  1. It's already been resolved by the SW Technical Commentaries as well as making it into published SW material http://www.theforce.net/swtc/ssd.html#size Sorry CorellianAce101, someone did the math years ago
  2. I have to disagree there. While individual authors may have their own style, each NJO books fit really well into established story arcs and continuity. There is a lot of retcon where other characters get their scene back into Star Wars. The earlier standalone books like Darksaber were utter trash compared to the editing and storyline planning done by Del Ray and the Lucas editorial board. I recommend starting with Vector Prime, as it kicks things off, and move directly into Star by Star. One of the best of the series and focuses on the Jedi children now that they are adults.
  3. Wikipedia is great for the casual info search... I can really read about many topics quite easily. I wouldn't actually cite it as a source for any research, but it makes a great starting place.
  4. Sure he could, either refilm footage or have it digitally recreated. But that would probably be a lot of changes.
  5. A bug could have gotten onto the page when they scanned it?
  6. They are designed as a wrapper for various encodings of video and audio. Not as known as the standard .mpg or .avi files, but it's usually great quality and features. I don't know if standard DVD players will play them though
  7. Really is a cultural divide... we get outraged about people hijacking a plane and killing thousands of people, they get outraged over cartoons and the words of a dead emperor. There really is no way to compromise with religious extremism that promotes martrydom.
  8. Isn't ironic when a speech how religion and violence don't go together... start a wave of religous violence?
  9. That is the link under Forums -> Profile
  10. The OGM files themselves may not have had other audio tracks. I believe there's an option in Windows Media Player to change switch audio tracks, I don't really know exactly. I'm using Media Player Classic with the K-lite codecs.
  11. What program are you using to rip? I know DVD2SVCD has an audio selection feature, DVD Shrink has been recommended to me but I'm not sure what features it has.
  12. I do custom builds for people, generally with generic parts for very cheap. No real customizations... but I just hate the XP theme, I switch it back to class view. Besides custom wallpaper and my own picky way of organizing the Start Menu, really little else I do. I usually partition things into 3 parts for Program Files, Games, and data ... if that counts However currently I am using a laptop, mostly for the mobility. I'm not that mobile, but I like something I can carry around if necessary. I bought a new machine a few weeks back after my old one died. It is the cheapiest 15.4" with a Mobility Radeon X1600 Acer Aspire 5672 Intel Core Duo 1.66 1 GB DDR2 RAM 120 GB SATA Hard drive Mobility Radeon X1600 128MB Purchase price: $1079.99 Of course I reformatted it and installed XP Pro, converted the hard drive to NTFS partitions.
  13. Sure, multiple audio tracks means it can have more than one language
  14. Because they didn't really save much of the original reels from what I understand. There were few stuff from the original trilogy when it was time to make the prequels, they had to go back and use the movies as a reference to figure out how to recreate certain sets. No old plans, just figuring out how to make the Tatooine home or the Tantive set was done from the old movies.
  15. Star Wars Classic gets a Phantom Edit?
  16. Basically they were created from the original Laserdisc versions, those came from the 70s film reels. After so many conversions and age, it is bound to lose quality. The special edition was digitally enhanced to the theaters. And it went through another round of digital enhancements for the DVD release.
  17. AI is something Eville is still working on. It takes a lot of work with so many ships and is quite complicated. Single player campaign is something slowly being worked on, but the majority is still getting all the right ships perfect. SW music probably won't be distributed anytime soon
  18. Post count isn't everything folks! Sorry if the past summer was the most active time for you... but at least everyone got reset to April too
  19. Ah where'd you go dinochick? The poster looks like somewhere in China
  20. Hmmm are you talking about Dead Rising? Just the most mind-numbing going-around-and-killing-things game... only entertaining when my mind is already shut down
  21. On the look, I'm hoping for something clean and easy to look at. While the graphics are nice to make it stand out, the content is really what is important. If we have large headers and images everywhere, it would make the forums cumbersome to navigate and use. Simple functionality over flashy graphics. I don't mind SMF as it is now.
  22. Personally I'd rather not switch to any licensed software. It is more for me to deal with, especially with unfamiliar mods and support. I'd rather see a full portal site, if you want to expand on the capabilities of PFF. Consider where you want to go, do you want to keep making subforums for all kinds of games? It seems that "Petroglyph Fan Forums" would be a misnomer then. Rather stick what you do best with the audience you have, and you'll do well like Relicforums has done for their site. I'm inclined to go with phpBB/phpNuke - that is what is powering most of the sites and that is what I am most familiar with. Even our backend is synchronized for user sharing, so you can easily go from the main SWR site to our other sites. I run the central files, updates, maintainence, and everything. It is quite slick for those who are not code hackers and don't need to look at code.
  23. Avatars should have the proper permissions now
  24. Alright Fosh. You made me feel bad for a little because I've really been the only one not sleeping, trying to restore all the website services. Thanxs for the support though z3r0x I'll look into the avatar issue. This is running the latest SMF 1.1 RC3 forums, so there maybe some bugs they have not fixed.
