Well, I enjoyed the book for the most part, though I must admit that, compared to the writings of some other, fantasy authors I read, it wasn't that complex, original. or difficult to read. There certainly were some enlightening tidbits of information in it, if they are true, but I wouldn't say it had a profound impact on my life .

Well, I'm having a bit of trouble with my homework tonight, and since there seems to be plenty of German speaking forum members, I thought this would be a good place to get some help (sure, I could have called my professer, but this is easier). Ok, there are two questions, the first I am stumped on, the second I simply want verification as to whether or not it is right. In the first question I am given two incomplete sentences (the first of the four below), into which I need to place the appropriate verb I managed to get the second sentence I think, but I'm stumped as to the first. Hopefully this will make sence when you see the question. The verbs at the bottom are those I have to choose from: 1. >heute die Sonne? >__________________________________- heiβe / kommt / kommst / ist / scheint / sind / zeigt / geht / bin / regent In the second question, I was given the answer to a question and had to formulate the question itself from the bold and underlined verb (sort of like Jeopardy). Just let me know if this is right: 2. Answer: Michaels Zimmer ist sehr groβ. Question created by me: Wie groβ ist Micheals Zimmer? While I am enjoying the class, it is a real pain in the butt to learn all of the verb endings for specific pronouns, the gender of a noun (definitely a new thing to me. I only took French in highschool for one year), sentence structure. Hopefully I'll get the hang of it. Anyhow, any help with the above would be appreciated.

I experience that from time to time, but since I haven't played in a bit (well, a few weeks anyhow) I'm not sure why. Microsoft sort of released the game and then forgot about it.

While I'm a non-believer, I agree with Scath. You could just be proving that god is indifferent to idiots wearing metal on a hill in a lightning storm. That, and you'd probably only get a degree in theology or philosophy. Physicists don't really care about God.

Is this the same TheForce.net that gave us the spoiler list of changes for the DVD release of the original trilogy? -
Episode III Trailer Description
Grand_Admiral_Thrawn replied to Trejiuvanat's topic in General Discussion
There isn't a trailer out there yet, most of this stuff is on TFN.net. It'll be another month or so before a trailer is released in the theaters. -
Well, it's only a small start, but one of the guys over at swbattlefront.net has created a small mod that allows users to play as the allied factions from the game. That means that you can have a whole battle where you and your friends duke it out agains the Empire as Ewoks! Ok, not really playable, but it's fun as hell. It also allows you to play as the Wookies and the Naboo Royal Guard from the single player campeign. It's quite entertaining.

Well, if they attack me I doubt I'll have a hard time fending them off. Scipii is tangled in a mess in Africa, and Brutii seems content to squabble with the Greek Cities. Other than the fact that one of my Generals is "Supposedly Loyal", and another is insane and likes to drink, Maybe I'll take the peninsula tonight .

Browsing this site with an Apple Mac!

Well, I'd love to smash my old computer. My first computer was a Compaq, and it damn near turned me off of PC gaming! Boyd I'd love to smash that thing... -
The primary differences between the DVD and the Special Edition is in the picture and sound quality. The picture is much smoother and crisp. I was a little dissapointed when I went into the theater, after paying $10, only to find out that the image quality was as fuzzy as ever. This release wasn't so much about changes as improving the experience and bringning the movies to a new format. Also, the stormtroopers all got to keep their origninal voives, thankfuly. I'm still pissed about Fett, but what can you do? There is still one "glitch" I wish Lucas had fixed. At times in ANH Luke's lighsaber looks green, and others blue. Maybe it's just me?

Interesting. I might make a go of it after I have completed my game. I'm playing as the Julii and have eliminated the Gauls and Britans. I've got quite a large army, but I'm experiencing a shortage of commadners and Governors at the moment. I had plans to attack Scipii when I saw the Egyptians giving them a hard time, but I don't know if I can take on Brutii too. I think I'll consolodate my forces for now.

Do you have a job? I find that that tends to make buying things much easier . Just bought Rome today. Currently installing it. If I go missing for a month or so, don't worry, I'll find my way back .

