In the end it come down to what type of game you want. Some people like the gameplay of R6, but hate the realism. That's one of the big problems with gamers today, if it's too easy to die, it's not worth playing (though all of the R6 and rip-off games have been successful). I'll play the game, but I won't buy it. Maybe I'll spend the $5 to rent it.

How about we just ban American politics, Religion, and Rank Insignias? I don't think we could get into a heated debate over Australian politics (no offence to you Ausies out there)

I don't think the Wild karrde could be in AOTC. Karrde was still in the employ of his predessesor at the time. It was probably just a standard model of the ship.

Just as an update to any of you who have visited the official site, there is actually a unit mising from the Imperial section. Every side gets a unique unit that is not the same as any other for the other factions. The Empire gets Dark Troopers . I'm still trying to figure out where the Imperial Officers that I've seen in screenshots come into the game. Most people tend to go against the old addage, and judge a book by its cover. That's why cover art has been steadily improving over the years. Unless I know I liek the author, I tend to avoid books that have a boring cover.

Actually, just pick a topic you know is touchy (not like abortion or religion, because those can be considdred too touchy), present your case, and there's bound to be some one who takes up the opposing side. Just be sure to be clear in your arguments, and try not to offend anyone.

If memory serves me right, the Card Guild did indeed evolve into SWR.com, though, as the_mask stated, it was at a different address. It was at a geocities address or some such. Actually, for the life of me, I can't remember who the webmasters of the Card Guild were. As a matter of fact, other than Evaders, JediIgor, Stratus, and Conway (as well as my apprentice, who's name again escapes me) I can't remember who any of the community members were. Must be getting old .

There was some pretty interesting RPing going on back then. JI and I were the main characters, and we both had force powers (we were just starting to experiment at the time). We didn't get very far with it, though. I went away on holidays, and the forum was switched over. There was also a big problem with spamming, mostly between JI and I, since we were on almost all the time over the summer . And since we were the only two active moderators, there wasn't any one (except Evaders that is) to stop us. I think the best time to be in the community, other than right now that is, as back when I first came in. Rev's page was the only one around, and there were actually new versions of RebEd comming out. We had to e-mail our cards to him to get them posted. It wasn't long after that the RebEd Card Guild was formed. It was around for quite a while, and had quite the collection of cards for such a small site. There was a slump in members after Rev left, but it didn't last long.

Hey Kracken, are you using a 6800 for a video card? Your laser effects have the nice glow to them that is attributed to that card. No more screens yet. Haven't had time to play. EDIT:Krytos, what map(s) were your screens taken on. The planet is very nice.

Of all the smuggler ships, the Wilde Karrde is by far my favourite. It's not really big, but it'ms more than the Falcon. And yes, Bookster did paint his ISD red. Quite a feat if Ido say so myself. I wonder how many gallons it took to cover all 1.6 Km of it, on boath sides, top to bottom.

I admit that LA has been doing better on thier games as of late. I hope they keep it up.

I just thought I should bring this back to the top since the game comes out next week. In addition, I've got some more info. First, in the latest Insider they report that the AT-AT will be player controlled. Also, LA has videos of the maps up on the Battlefront website. If you watch the video for Tatooine you'll se an ISD floating in the atmosphere. Dare I hope it's player controlled?

Moldy Crow was the name of Katarn's ship in Dark Forces and Jedi Knight. They upgraded to the Raven's Claw in Jedi KNight II.

I'm wondering if the Force really has a "will" of sorts. I know it's been said many times that it does, but perhaps its will is presented to Jedi more like a suggestion. The force can't revoke it's power from people who don't do it's bidding. Maybe the next series of books will expand on our knowledge of the Force.

Yes, that is the problem. AMD has become the only competition for Intel, and since thier processors are getting better than Intel's they tend to charge more. Could be worse, though. We could have only Intel to deal with

Actually, you should have invested in an AMD rather than a Pentium My 2800 runs the game fine, and that's with shadows and all, at 1280x960. RAM also has a lot to do with it. A gig of PC3200 runs it quite well.

There are some people who read books from a particular gender simply because they feel that a female/male writer portrays characters that they themselves can relate to. I personally enjoyed the Star Wars novels written by men far more than those written by women. It's all in the way they are worded and presented. That's not to say I won't read books by women, butto date I've not enjoyed such books to the same degree as those authored by men.

I've never watched the CLone Wars shorts, sho otherthan the animated pic in the database, I've got no clue what he'll look like (I don't have QT so I can't watch the video). I've got a feeling that a large part of the Seperatists will simpy be merged into the Empire. I've aslo got a fear that lucas will not acutally show a great deal of the Empire, but rather will end the movie like AotC.
