  1. You could also select your fighters and rightclick one of your capital ships, that let's them build a screen around the ship. I dunno what that function is for exactly, maybe to intercept incoming projectiles, but this way I've seen less figthers shot down, than when you leave them dead in space. You could also select a nav point at the farest edge of the holocube, but sometimes the enemy fighters just go after them anyway and you lose quite a number while you try to relocate them.
  2. The picture of Dino, that I used to paint that Kill-Bill/Jedi pic is also from there
  3. Bar ? What bar ? You sure you posted in the right thread, TK ?
  4. Nope, not without the sourcecode, which LEC is somehow reluctant to give out. But I'd give it a try anyway. You can for example use Photoshop to save the palette of a picture, that already has the palette for ingame graphics, like the cards do. Then you can try the filters on your own picture and see, which one works best. Playing around with the % value in "Diffusion" can give you some unexpected results.
  5. See, Jahled was right about the fun in blowing up something Hastings, welcome back The idea is really good. Amazing that after 6 years one can still find new strategies for the game
  6. That's the rank you get for posting actively, cadet As you can see from my postcount, I've been here for a while, so my rank increased in time. I'm sure Scathane, or Evaders can show you the rank board. From what I remember you get to be Warlord at 1500 posts and you can choose your own with 2000. Welcome to the forums, enjoy your stay.
  7. That's because LaForge has hidden it
  8. This one I heard in the morning news, when I drove to work. It's actually a Jay Leno quote: "After the Superbowl President Bush called and congratulated the winner team personally. Ex-president Clinton called Janet Jackson" I almost couldn't stay on the road after hearing this
  9. Jahled draws a lightsaber from his cloak "You have insulted me for the last time, I'll milk your blood" SOCL is startled, but draws a saber himself and also something, that looks like a small dictionary... "Umm, umm ... rubber ... tree ? Ah ! How apropriate, you look like a cow !" Since these Monkey Island word-fencing duels can take some time, I wouldn't expect to see either of them soon, dudes
  10. Dunno, if the country would've been incinerated the hurricanes and tornadoes would have come much sooner and fiercer, because all of the wood would be missing SpiderVenom: why don't you build, say ... 36 probe droids, since the systems usually have about 12 planets. Unleashing them would give you recon data on three systems at a time.
  11. I also have the old backgrounds on my site, if you still want them as well. The links under the www button in this post. But as Jahled said, new ones definately look better. I'd go to some Nasa-oriented site, or something likely to get starfield backgrounds.
  12. Hehehe, once you got the model importer working you'll see, that it eats pratically everything, as I described in the readme. You can either give it an rmd file, 3 .x models (close, medium, far) and its .bin textures, an untextured, single .x file, or even the galaxy background or some fighters. I thought I'd better make it flexible, so I wouldn't have to write something else to cover these areas as well Edit: Btw, Jahled: Confucius says "if two of you travel with me, then one can be my teacher"
  13. Thanks for explaining I'd like to add, that version 2 of HomeOne and MonRemonda won't crash RebEd, at least not on my pc
  14. Ok, I can work with that description First of all, I assume, that the paths in the .ini file are set correctly as Chimera already pointed out and that you unzipped all the contents from the model importer's zip file into the folder with ResHacker. I don't know what model you tried to import, but I think it wasn't an .rmd file, so there's a chance, that one of the 3 models has another name than "close.x", maybe it's called normal.x. If you rename that file into close.x it should work.
  15. Shame on you, man. Even DarkForces had it. What did Ben Burtt call it ? The Walter, or something ? It was a name, that much I'm sure of 5 hours ? That won't fit on 2 dvds, like the first two movies. Oh jeez, 3 dvds for one movie. That means you also get a free exercise each time you watch the movie
  16. Dino, the trick is to look bored, rather than embarassed. You can always think 'my god, I hope nobody saw that', but even an innocent google search might lead you to a site with porn pics, or porn ads. So, what I wanted to say is: everyone around you already had likely stuff on their monitor and won't judge you for what appears on your screen
  17. We mean the 3 movies-series with William Hurt, Alec Newman and Uwe Ochsenknecht . I like them way better than the old movie with Sting and Jürgen Prochnow, cause this one actually sticks very close to the books and doesn't invent fancy stuff like voice enhancers and such... The second series includes the books 'Dune Messiah' and 'Children of Dune'. Having to see Muaddib blinded and then killed by a 'mere' disappointed onlooker is quite unsettling.
  18. The program creates a file called _logfile.txt, each time you run it. What does it say ? Are you sure the models put into the import directory were named close.x, medium.x and far.x ? If it's only one model the name's not important.
  19. Hope everything's still in one piece with you, SOCL. Yeah Scath, keep reminding this guy of the eager modders, that are sitting like vultures before his house, waiting for some info to hit the floor.
  20. Best of luck from me, too If you need some ideas about useful functions for the battles and such, I've already written some suggestions for JediGreg on what would be cool to have. Btw, I'd be verrrry much interested in a bit of C++ code, that would display a DirectX model and its texures in a rectangle extra window inside a larger form, if you catch my drift
  21. Nah, the magical border is 10,000 per model. Above that the game might slow down with big fleets. You did replace all three models per ship, right ? The transparent thing is being done by the engine most of the times, no way around that so far. Dunno what that with the crash before the battle is. Usually, if two or more models link to the same texture file the game crashes after the battle. Try taking a fresh tactical.dll from the CD and importing the models with my import program.
  22. Well, thanks, I guess
  23. Sorry, it ain't here, but why don't you download RebEd ? I don't remember that swre could do anything more to the game, than RebEd.
  24. Hi, check my site out : //kickme.to/woodsboro/ There is an older version of Smacker there, with the description on what every MDATA file is and there's also an updated helpfile for RebEd there. Welcome to the forum
  25. Elvis, did you try out switching off the light afterwards in your room ? Did you glow then, or weren't you that close to the machine ?
