  1. Have you tried reinstalling the game, or perhaps a different CD? Unless there are heavy modifications, outside of RebEd and it's affiliate programs, I can't think of any other reason you should have problems saving.
  2. I always found that the Titan was quite effective, or at least more so than the ISDs and ISD IIs. As for the Mon Remonda, I'm at a loss then. Perhaps the description in the game will provide more answers?
  3. What direction is the MC-80c facing, and at what angle (on the Z axis) is it relative to what it is firing at? Actually, the MC-80c is very poorly equipped, and more along the lines of the MC-80b, according to the novels that is, so what you are describing sounds about right.
  4. Admiral Thrawn stepped into the cantine, two stormtroopers in tow. Upon seeing the Imperials most of the patrons stiffened, some slowly slinking away, presumably to hidden exits close by. Cocking an eyebrow Thrawn signaled for the stormtroopers to wait outside. With military precision they departed, the hiss-clang of the dorrs shutting behind them placing the patrons at ease. Walking up to the bar and selecting the cleanest available stool,, Thrawn ordered a rare vintage of Aldaraanian wine. When the bar tender returned, the admiral placed more than enough credits on the bar, but after a brief look at the rank insignia, the bar keep smiled and said "On the house, sir." Scowling, Thrawn reached down and removed the rank pin and code cylenders, and walked to the nearest booth, taking his drink, but leabing the credits. By now the rumbling over his arrival had subsided, and most of the patrons had returned to their conversations. There were some familiar faces, both Imperial and Rebel, though the latter only from intellignece reports. All of that was of little concern, though. This was off time, and there was no room for business in off time.
  5. Wow, I didn't know that. Like I said, I only played it for 7 days. It's very lonely starting a game when you don't know any one... if you decide to get it Mad I'll look into getting it too.
  6. Those games will be even more troublesom to get than DF. I don't even know who the publisher was, and even if I could find out who, they probably don't sell them any more. You'll have to check somewhere that trades games in, or yard sales.
  7. I've been looking for a copy of Dark Forces, but I can't seem to find it. there are still a few places I can check, but I havne't had time yet. I downloaded it, but I couldn't get the sound to work. My last resort is to borrow my friend's copy and burn it.
  8. I don't think so, but I only played for 7 of my 14 days. It sounds like AA would know better than me
  9. True, writing the music isn't difficult, but having an orchestra play it, well, that might be . You could use MIDI, but that would give it a NES feel. I don't think it is possible, or rather, we don't know how, to change the music. You could create the music and simply allow peolpe to download it in .mp3 format, but that would be a big download.
  10. I think the subscription is $15.oo US per month, or you can buy a time card for around $40.00. The one thing that really dissapointed me was tht I couldn't be an Imperial Officer or a Stormtooper.
  11. There are a lot of things stopping them from winning an oscar, though. First, the movies always come out in April or May, so they are after the Oscars and have to wait almost a full year 'till the next ones. By then, most people have forgotten about it for more recent releases. Then, there is the fact that it is a Sci-Fi movie. True LotR is fantasy, which is along the same lines, but it was based on a timless novel. Star Wars is geeky, and so no matter how good it is, the accademy will probably never give it a major oscar.
  12. Only if you have enough credits to buy your own ship. If not, you'll have to sell your landspeeder and buy passage to another planet.
  13. I'll assume you are talking about commanding in the RPG. There realy isn't a restriction on what you can do based on your forum rank, but it may be a good idea to go on that for a while. For example, if there is another member who is commanding a ship, like and ISD, and that is the course you want to take, you could be a junior officer aboard his/her ship and earn your reputation. When you are sufficiently promoted (to commodor or so) you could move to commanding a taskforce. I started as the captain of an ISD and, rather than follow my forum rank, promoted myself to admiral after two more forum ranks. Like I said, though, there isn't any restrictions, though if you'd like to be an Imperial officer, I'd be more than willing to have you aboard the my ship. If you weren't talking about the RPG, disregard all I've said above, and consider me officially stumped .
  14. Alas, I've no skill in such things. Rather, I would compare ILM's work in the SW movies to other CG work from other movies. For example, the CG work in LotR is far better than that found in the SW movies. It may well have been done by ILM (Though I don't think so. I think it was an affiliate of Pixar. I only know it was a Canadian company), but no matter how you spin it, it was better. Even the work you find in some PC games is boardering on the high-quality stuff you see in movies. I just think that they've been slacking up until the clone battle in Ep II.
  15. It's an MMORPG. It's simialr to KotR, though far bigger (hence the MMO ). I'd equate it more to Ever Quest than KotR. You collect items, credits, experience, choose a class, learn skills, etc. When I played the 14-day free trial (which is still available if you're interested) I found gameplay to be awkward and clumbsy. The controls are nonsensical and scattered and the HUD isn't very helpful. I'm sure it get's easier the longer you play it, which is the catch since you pay for your time, but most players want a game they can get the hange of early on and are challenged though gameplay, not the basics of the game. Also, despite the caracter customization, almost every one of the same race looks alike. I guess it's pretty obviouse what I think of it, but if you've got a fast connection and meet the system req's, you can try thegame for 14 days free here:http://www.gamespot.com/promos/swgalaxies/
  16. Honestly, with all the improvements in CG, I think ILM is doing a rather crappy job on some of their work. The space battles and the final battle in Ep II were good, but the stuff with the battle droids in Ep I, as well as Yoda and some of the stuff in the senate in Ep II, were amature at best. I think they need to stop relying on the SW name, and start to put out quality stuff. I for one would like to see Ep III win an oscar, since it is the last of the movies.
  17. Up late tonight AA? I can never get the right balance of mines and refineries to make my resourcing effective... well that, and the fact that managing every planet that way gets very tedious. The same goes for garrisoning, though I usually manage Endor and Coruscan my self.
  18. OOC: We can continue the preparations for the final battle, but hold the event off until thier return. Remember, you characters don't have to die in the battle, and you don't have to loose all of your ships. Plus, if the Empire takes Sluis Van, there can be a post ANH battle after we finish the other RPGs going on, where the Rebels take it back, maybe a post-ESB setting? That way they have the shipyards to build up thier fleet for Endor.
  19. I actually avoid the planetary maintenance aspect of the game. I let IMP do all of the resourceing, and even the garrisons, and handle the rest. The man in command of your forces cannot be hindered by administrative duties.
  20. I found him rather endearing. he was like a grandfather. I personally preferred the original Yoda to the newer CG one.
  21. The next KotR will use the same graphics engine. While using the same engine doesn't mean you'll have the same quality of graphics, it's a very good chance. I'll stick to my FPS ganes for now .
  22. If you think about it, a vehicle that requires force powers to drive is a bad idea. The User had to spend extra time and attention just tp ilot it, let alone fight in it.
  23. I'm afraid I'm at a loss for the tank. Was it in Ep II, or is in the Ep III, or in one of the games?
  24. I don't know, there was a cartoonie feel to it. If they added some better lighting, shadows, and improved textureing it would be good.
