  1. There is also the matter of variance in voice. Sure, all stormtroopers sound alike at first, but if you really listen, they each have distinct voices. While no EU-based games have been given license to show stormtrooper faces, Zahn's last book did (sort of).
  2. I've noticed that in the shots we see of Mace fighting his opponent is using a red lightsaber. If Anakin is suppose to kill him, why is it not a blue lightsaber? Is it possible that we'll se some more Vader action in this film (not likely since most information says there is only about five minutes of Vader), or is it hte Emperor? I have the feeling that this movie will not be what we ar expecting. That is, I think GL will throw us a lot of curve balls, keeping the origin of Vader, but twisting the rest of the plot in ways we aren't expecting. I'm inclined to agree with Igor about the beginning of the Rebellion. I'm sure that the developers at LucasArts are privy to a lot of information we aren't (especially since they've been working on th Episode III game for some time now), so I'm sure there are a lot of hints in there somewhere. We can probably expect to see some more combat on Tatooine, as well as Cloud City in Episode III. That, or the LA guys are off their rockers.
  3. When I looked at the chart that SOCL linked to I got the impression taht the rank insignia Paul has now was for a regular fleet rank, such as Fleet Admiral, and that the insignia for Tarkin was the only Grand Moff insignia there is. Am I wrong in that
  4. So Paul wanted this: http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/6355/SWGallery/tarkin.jpg and got this: http://www.swrebellion.com/modules/Forums/images/ranks/grandmoffdef.gif I'm confused .
  5. You can't be talking about the 1.1 patch, because I know for a fact that the Droids have rockets (and I'm pretty sure they did in the 1.01 patch). I don't know what servers you play on, but whenever I play online on a Clone Wars map, almost noone plays as the Jet Troopers. They all play as the regular clone troopers. Have you bought the game yet, or are you stil using the downloaded copy you said you'd use to try the game in the event it wasn't worth playing?
  6. Well, that was unexpected.
  7. Ok, maybe it's just me, but, where the bloody hell do you vote!? I can't find it.
  8. Well, that's not exactly the same thing. When they shot that scene, him falling off his bike was it. In the Wizard of Oz they would have just kept skipping along while he was hanging himself. Also, in Ben Hur(sp?) there was the rumor that a stuntman died in the chariot race. While one was injured, it was in the filming of the original Ben Hur that a stuntman was killed. People just mixed the stories.
  9. Well, since I'm not a Hyperspace member I just watched the tailer today and honestly, there are no words to describe it. A space battle above Coruscant, Anakin looking very emperor-like with his yellow eyes (only in one scene), and the Emperor kicking but! But will it be the Emperor or Vader who kills Mace? I got the impression it was the Emperor, and also he who forces Yoda into hiding. Did any one else notice that the Emperor looked a little, erm, odd? He sort of reminded me of the Twi'lek Dark Jedi from Jedi Knight. That, and why did he look like the Episode VI Emperor while Palpatine looked normal? Maybe Palpy was a puppet who's identity was taken by a Sith Master, becoming Emperor Palpatine? I think I'll watch it again.
  10. Yup, that's the movie with the flying monkeys, and frankley I can't blame you for finding it a tad bit scary. As for the man who hanged himself, it's a myth. It was a bird that was flying around in the background. Really, do you think someone could hang themselves and the crew wouldnt' do anything about it?
  11. Yup, it's pretty much the only music I listen to. Well, I listen to soundtracks for movies that are orchestral. People tend to think that because something is done with an orchestra it is classical. It's not really. Mozart is Romantic, Beethoven was Classical, Vivaldi was Renaissance, as was Bach. Blast modern media and their simplification! I've also bee known to listen to Opera, but my tastes in that are very restricted. I like the Three Tennors, but not many else. Oh, and I also like Micheal Buble, who does Senatra-like music. None of that is on topic thought so: I listen to the above on the radio. Few, wouldn't want to be responsible for getting us off topic .
  12. Wow, Red Dwarf; that brings back memories. We don't really get to see that many British TV shows over here since all we get (unless you have satelite) is the BBC, which seems to be mostly news. We also don't get Stargate Atlantis, but sicne my dad has satelite I've watched a few episodes. It's better than the original, but one thing miffed me a bit: why is the Canadain the bumbling idiot!? I must also admit that I am addicted to the OC... can't remember if I mentioned this earlier, but I'll bring it up again if so. There is something about it I can't describe. I usually hate the soap-opera type shows, but this one is different.
