  1. Well, I really had to look for a post from him, but I found one. It's really cool Mad. Now we just need to get the forces of Spam together!.
  2. Thx. I took your advice to Scath in the Animated Gif thread and cut out every third frame. There are still over 100 frames, and the gif is still 900k in size, but once it load through the first time, it's no biggie.
  3. Well, if I can get the game to stop dropping out, I'll post some screens today.
  4. Well, I would reccomend taking anything better than a 9800, but the 9800s are still a very good video card. As with everything else, it depends on whether or not you want to be "future proof" and spend more money, or go for what's good right now. The 6800 and X800 (X700 and X600 too) are all next-generation video cards, so they'll be sufficient for the next two or so years. The 9800 (XT, Pro, or SE) are going to be pushed to their limits in the future. So, in the end, it all depends on how much you want to spend for performance.
  5. This has to be some sort of record! Only six posts and Scath has struck with his grammar check! Maybe he just hasn't upgraded yet. What version are you at Scath?
  6. It was actually pretty cheap, only $399 CDN. Im still a little worried that the NVidia tab under the advanced display settings doesn't have a section to set OpenGL settings, but I'm not having any problems.
  7. I works very well! I've been playing most of my games with 6x AA and I get no lag. The only problem is that one of the games that was freezing my computer, is still freezing, but it's just the game, not the computer. I've already sent a support e-mail to the developer, so I hope to have the problem fixed... especially since I', paying monthley for it! Alas, I have not been able to play a game of Warlords with it since it always dropps out on me... hopefully Eville will somewhat fix that with the next release. Battlefront rons fantastic. 1600 x 1200 with full AA and AF!
  8. I've got the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (128, not the 256). I just updated to CATALYST 4.10, which was just released. I tried the Omega drivers, but wasn't impressed with the performance, so I switched back. Some of the Omega features are still installed, including some of the Open GL aspects of the drivers. I also uninstaledl the SMARTGART as some people say that can cause problems. As yet I have had no reocurrences of hte problem *knocks on wood*, so hopefully the problem is fixed. EDIT:It would seems I spoke too soon. I was playing for a while and then BANG, it froze. What exactley is the difference between 3D and Open GL? EDIT II:Well, I took the easy way out and got another video card (that is, I returned my 9800 Pro and used the credit towards another card). It seems my system doesn't like ATI Cards for whatever reason, so I upgraded to an NVidia 6800 for $60. Everything works fine now. Maybe ATI's drivers aren't as compatible with OpenGL as NVidias?
  9. I could reduce it, but the problem is that the colour quality is sacrificed. It started out as a 21 meg gif, so I think I've done quite well . The reason it's so big is that I recorded an avi of part of ESB, opened it in Animation Shop, cropped it, cut some frames out, optimized it, and the result is what I have now.Rather, what I would have now if the bloody thing would work.
  10. Well I think I've discovered the problem with my video card. Apparentley I need to download separate drivers for Open GL. The problem is, the only company that I can find that has them, glsetup.com, doesn't seem to be up, and all links to their drivers lead to their site. Does any one know where I can get GL Setup?
  11. Thats probably because, in a blind rage, I deleted the file from my MSN Group:oops:. Now when I try to upload it again, it either tells me I've exceeded my alloted space (a load of crap as I only have a 30kb file there, the gif is 1.46 meg, and I get 3 meg of space), or simpley loads the first frame, tells me that it's taking up the full 1.46 meg, but tells be the file is only 5k in size.
  12. Well, this is sort of on topic. Can any one tell me why my new sig isn't working. It's suppose to be an animated gif, but it's only showing the first frame, and I think my MSN group cut it down to that one frame too. It was a little bit... ok really big for a .gif, it was 1.46 meg, but that still doesn't answer my question. So? Anyone?
  13. There is nothing more satisfying than rendering he Rebellion even more inept by killing off all of their leaders, and capturing all of thier main characters. I might just have to start up another game...
  14. It was something else that I had meant, bu I don't think most people would know about unless they've lived here.
  15. Lol, no, in my opinion the people in Newfoundland don't even speak English. Here in Ontario there is actually a variance in accents. The farther north you go the more prominent the accent seems to be. There is also an accent for the "prairie folk" in the middle provinces.. Even those in Quebec have to be different. Their version of French is very different from that spoken in Europe.
  16. This was already mentioned in the Battlefront forum. It is fun, though.
  17. I thought that LEC would have released it shortley after the game. They haven't said anything about it, but I'm sure it will be some time soon.
  18. Well here is the flash animation. I imagine someting similar will happen to me shortley since I still have the song stuck in my head. Just as long as no one throws a T.V. remote at me.
  19. Well, although I liked the originals, I got sick of having to blow into the games, as well as the system, to get it cleared out of dust and what not. Well, that, or stare at a flashing pink and yellow screen....
  20. But can you tell where a Canadian comes from by his accent? It's actually quite odd. People from Ottawa (three hours north of where I live) have a strange accent, as well as some odd phrases in their vocabulary.
  21. I'll actually have to watch the DVDs all the way through. I always get interrupted while I'm watching them. If anyone wants to see the Boba Fett scenes with all of the digital rendering and what not, just watch the extended version of "Empire of Dreams". For some reason they included the original boice in it.
  22. I'd thought that the accents in Östereich would be easier to understand. I always thought they were closer to Deutchland than Sweiss. See how I did that. I tied my German into my English... now I have to hope I spelled everything right. I was suppose to take a trip with my family to Austria, but it never panned out. Too bad, I've always wanted to go to that area of Europe (but avoid France. No offence any French people).
  23. I've got the same problem, though I also find myself singing it all day long. There is another flash animation that sort of relates to that, but it has some rather foul language, so I won't post it here.
  24. Thanks for the help . My biggest limitation is that right now, after a month of learning, we're probably at the equivilant of grade 4. And to think I took this willingly .
  25. Well, it's really more of a flash cartoon, but I can't get the song out of my head! http://www.filmbuffs.net/bananana/
