  1. Aye, I meant Battlefrount. Battlegrounds is the RTS. I, too, am hoping that the AT-ATs will be player controlled. If not, there's allways the AT-STs .
  2. As was I, though once Zenoma Sekot wast introduced, the rest was sort of obvious. I think the reason the Vong weren't the next evolutionary step from Humans was the trouble of explaining how they left the galaxy and returned. It would not only take too long, but then they would have to explain why no treace of them was found.
  3. There was some talk a while ago about Star Wars: Battlegrounds and the vehicles/units etc. that would be in it. One particular question related to the use of AT-AT walkers. It seems that we were all wrong in our conclusions that it would not be present in the game: http://www.lucasarts.com/games/swbattlefront/images/screenshots/67.jpg Here we see an Imperial AT-AT walker under attack from some rebel scum. I looks like it is taking damage from some rebel heavy-laser cannons, and htere seems to be some engine glow behind it from a fighter of some sort. I suppose it could be a computer controlled unit, but if it is player controlled it adds some excitment to the game. http://www.lucasarts.com/games/swbattlefront/images/screenshots/36.jpg This is from the Battle of Hoth map. Again we see the AT-AT in front with some AT-STs in the back. Looks like the rebels will be pressed for good vehicles as they are forced to ride tauntauns into battle. http://www.lucasarts.com/games/swbattlefront/images/screenshots/34.jpg This screen from the Kamino map answers my question about fighters. I don't need to explain this image, as I'm sure we all know what it shows. A new question arises though: How does a battle droid man a Droid fighter? http://www.lucasarts.com/games/swbattlefront/images/screenshots/29.jpg Ok, this is the last image I'll bog this topic down with. Of all the thing's I've wanted to do in a game, dropping out of one of these clone trooper drop-ships is near the top of my list. It's the closest you'll get to a helocopter in the SW univers, and it's just plane cool. Definitely keep an eye on this game. I think that it will be the redemption for the series of terrible console games LA has been pumping out in recent months (excluding KotR that is).
  4. Actually, adding in EU stuff wouldn't take anyting out of GL's hands. When a writer is given permission to write and create post-RotJ stuff, they essentally agree that all of their creations are under the ownership and control of Lucas and his companies. He can do wahtever he wants with them. I think he leaves the stuff we have come to accept as fact out because he didn't create it, there for he must not acknowledge it. It's very childish on his part
  5. Perhaps they have. Since there are no records of pre-rupublic humanity, they may have gone through the same evolution as us. Aslo, all of the people in the SW universe seem pretty smart, I mean, look at all of the knowledge they have about starships and what not. Gaining access to the Force would also be a huge evolutionary step. Some humans may have evolved into other aliens, such as the Bothans, or even the Chiss.
  6. Fighters do have many advantages, fore most being the ability to attackk multiple targets at different ranges, but I think I would take a Lancer Frigate over a squadron of TIEs of any sort. Since the Empire had no shortage of good naval officers, I think it would have worked out better for them.
  7. I would want to be one of the stormtroopers, becuase I wouldn't want any one to see my face . We'll have to find a Death Star Soccer ball first Mad
  8. Wasn't criticizing , just making a comment. I remember reading that somewhere, but I'n my opinion there would be the same problem with all fighters, though I guess the Defender would have been the worst. I should have clarified my-self .
