone, ANYONE, who believes thus and asks Jesus to take away our sins and live within him/her will not go to Hell, REGARDLESS of what they have done, or who they are, or if they are led astray. It CANNOT be undone. The will go to Heaven. How exactly does this differ from Mormonism that believes in and worships Jesus? They call him the Savior believe in the resurrection, etc, so why wouldn't it make them Christian? What you've said are the important things don't exclude them.

I've created a new Total Conversion, and i want to upload

Do you know about the "edit" button? It keeps you from quadruple posting and will likely generate an answer quicker (I speak from experience) -
yeah. It seems to just be a GUI that automatically writes in the file you want to a pre-programmed location in the .DLL files. I'm working on a program that will do this for the agents.

I wanted to mod a game based on my text RPG and this site came up. A year later I'm STILL working it, but I enjoy talking to people here, and the community is really helpful.

Tried it and it works pretty well, except that the music doesnt repeat since its not set to. I could make it longer but that would require a large amount of space. Either way its better than what we have now. Thanks Forge.

oh yeah, I forgot. Is Resource hacker and all of its files in the model directory with the importer?

put the ENTIRE filepath in the .ini file, such as C:\Lucasarts\Star Wars Rebellion\tactical.dll

Hard to say about that specific case, but theres a big LDS following around the uni and they claim to be Christian although they do use the term "mormon." Around here though, that seems to be like saying "I'm Methodist" or "I'm Catholic" or whatever. Thats not to say that there might be another branch of Mormonism that DOESN'T worship Jesus, just that Joseph Smith, the founder, believed in Jesus and wrote the Book of Mormon based on that belief

To Tofu: I said Mormonism, not Islam/Muslim, although if you're just glancing over it, then I can see where you may have made a mistake. To Psych: Mormons are Christians because they believe in and worship Jesus Christ. You may not think of them as Christians (just like some Protestants don't think Catholics are Christians), but they are. The suffix "ian" denotes "the belief in", and the prefix "Christ" should speak for itself. Just as a "terrorist" is one who believes in terror, and "atheism" is one who believes in a lack of a higher power (Theism=belief in divinity), Mormons believe in Christ and thus are Christian. edit: Why just talk when I can back it up. Here are some quotes. "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has always accepted Jesus of Nazareth as testified of in the Bible: the divine Redeemer and Son of God who atoned for the sins of all mankind and ensured our universal resurrection. The church has never ceased to affirm that there is no other name given whereby man can be saved (see Acts 4:12). Another book that the church reveres as scripture, the Book of Mormon, declares on its title page that it was written "to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God, manifesting himself unto all nations."" Also, "Obviously there are doctrinal differences between Mormons and people of a variety of other Christian denominations. But Latter-day Saints believe that it must be possible for people to have different points of view and still be Christians. Given the large number of Christian denominations, all of whom disagree on points large and small, this conclusion is inescapable. Latter-day Saints embrace as fellow Christians those who profess faith in Jesus Christ. In the same vein, they believe that no doctrinal difference or variation in practice can loom so large as to cancel out their own sincere belief in and commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Redeemer." To use C.S. Lewis's quote: "It is not for us to say who, in the deepest sense, is or is not close to the spirit of Christ. We do not see into men's hearts. We cannot judge, and are indeed forbidden to judge. It would be wicked arrogance for us to say that any man is, or is not, a Christian in this refined sense . . . When a man who accepts the Christian doctrine lives unworthily of it, it is much clearer to say he is a bad Christian than to say he is not a Christian." And lastly, if you believe that because the books are newer than that of the other Bible books, remember that many books were thrown out for a variety of reasons, some of them political (The book of Mary Magdelene). As such, it seems off to call them non-Christians, since they believe in and worship Jesus.

Mormons are Christians btw Psych. I don't really know if you knew that or not, but I couldn't be sure from that post. They have an extra book, but they still worship Jesus. I don't really get the point of swearing. I hardly ever do it, myself. If I want to offend someone, I'll do it with my ideology rather than words.

Yoda SAYS size matters not, but what he says and what he does are two different things. Look at him lift the X-wing. He has some trouble with it in ROTJ, as shown by crinkling his face and squinting. He does it in the Sith Battle with Palpy, and a LOT in the Clone Wars cartoon. Also, consider the fact that Dooku was already worn down from fighting Ani and Obi, so if Yoda came in with fresh feet then of course Dooku would be at a disadvantage. Still, Dooku has no trouble throwing the pipe, and Yoda has to take more effort to stop it. Dooku owns.

You know what bothers me about Rebellion? No music in tactical. Those laser noises get old after a while, and I think some nice soft background music would go well with it. If I remember correctly, in one of the DLL files (I'll look it up this weekend) there is reference to the MDATA music files. I wonder if we could put music in the tactical screen if we played around with them for a bit.

Grievous: Ha ha ha hhhhhhk ::coughs up a squirrel:: I am General Grievous, and I can use 4 lightsabres at once! Well, 5 if I stand on one foot, but then I cant move. Anyway, let's fight! I want to be in control of the Separatists! ::cough cough:: Dooku: Sigh. Okay. Dooku yawns and does his military strategy while holding out one hand and barbecuing poor Grievous with force lightning, then trades him in for a used landspeeder at Tochi station, where he went to pick up some power converters. Dooku Vs. Anakin and Obi: How it should have went: Dooku: Your swords, please. Lets not make a mess in front of the Chancellor. Obi-Wan: You won't get away this time, Dooku. This time, we do it together. Anakin: Yes, master. They fight for a bit, and Dooku kicks Obi in the jaw, knocking him out. Anakin: I'm twice as strong as I was 3 years ago. Somehow. Dooku: Oh, okay then. BZZZZZZZZAP!!!!!!!!! Dooku uses one hand to fight with his lightsabre and the other to tag Anakin with Force Lightning.
