  1. I would think that removing the rebels and replacing them with a pirate organization would be most effective. You could replace both sides if you wanted to and pretend there was no Galactic Civil War.
  2. Really? I bought it (for the second time) alone, though FC wasn't out yet. My first copy of the game was sucked into my CD-ROM when I put it in on top of my Jedi Knight disk.
  3. FOUR posts by Jahled with no inturruptions. What has this thread degraded to?
  4. Yeah, depending on what type of websites you visit, you can get a lot of stuff. Some of it is harmless, gather info on you and such, but even those can slow your computer down. There are still those that do worse, and those are the ones to watch for.
  5. For Rebellion? There have been no expansions, though RebEd is around for modifying the game. there are also some "mods" to increase the difficulty of the AI and so on, as well as model changing.
  6. If you are referring to Kaza, you must have a lot of downloads. The program is probably around the size of Rebellion (150 meg) if that. Plus, since Kaza has bee taken down, there is no use in having hte program anymore. If you are not referring to Kaza, I have no clue as to what Kassa is.
  7. That is treu, but for me my cons with the game outweigh the fact that it is free, no matter how good the game is. Plus, since the team working on BF 2 will be recieving money for the game, they are more likely to do a better job.
  8. Access is granted only to authorized members, mostly those with lots of posts and who have been here a while. Other than that, it's pretty much a by-invitation-only forum.
  9. There are a lot of spy-ware "removers" that are actually spy-ware themselves. You have ot be very careful with what you install for such things. The only problem I've ever had with spy-ware was wit hthe "about:blank" homepage. Very annoying, and it installs other spy-wayre on your system.
  10. AA is certainly a good game if you like tactical play. there are few games (short of Rainbow Six, though even that falls short) that provide functional team-play. I'll wait for BF 2, as it will be very similar to AA.
  11. Ad-Aware 6 is free, though some of the advanced features require you to register for a fee. You don't usually need to use them though.
  12. I think it's more along the lines of Ghost Recon, but with better graphics.
  13. Norton is an effective anti-virus program, but the fact that they've been creating new viruses to keep them selves in busines isa big turn off. I don't think there is any good free anti-virus programs out there, though Ad-aware is good for spyware.
  14. There may be some RB stores that still have an old copy of it, though not many. You can check their online store, or the places Mad suggested above.
  15. The only thing that would be stopping us Mad is that we wouldn't have enough credits to buy our command. We'd have to earn it
  16. That in and of its self is nothing nice. Mad and my self are only providing one side of the perspective puzzle. Perhaps a better tactic for you would be to provide the highlights of the game, and why you like, as well as counter-arguments to the cons we've provided.
  17. To run Doom 3 smoothly I had to double my RAM from 512 to 1 GB. With out that extra RAM, I had to run the game at 800 x 600 without shadows. And that's with a Radeon 9800 pro.
  18. Every one will soon be having that problem, Mad. I had to buy more RAM to play Doom 3 with nice graphics. 512 just wasn't enough. Might be time to buy a 64-bit processor...
  19. There are a lot of Imperials I've heard of, but never actually read about. Teradoc, for example. I've read his entry in the SW Encyclopedia, but have never ready any books about him. The same with Screed. The Chapters where I live is always well-stocked in the X-Wing series, though I'm not sure why. I guess SW books aren't as popular here. You can always ask your local Chapters (or Indigo) to order or transfer the book to your store. I don't think they charge extra for that.
  20. IC: The Ambient lighting of the Admiral's command room was lowered to near darkness, only a few perimeter lights providing illumination. Ahead the lights of the control pannel for the Admiral's inner sanctom glowed in the gloom. Taking a deep breath, the captain approached and pressed the access button. The room beyond was little different. Along the edge of the room were variouse pieces of artwork, each similar in style and shape, a single light above providing illumination. The centre of the room was cloaked in darkness, only the soft glow of a tactical display and the two red globes observing it breaking the darkness. "Come in, captain." The order was cooly spoken, little emotion showing through. "Sir," Captain Chiraneau said, his boots clicking as he snapped to attention, "the some of the captains from the other ships in the fleet are wondering when we will depart. They're getting... bored." "These pieces are Sullutian," Thrawn siad, ignoring the captain's statement and indicating the artwork surrounding the room, " a very interesting collection, don't you think?" "Yes, sir, but I don't-" "You don't see the relevance of them? No, I suppose you don't. I've come to a realization, captain. Much of a species can be learned from thier art. Look a the sharp angles inturrupted by smooth curves. Sullustians are logicle people, they work with what should be, the most logical move. The curves indicate that they adapt quickly as well, though only to what makes sense." Thrawn turned to face the captain, who now wore a perplexed expression. "We move to Sluis Van in twelve hours, captain. The fleet there is commanded by a Sullustian of limited talents. They'll not last long." "Sir, Sluis Van is very close to Mon Calamari. Rebel reenforcemnts are only a short while a way. As is their prodigal commander, Ackbar." Thrawn touched the display in front of him and the artwork blurred and changed to display new pieces, more stream-lined and organic. At the far end of the room a new light glowed to life, illuminating wht was evidently a real piece of art. "Should that happen, captain, I'll show Ackbar why the slaves of Grand Moff's shouldn't become artists." OOC:It just occurred to me that Ackbar was still a slave up until shortly before the Battle of Yavin. We'll pretend he's already escaped though.
  21. It would seem that you are right. I've searched everwhyere and have only been able to come up with minimal information on Zsinj. I think the reason for this is taht most people weren't really impressed by him. He a was a poor tactician who threw away his resources in senseless battles. I mean, he lost the Iron Fist, a Super Star Destroyer! Then, rather than repare it, he converts it into the Razors Kiss, a useless piece of junk! It's enough to make any loyal Imperial scream. I was able to find this brief synopsis of what happened i nthe X-Wing books (not the ones by Stackpole). The grammare isn't very good, but I'm sure you can work around that. http://www.angelfire.com/tn/jedicouncil/books4.html
  22. Nice animation Mad! I'd also try and find where Thrawn was posted. Maybe I could get some training by him in the ways of space tactics. After the fall of the Empire, I'd move out to Chiss space.
  23. Its uses are not restricted to recruiting, it glorifies combat that the US Army is currently engaged in. It's a sort of "War Support" tool. Note that most of the maps are set in a middle-eastern setting. I'll not deny that there is some entertainment value in the game, but the US Government probably monitors the servers and send e-mails to those that do well to join up. Plus, because it is free, you don't know what they may be putting on your system. With some of the bills that have been passed relating to Homeland Security, they've got a lot of leverage on such things. I'll stick to Doom 3 and blasting hell-spawned deamons, and stay away from shooting digital Arabs.
  24. I wouldn't touch AA with a ten foot lightsaber. It's nothing but propaganda, and a subversive recruitment tool.
  25. That would be interesting, but the Empire has way more resources, so they could just crush us any time. Plus, it would be ahrd to get all of the factions on Earth to unite to fight the Empire.