Most Powerful Character in the Game!
Grand_Admiral_Thrawn replied to SymbuCanon's topic in Gaming Stories
If you think Jedi Lando is good, try Thrawn . I know I may be a little bias, but on one, and only one, occasion I had THrawn as a Jedi. I get him up to Jedi Master and suddently his Diplomacy is 300+, his Espionage is 150+, Combat 200+, and his Leadership is almost 400! Now, if you go into RebEd you see that his chances of becoming a Jedi are 0%, yet without modifying the game, he was discovered to be one. Perhaps the values aren't as absolute as they seem... Jedi Lando, eh... I'll have to play as the rebels more often then... -
It is also possible thatthose characters were traitors at one point in the game. If there is any point in the game where you are doing poorley, their loyalty will drop. I'm not so sure that you can gain that back, so that may be why they are detecting traitors. I always found that traitors didn't add that much to the game, so I just make every character 100% loyal and check the "Won't Betray their Side" box.

Well, it seems that Battlefront is doing better than expected in at least one area of the European market. All stores in the UK have sold out and it will be three weeks before more stock will arrive. This is a surprise since apparently Star Wars games don't sell very well in the UK . I'm now wondering how sales are in the rest of the world...

Francs? So which countries, other than Great Britain, didn't switch over to the Euro? There is three of them, isn't there?

Well, any one who wants an invite just pm me with your current e-mail. You'll get an e-mail [message] shortly after I send the invite. Just follow the instructions. Mad, when you get a Gmail account it's a whole new account, you have to create a new address adn everything. So, for example, your e-mail could be "Mad78@gmail.com". The biggest feature of Gmail is that you get a gig of storage, so if you want to have a friends e-mail you a big file (like, a few hundred MP3 files that are about 500 Meg in size), you can. That, and you don't have to delete your messages . That must be because you use your e-mail so much , because I now only have five invites. I think 6 is the max, but the more you use it you can earn more. EDIT:Cain, I just sent an invite to your Yahoo! e-mail, so I'm hoping it's not a fake address . I also just noticed that it included my name (real name that is) on the last two invites I sent. Not that I care about people knowing my name, but they spelled it wrong! Just goes to show how much my friends know.
-
Well, I don't know if any one else here has a Gmail account, or if you'd care to have one, but I've got six invites left that I have no one to give to. So, if you want an invite to Gmail, just post here and I'll PM you with what I'll need (just your current e-mail really). I'm not advertising, but Gmail does give you a Ghz of storage space, so if you get a lot of e-mails, or files or what have you, it might be worth it.

How did that double post happen? I was here not thirty seconds ago and there was only one post, now there are two? I thought that the time limit between posts would eliminate such a thing from happening... Also, has any one noticed the short answer some people have been giving, often stating the obvious (not aimed at you Canno, just in general). I though the spam thing was agreed upon twenty or so threads ago...

I think Paul has been around long enough that he should be given the title Grand Moff.

My question is when were the proton torpedoes created? If they were created before the rebellion, during the Republic, the shielding of those ships was not as strong as those used during the time of the Empire, and so the use of proton torpedoes as anti-capitol ship weapons is feasible. However, if they were created during the republic, they would not be as effective agains the capitol ships of the Galactic Civil War, which would explain why we most commonly see them being used against fighters in the EU, and rarely as the primary means of destroying a capitol ship. This is all speculation, but I feel it makes sence since the heavy rocket was developed which, from my experience, does significantly more damage than a proton torpedo. I also don't feel that my assessment of the Alliance fighters beeing too stron is off the mark. From what we see in the movies they can't do much damage to capitol ships. Also, the X-Wing wasn't developed by the Rebels, nor was it around when the Rebellion began. It was taken to the Rebels by Incom when they defected to the rebels, so there was no thought placed into it fighting capitol ships,

I think that the fighters are the way they are for balance. A squadron of bombers does noticable damage while fighters do little or no damage simply because the designers felt that fgithers weren't meant to be used agains capitol ships. Compared to the novels, however, they are extreemely underpowered. That said, I think that in the novels they make the fighters too strong. Proton torpedos weren't meant to be used against capitol ships, and therefor are not as strong. Capitol ship shields are stronger (that is, they can take more damage per percent than fighter shields), so much so that only heavy weapons, which can only be loaded into fighters in small quantities, can damage them. The damage a torpedo does vs. that of a space bomb or rocket should be minimal, if anything. I'm not saying 150 torps shouldn't do any damage, but if you consider what they were developed for, they should only reduce an ISD's shields to about 80%. Just my view.
