I will be unavailable from 8pm-10pm EST since there is a 2hr special event of 24 - elisha cuthbert returns this week! SW33T! And the body count doubles... again.
  2. I have enough fun flaming responses to create my own threads /chalks up one more on the post count... and sizes up bob
  3. Excellent bob... I knew there was a reason you had not been banned from this site yet!
  4. I love this game - do you have the clone campaigns expansion? I want to play online again sometime.
  5. Ah... Troops! Loads up Sith Boys theme song Saw that one years ago... classic! .... and the Holiday Special... will you please lose it again and leave it lost!
  6. I think Georgy should have added a digital Triumph: The Insult Comic Dog and marketed it as the "Spaceballs: Part Deuce"
  7. I have not forseen your forsight... please elucidate for us mere mortals.
  8. The game installer is 16-bit which is incompatible with 64-bit versions of XP/2003/VISTA. The game itself is 32-bit and can run on all current 32/64-bit operating systems. If you are using an x64 version check the thread in general discussion or visit the #swrebellion chat room for a download link in topic to Rebellion x64 installer.
  9. Ok... so finally got around to emailing you. How many entries do we have so far mad? This thread is looking kind of dead.
  10. I put "home user"... i doubt anyone actually looks at it, just an automated database like everything else in the world.
  11. Some models have a keychain type attachment ring to them, thus you keep it on your keys...

  13. Maybe it was proper etiquette to appear in formal imperial dress when in the presence of Lord Vader? Vader exits stage left... boards lamda shuttle! Admiral: "I thought Dark Helmet was never going to leave... now I can take this damn thing off." Admiral tosses cover aside
  14. But espionage missions are almost always successful unless you send a lone droid to planet with garrisons. They also return info on other systems besides the target. Spreading out 15-20 droids across the galaxy gives you reliable amount of information to go on. Anymore really doesnt offer any greater intel and just increases the micro management.
  15. Explain this in detail for the non-galaxy enriched players!?
  16. Well, start the game on easy AI to get the basic setup of a multiplayer game. Each player starts out with even numbers of ships, characters, and planets. Then you beat the crap out of each other. Any other questions? Check out the thread about Hamachi, it seems to be an acceptable backup method of playing if IP connections are not working. Thanks to the following people for showing up tonight: Brianlara VE_Herbzta
  17. The problem with this conspiracy theory is GL is barely competent enough to direct a movie let alone orchestrate a global conspiracy on the scale your suggesting.
  18. I recall hearing that on a few of the inside star wars specials. Harrison Ford twisted around a good portion of his dialogue. Lucas had a pretty good story and drove special effect elements in the original triology, but he was never much of a screenwright. If it wasn't for Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg the Indiana Jones saga would have been filled with horrible dialogues as well. Part of the reason for the failure of the prequel trilogy are the weak actors, and those inexperienced enough to compensate for a crappy director. Even with a strong character personality as Samuel L. Jackson he didn't shine through in this movie in any regard. He was swallowed up by bad lines and poor performances. Lucas failed because he had too many digital characters, ie... all the conversations of actors with yoda... none of them knew really where to look or how to convey thought or emotion, they just stared off and read their lines. George could have borrowed a lesson from Peter Jackson here. As the actors in the Lord of the Rings trilogy interacted with Gollum, the actor played him in live action shots, and was then digitally replaced by the special fx crew.
  19. This thread is a show of hands about how many have made the plunge and who hasn't. I am still undecided. List your reasons for purchasing or deciding not to. I am skeptical about purchasing it because my friend picked up a copy the first week but had all sorts of issues with installing on it his system. The copy protection mechanism is not friendly to Alcohol 120% or Daemon Tools. We eventually removed both and cleaned the registry and eventually the game worked for him. I wish more developers would push online activation or "steam" distribution systems. The mobile gaming market is expanding at a rapid pace. Laptops with the newest GPUs are becoming mainstream. Developers need to shy away from forcing the paying customers from needlessly toting cd cases around. All modern games utilize full installs, there has to be a better solution than CD protection. Most laptop gamers choose to load iso images as virtual drives and SecuRom7 is not helping sales (show me any proof that curving piracy increases sales... i.e. RIAA cannot do not do so either) and actually alienates mobile users. Kudos to Valve for "steam" (HL2, CS:S, DoD:S) and to ID Software who while requiring a cd check on retail version of Doom3, disabled it in 1.1 patch. Their solution slows the piracy rate at release of title and by releasing a patch allows legitimate users to enjoy the game freely without toting a Doom3 cd everywhere shortly afterwards. 20. Remember, each monday is multiplayer meet-up... show up and find someone to play with. I won't be there as it is mid-term week and need to study and finish papers.
  21. I hated that in the demo. I thought maybe it would work differently in the retail version... but apparently not. Rebel transports have the ability to run past imperial blockades... I thought that was only with the help of Ion Cannons in TESB at Hoth. Lambda shuttles have no similar ability?
  22. Lets not even start to criticize the original trilogy. If the acting of the originals had been anywhere near as horrible as the prequel trilogy than the movies would have never found the fanbase they have now. ie. No swrebellion.com to have this lame discussion. The only criticism I can dish out is to Georgy boy himself... WTF is my DVD edition original untouched unbastardized theatrical release of Star Wars?! I don't want your SPECIAL FABROUCASTICALMADICOUSFANATICALSPECTAULARDICIOUS VERSIONS!!! Sorry for the rant... drank too much vodka tonight
  23. Depends on a lot of factors, how many characters have been recruited or captured. Are your defenses enough to keep him occupied for a few days to send an intercept fleet from a nearby system. I wouldn't worry about lasers/ions personally, but stronghold planets with lots of production I would keep at least 2 shields, troops, a general... or stock with lots of fighters. Have lots of espionage intel going to know where the incoming forces are.
  24. Hold the ctrl key and select all the units you want to be in a taskforce, select an empty taskforce icon and click it, the taskforce will be assigned a slot.
  25. Laser batteries can two things, a) they can damage ships of fleets that attempt to bombard the surface b) lvl1 takes one troop unit of a ground assault, lvl2 takes out two units. Ion Cannons can help characters escape when a fleet ground assaults a planet. They can also eliminate one troop unit of a ground assault. Shield Generators repel surface bombardment to a certain extent. Having one shield generator allows for ground assaults, having more than one prevents a ground assault. Enough bombardment power will destroy the shield generators (lots of tie bombers or y-wings, etc.; or victory destroyers). Of course most good players will have sabotagers aboard their fleet to take those defenses out before bombarding or assaulting.