  13. I'm partial to the German/Austrian composers, as well as some of the Neo-Classical (Classical music written in the 20th century) composers, such as Vaugn Williams. You can listen to my station here.
  14. Wow, I didn't know there were so many different radio shows still out there. Since I only listen to one (two if I can't get a signal from the first) radio station, which is all music, I don't really listen to "shows". The closest thing is segments which focus on different styles of classical music.
  15. From what I understood from the chart SOCL linked to, the last two Moff insignia you provided are not for Grand Moffs, but for regular fleet officers. The third colomn contains the insignia for ranks relating to commands such as those of Grand Moffs
  16. The bottom two are for Grand Moffs? I thought that six red and six blue were Fleet Admiral (Piett and Ozzel)?
  17. Well, for two of those some (not me) would argue that they were despots, and not very honouralbe to be named after... though Djengiz and Atilla have gotten abad rap over the years because the victors write the history books.
  18. It would actually be quite an honour to be named after a great person in history. I personally like the names Isacc (Brock, Sir), Horatio (Nelson, which would be a middle name), Arthur (Wellesley, Duke of Wellington) and Phineas (Rial). I also like the middle name Hazard, strage as it is (after Oliver Hazard Perry, American Commodore on Lake Erie).
  19. I've only played one or two games as the Rebellion, but both times I've traded Ackbar for Thrawn. Never liked him any how... no offence Fishy .
  20. The rebels have a surprising number of followers, despite the lack of "coolness" with their uniforms. As a matter of fact, most of my friends prefer the rebels. Of course, most of them have morals, a trait I am lacking .
  21. Yes, there are pleanty of people, however there is another problem. Almost all of the existing servers have a really high ping, and those that don't are locked private servers. On top of that, if you do manage to find a server that isn't full but is still populated enough to play, all of the hard-core players are there. You know, the kind you get when you'd try and play Counter-Strike during the day? On top of that, there is a serious spawn-camping problem that has to be dealt with. Because some maps only give vehicles (tanks) to one side, that side will camp all the spawns in tanks, which are damn near impervious. Well, that and the power difference between tanks like the Republic tank and the Droid tank. The latter must have two people in it, so even if you manage to jump in, the rest of your team will be killed before they can make it to you. Well, now that I've turned a bunch of people off the game, there is some hope. LucasArts has been working on the first major patch for the game, and are hoping to have it out some time this week. You can look for things such as adjustable tickets, bug-fixes and balancing, temp invulnerability for spawning, improved Multiplayer browser interface, and hopefuly some new maps. EDIT: Ok, so that will teach me to post here before I check my sources. It seems that hte 1.1 patch has been released today. I haven't read the list of changes (I just looked not five second ago), so you'll have to check for your self. go to SW Battlefront to get the patch and the details on changes. It's also a good site to keep bookmarked since they are essentially the whole of the battlefront community.
  22. Alright, I know that every one here is a huge fan of Star Wars, but is it possible to take it too far? Sure, there are those who dress-up as stormtropers and Imperial officers and parade about, but that's nothing, people do it with real wars, so that's alright. Then there are those who spend loads of money on collectables, but that too is not uncomon. So I ask you, how far would you go with your obsession? Would you have your wedding party dress up as Twi'lek dancing girls and Weequay guards, or drive little Lando to school? This came to mind as I was playing City of Heroes (an MMORPG). Some one had started a Star Wars supergroup (clan). I thought that, in a game based on super heroes, that was a littlbe obsessive... well, before I joined up that is . I certainly wouldn't name my children after fictional heroes and villains, nor have my wedding Star Wars themed, but I must admit, looking more closley at some of the things I would do, it seems obsurd in retrospect.
  23. I have to agree with Trej. There are no hidden faces in there. I just think that you guys spent too much time looking at clouds as children. There is only one "hidden" face in there, and it's intended to be obvoius. The Vader face in Anakin's cloak. The other "faces" that people say the can see are a result of the details of that vader image, which I believe is the same image used on the VHS box for the remastered version of hte origninal trilogy (the one between the original movies and the Special Edition). I suppose the face Scath is seeing can't be explained away by this, but I still don't see it there.
  24. The video card was $500 and the motherboard was $115. I wouldn't recomend the KT6-V MB that I have. It's nice that there is on-board LAN and sound, but it is rather finickey with things like video cards (doesn't like ATI cards) and BIOS settings.
  25. The box on the left is my graphics card, the box on the right is my motherboard. I have done a little bit tweeking on my machine, htough I haven't built up the courage to over-clock it. Well, that and I have no idea how to do it.
