  1. "...so that's what they had the Interdictor for..." "Sir?" the captain, a brown-colored Mon Cal, asked. Ackbar shook his head. "I was merely talking to myself, Captain." It was time for a change of tactics. "Direct our bombers to attack along these vectors." he said, typing on the keypad of the holoscreen. as the vector appeared onscreen, the captain looked at Ackbar, surprised. "You are directing them into the thick of enemy firepower?" "The destroyers won't hit them if they keep erratic maneuvers. They themselves, on the other hand, are hard to miss. One more thing..." The Calamari cruisers, halfway turned around to face the Star Destroyers again, stopped firing on the larger ships for a while to redirect fire into the gap between the Judicator and Visage, making it a bad place for TIE fighters to be. Only one TIE was actually hit, but a lot of them panicked, pulling out of the zone or engaging in a series of random maneuvers to stay alive. from above, the rebel bomber squadrons sped in, covered by the newly-arrived reinforcement fighters. Light cruiser Shadow, being more nimble than any other capital ship in the engagement zone, had turned around and once more began an approach on the destroyers from below. As the Calamari cruisers closed in with the destroyers and directed their fire into their shields, the Bombers fired waves of proton torpedoes into the Visage's shield facing the Judicator, the one less powered in order to redirect power to the side facing the Calamari cruisers, still pounding on her. The first wave of torpedoes hit the destroyer's shields, causing a brilliant fireball. Returning fire from the destroyers had killed two Y-Wings, but the losses were still acceptable. Cruiser Mon Celasi had suffered partial shield failure and was slowly pulling away from the Judicator now, rolling to expose less damaged shields. The second wave of torpedoes killed the shields on this side of the destroyer, five or six impacted on the hull already. The fighters withdrew, knowing the Imperials had probably already thought of a plan to hit them and hurt them badly, should they attempt another run like this. They concentrated on the TIEs which were beginning to come after them. This was Shadow's cue to suddenly break and dive upwards between the enemy ships, constantly rolling. It poured fire at the unprotected hull of the Visage, dealing heavy damage. Being much smaller than the destroyers, it was not as easily hit, and the turbolaser fire from Judicator that missed it impacted on Visage's hull as well. Shadow took heavy shield damage, but managed to come out of the crossfire relatively unharmed, whereas Visage had by now lost the shield on the other side as well, and took heavy damage from the Liberty and Mon Sartah. OOC: Witness... the birth of the Ackbar slash! EDIT: Ooops, didn't know Mad was going to post. should have put a placeholder in there. I take it the Chronicle has taken out the Interdictor? Well, that doesn't conflict with my part too well, does it?
  2. OK, need to sleep now. Good night, people! Lychee
  3. OOC: Yup, but be aware my ridiculously superior tactics are going to destroy any ship that dares enter this system [enter mad laugh here]!
  4. I moved my forces into position. Your turn, Admiral. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
  5. On the viewscreen the two Star Destroyers grew larger and larger at a menacing speed, leaving the other two ships trailing behind. On the tactical screens Ackbar could see clouds of starfighters surrounding the gigantic vessels. He was standing on the bridge of the cruiser Liberty, one of the newest additions to the Mon Cal Fleet, able to withstand close combat with a Star Destroyer longer than any other ship in the fleet. Ackbar had been given special force of command by the alliance, giving him the authority of a full Admiral; ofiicially he was no more than a mere advisor, though. "Send a call to all Alliance Forces in the area" he commanded. "There might be more Imerial forces waiting. Order Freedom and Mon Celasi to attack the Destroyers from the port side, Mon Sartah and Liberty will attack from the starboard side. Have fighters screen our cruisers and have all of them standing by for maneuver FM-23 as in the exercises. Order the light cruisers come around for maneuver CM-12." The four heavy cruisers moved to attack the Imperials from either side, while the two light cruisers dove beneath them. Now he would have to wait for the imperials to react in the way he hoped.
