I think it a little unfortunate that Americans have such a big influence on the rest of the world, because they must (or should) consider the ramifications of their vote on therest of the world. I know, who the hell are we to tell them what to do in their own country, but when the effect is so great on the rest of hte world, they must be responsible for the effects. That said, I think Americans must be aware that if they vote for George Bush, you're not really voting for him, but for Dick, Donald, Condolesa (sp?), and all the rest of them. Bush is not the smartest man (no offence to him. From what I can tell, he's a nice guy), and from what I have seen he is being controled by those who are supposedly subordinate to him. He has done some good things in his term in office, but there are too many unanswered questions and blacked-out documents for my liking.

I have had a change of heart. I will not destroy you planet, but rather enslave it to do my bidding. Wait, that's not what we were talking about, was it? Right, the computer. I've also had a change of heart about that. I think I'll have to dind a balance between re-enactment and computing, for sanity's sake. Who needs a $1200 officer's coatee when I can have some one make if for $400? Yes, I think ,y computing machine will remain with me, if only to fight along side my fellow spammers whenever I want.

Congrats Mad, I hadn't even noticed that you'd spammed.... erm, posted so many times .

Is that in USD? It would also cost you more because there is shipping involved with mine. I think it's $100 just for shipping within the US and Canada. Then again, my computer is a beast... I'm almost hoping it doesn't sell. After two days without it (I have it disconnected, and I gave my sister my 21" monitor [which I'll be wanting back if it doesn't sell]), I've got the urge to play something. http://i6.ebayimg.com/02/i/02/bf/ed/b0_1_b.JPG

Hmmm, it might be a good thing that Texas_Fett can't get on here all of the time, else this topic would become quite heated with is knowledge of politics Maybe he'll find some time to drop by and carpet bomb us all into G.W. submission

Well, I already have a job, so that's not really of much assistance right now . As it is, if it does not sell within the week, I'm not going to make repeated attempts to do so. I'll just slug it out with my reenactment. The SPAM Corps will still live on since I would still have acces to a decent computer, so no worries there. Right now I have the computer listed at $1250 CDN, so it's around $900 USD. Really it's not that expensive, but I doubt it will sell since there are a lot of other systems on e-bay as well. Some of them are listing their specs at AMD 4000+ processors, but to the best of my knowledge they haven't been released yet, but I could be wrong.

Well, as I am getting more and more serious about my re-enacting, I have decided that I need to choose between by two hobbies: computer gaming, and re-enactment. I enjoy the latter more, so I have decided to sell my monster of a computer and use the funds to support my history habbit. Fortunately I'll still have acces to the internet via my mother's computer, but I'll be reduced to playing only Rebellion, unless I'm visiting my dad, at which time I can play pretty much anything. Hopefully it will sell quickley, but who knows, there are a lot of other computers on there.

Well, Kazaa is either slow or down-right off-line now, so you may want to look for alternate ways of acquiring the game.

A program has been released that allows users to extract the skins/textures for Battlefront and converts them into .dds files, which I guess are more managable for editing. Once you get the skin/texture the way you want it, the program will convert it back into the format Battlefront uses, and away you go! The news can be found here.

Go with whichever one is cheaper. The difference in performance isn't substantial enough to make a real difference.

Well, [sPAM] is up and running, somewhat. It's pretty much just those of us that play online. There isn't a server yet, and we don't really play together. That's mostley because there are only two members (Dark and I) who have the game. I've actually been avoiding online play for now. While the game is fantastic, there are some balancing and leveling issues that need to be dealt with. I am most displeased with their apparent lack of progress on new patch. I have a fealing that the game is going to die as a result of LucasArt's tendancy to put a game out, and then release on update a year, not being too concerned that there is a crap load of problems. I hate to say it, but despite the great game, we may very well see Battlefront go the way of Battlefield Vietnam. Thankyou Corperate America!

Kingston or Corsair are known as good brands. I have the latter and am quite satisfied with it.

I only have 128,as any reviews of video cards that I have read state that the extra 128 of RAM doesn't increase performance, and in some cases lower it a little. I wouldn't reccomend getting a video card with 256 of RAM.
-
I'll assume you mean on my system. I have 1 GhZ of PC3200 DDR memory. I can't recall the brand( which has a big effect on performance).

There is one member of that Swiss regiment who looks creapily like a WWII German Lieutenant. If you want to have one word as a link type "whatever word(s) you want the link to be". Makes posts look much nicer . The sword I bough came to about $320 thanks to the 15% tax here in Ontario. Quite worth it. I'll take some pictures at my next event and post them. EDIT:Mad, you have to find out where they are holding their events (the Swiss regiment), and give that Thrawn imposter the what-for! His uniform is terrible. It's far too big. Looks like he was overweight and lost a few pounds without getting a new uniform!

Original Trilogy DVD Changes (spoilers)
Grand_Admiral_Thrawn replied to SOCL's topic in General Discussion
It's more than half way through the documentary, just as they are talking about the new characters introduced in ESB. I think it's some time after they introduce Lando. I'll see if I can find it and record that part. -
It's an official patch released by Activision. I haven't noticed any big differences, though I usually don't.

Wow, looks like fun! Did you have to supply your own armor, or do they do that? Are there mock battles? Andy why do we never see your face? It's always convenientley hidden . I think I'll stick to my 1812, as much fun as Rome looks. I like the pomp of being an officer .

Sorry for the double post folks, but I didn't want to add these in an edit. Well they're nothing special, but the battle I had today was more long-range than anything, so it didn't lend itself to screenshots very well. I also learned why I restrict the ship size to cruisers. The AI built two Executors . I managed to destroy the first one, but the second got me good. http://img35.exs.cx/img35/1827/ss00000.jpg http://img35.exs.cx/img35/457/ss00003.jpg http://img35.exs.cx/img35/1572/ss00004.jpg http://img22.exs.cx/img22/1201/ss00005.jpg http://img22.exs.cx/img22/3572/ss00006.jpg http://img22.exs.cx/img22/7828/ss00007.jpg http://img22.exs.cx/img22/4229/ss00008.jpg http://img22.exs.cx/img22/7886/ss00010.jpg http://img22.exs.cx/img22/2240/ss32.jpg Hopefully I'll do better next time. I'm just a little rusty .

I know, I was too. Just had to get a jab in there.
-
Yeah, moderators have a tendancy to do that. AA was really bad for that... where did he go anyhow? I think I can find Rebellion here (in Canada) for aroun $15 (CDN, so $9 USD).

The drivers are called ForceWare 65.73 WHQL 2000/XP. They're by NVidia, so I'm not sure why they haven't released them on their site. They work better than the ones I downloaded from nvidia.com, no more freezing in Warlords and what have you.
-
Well, I can't speak from experience since mine is just a 6800. You also have to be sure to get the most recent Microsoft supported Drivers. The drivers NVidia has on thier site right now are not supported by Microsoft, and as such were causing me grief (causing Warlords to freeze if I zoomed in). I found better drivers, from NVidia, that for some reason they didn't release on their site, that are supported by Microsoft. You have to install them the hard way (update your drivers from the hardware profiles section), but they work better. They're designed for Gf 2 and up, so basically, if you have an NVidia card, let me know and I'll post the link.

What do you have left to get? I'm assuming you still need a video card...