  9. I stumbled across this tuff while I was searching for some images for an avater. Aparently there was a march of Imperials through Cologn at some point. I think (and hope) it was a promotional stunt for a German pay-tv channel, who was airing all of the original movies on TV. Most of the costumes are pretty good looking, though there is one blue-skinned imposter amidst the white armor. No, it's not me. http://groups.msn.com/_Secure/0SgAAAH0Wak4dIAS9p603k0Yj54j4cg7h*XgXK763bjjlXP0Ax9BMJObPM9h8xg7UEF7s*O4PiA3flhUkBr5KJoIrGOiL7SpkqJIMpdtiE8b35jmFEorReQ/marsch01.JPG There seems to be a jedi in the right hand corner of this pic, but I'm not sure why the Imperials are tolerating him. Some of the stormtroopers are a little tall, and I think that the scout trooper on the left is too tall as well. I peronally llike the snowtrooper in the front. http://groups.msn.com/_Secure/0SgDVAoMW8E8dIAS9p603k!C6tNcmIyA0H!Uy*flQknocMr9VQj2ntk9ThzaQNjYO8uujAGHb*0QILMPkjDcWWo5FYf2GIZAHLmiY3r5*w6LKpR19m7Usew/marsch07.JPG You can clearly see the Thrawn imposter here. I'm not impressed with his costume. Very unprofessional . I think I see a royal guard in the right of the picture, though I don't see him in any of the others. http://groups.msn.com/_Secure/0SgDhAoAWLU8dIAS9p603k!vnTdjYeLWRzyg1xFnP13cQz8LBqoaG9cgvmt69OWTZsfyaULNYuxXg!0ELqiKLRvf2ghTLzjv!YvJgBKrNPV2f7lFAU2yrDw/marsch04.JPG They seemed to have a pretty good mix of troopers in thier group. I think the blasters they are holding are a little small, not the E-11s that for sure, but they are most impressive. Well, the officer in the front isn't. He's a general, but wearing a TIE pilot's uniform. *Tsk Tsk*. I think the most impressive thing of all is the 4 meter AT-AT in the background. If any of you were there, let me know if or when htis is on again. I need to kick my geekieness up a notch or two! Sorry about the imagy heavyness, but you just had to see it. There is more explainations about it, and a few more pics here: http://www.e-v-e-n-t-h-o-r-i-z-o-n.com/funny_invasion.php
  10. I think to most people the plot will be surprising, since most don;t read the spoilers. There will be somethings we can expect though. I just hope GL doesn't ruin more of the well-entrenched information that readers have been getting from the novels. It would really suck if he decides that Sidious and Palpatine are two different people, or that Vader is an Anakin clone.
  11. Well done. I found the information on the Imperial Starfighters most interesting. So the TIE Defender was not mass produced because of a blind spot? I'd think that most SW fighters would have a huge blind spot, especially and TIE models. The solar pannels would greatly restrict sight lines, no matter what model you were flying.
  12. Well, they could technically replaced figherts with capitol ships that had more anti-fighter power. You could easily have fit the firepower of a Lancer Frigate onto an ISD. Also, shielding didn't really advance that much. If they had developed a style of shielding that was more efficient and powerful, they wouldn't have had the problems they did. Fightres could have been restricted to planetary defence or special operations.
  13. I must admit, I'm not impressed with the title. Rise of the Empire or even Rise of the Sith would suit me better. I do likethe way they made the logo look like RotJ's though.
  14. True, there are some things that must happen, but of those that were not in the original movies (such as the relationship between Dooku and Anakin), they may just be rouses.
  15. That's true. If only the Empire had built more TIE Defenders, or even the advanced models, they probably would have wone through attrition.
  16. No problem. The other links probably don't work because of file shifting or some-such on the site.
  17. So this link doesn't work? Here:http://warlords.swrebellion.com/download/WARLORDSV0.29.exe
  18. It is well done, though I hope for his sake that the spoilers we've seen so-far arent created to throw us off the trail of the actualy plot and what-not.
  19. I agree that the spam was out of hand here recently and I aslo admit that I was at, or near, the epicentre. It will be good to have some Spam Guardians to defend us from its tyranny. If only there had been such a moderator when this all happened...
  20. That's assuming that the Republic pilots are better trained. WHile in most scenarios that would be the case, the elite Imperial Squadrons would be on par with, if not superior to, Rogue Squadron.
  21. You'll have to click the link on the site browser on the left, that link works. Not sure why the main page link doesn't.
  22. Hah, they are called Green squadron for a reason. They are all new recruits! My turbolasers will scour them from the night sky... after I get some ice cream
  23. He'll just find more reasons to spamm now that he at 2000. I just hope our antics don't make it into the next issue of PC Gamer should they keep looking at Evil's MOD.
  24. Yes... sleep. You will awake to the destruction of the Alliance, and the end of your pittiful Rebellion. Oh, I'm afraid the Empire will be quite operations when you arise.
  25. ESP? I think you mean SPAM .