  6. There was a topic?! No, seriously, I just read through the whole thread again, and it has been determined 3-4 times by now that there isn't anything to add to the original topic, and that we just wanted to keep the thread alive (for reasons i can only guess), the last time being some 4-5 pages ago. Kaiser Franz Joseph I.
  7. Michael Land - Rollercoaster of Death
  8. So are we using fruits now or vegetables or spices or desserts or drinks or northafrican countries or small furry animals or just any random words that pop into our minds? Changed to Monkey Island 3 soundtrack and took the brush out of my mouth, BTW. VW Golf.
  9. Yah, you could do that, GAT. Be sure to bring an overwhelming force, not so overwhelming it can't be beaten, though. Basil.
  10. Awright, I'll sacrifice myself and will from now on use spices instead of fruit, as a test. I'd like to post in the RPG, but I'm at Mon Calamari until anything really exciting happens, and it's very late and I'm tired although I don't want to go to sleep and I'm holding a brush in my teeth and I'm really busy listening to the Grim Fandango soundtrack and apart from that I'm posting here right now, writing a sentence whose length is really out of proportion with the useful info it contains. Oh, and Cumen.
  11. Fruits are named differently in different countries as well, due to language differences. In many cases the names are similar, but sometimes they differ so much I am forced to look them up in a dictionary. Strawberry.
  12. So? Why not use fruit twice - if it's fitting at the moment? Cranberry.
  13. Say, are you people talking about mercenaries and Zsinj and stuff just to keep posting fruits? ...'cause I am! Cherimoya!
  14. Sure, a whole army would cost too much. They're good to be used as support units or mere cannon fodder, though, like the pirates Zsinj hired for his strike at Kuat. Apricot.
  15. Noooooo. Reeeally? You think so?
  16. Uh, yeah, Banana's a cool bounty hunter.
  17. Ackbar looked up to the officers. "I am not going to leave with you on this mission. I am going to return to Mon Calamari to help the planetary authorities set up defense plans for various imperial attack tactics. May the Force be with you." he turned to the others. "with all of you."
  18. "We've recieved bad news from Spectre's task force." Merick said as he entered the briefing room. Hechtman and Ackbar were waiting there. Merick slid a datacard into the holoprojector in the middle of the room. "This was transmitted from a fighter assigned to record the fight for motivational documentaries to show the other pilots. As you can see, it anything but that." The holoprojector showed yellow missiles impacting into the interdictor's shields, then, as they seemed to have reached a point close to collapse, an Imperial Star Destroyer appeared mere kilometers next to the frigate, annihilating it with just a few shots. A few seconds later the recording cut off, there was no need to explain what had happened to the fighter. "How could they have jumped in so accurately?" Hechtman said. "They used our own gravity generators against us" Ackbar said calmly. "a tactic I didn't know of until now." He closed his eyes, thinking. "New technology bringing new tactics. Do we know who the imperial commander in charge was?"
  19. This is exactly what I did. *sigh* I give up...for now.
  20. Unfortunately, yes. No offense to your country intended, it's just that here you can't turn on a radio or TV for five minutes without seeing or hearing those guys. Really, really annoying.
  21. Yeah, me too, though I'm not sure of what use I could be.
  22. I don't think there is anything else about them. Unless someone vehemently disagrees, I say let this thread die in peace.
  23. Ackbar could hardly hide the joy from his face. His world was free of the Imperial troops and the citizens of Mon Calamari celebrated this victory in the streets of the cities. He looked out the viewport of the shuttle that was to take him to the surface, the newly liberated world glistening in blue below. The celebrations woud be short, though. The planet had to prepare for the Empire's return, which was sure to follow sooner or later. Through their victory, the Alliance had now been forced to protect one system, to relocate resources to one spot, and one the Empire knew of. Also, the rebel base on Dantooine was no longer deemed totally secure. a new base would have to be found within the next few months. For now, though, it was time to go planetside, to finally breathe Mon Calamari's humid air and to join the celebration.
  24. Thought of that as well... fca.3ds isn't that fancy, is it? *collapses and begins to weep, wailing 'Ich hasse dieses Modell!'*
