You need to do everything within the XML folder. Browse to: C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Demo\GameData\Data\XML In the folder "Play Mode Select (copy'come back here'paste)" you will find the other Factions and Difficulty options, copy the files inside the folder you want back to the location above. Load the game and start the conquest. The new side and options are available.

I think it's better for an organizer to flip a coin and randomly assign sides. Make sure no one practices too much with a particular side.

I have similar schedule conflicts... I have five courses this semester, 13 papers in total. Nobody has hammered out a timeframe yet, perhaps mid - late May when most peeps are done with classes?

Wow... the negativity is strong in this thread. "Net clogging standards"... It's a game, the number of entries should be relatively small. Arrange the matches, and space them a week apart and allow for the two contendors to find a suitable game time. Agree on tourneyment conditions... organizer flips a coin to assign player side randomly. Lock game speed at one bar, medium galaxy, standard victory (HQ if both players consent), save game minimum of every 50 days, etc. It's plausible... DarthTofu... multiplayer game will not last 2000 days guaranteed... at least not against me or pyschobob... and pray not to be empire b/c you'll be coruscant rushed within first 100 days, we play rough.

I will partake in this tourney just for the thrill of crushing a former GL member... WLF for life Dude... this game was out before anyone had broadband... it runs quite well on a 14.4 dial-up connection... I should know, I did it for years

SWRE was the ancestor of RebEd, it was a command line based program. RebEd was developed around 1998, v.26 was sometime in 1999 I think. This is dated as 2001 and uses a simple GUI.

I was digging through the dark corners of the internet... and found something interesting that had been long since swept under the carpet. After acquiring a russian proxy server to obtain the file from the hostile web server that did not like non-russian networks, I found a rather interesting Rebellion Editor I had never heard of before. Apparently it was written in 2001 by Alakanorran D. Zordrack with Delphi 6. It simply appears to be a unit stat editor, no card imports, etc... but I had not seen this mentioned before so just thought I'd post it.

I'd have no idea where to start... I've only had a few basic programming classes and never really payed that much attention during those I wasn't sure if it was possible to reverse engineer the program and extract the data engine, fill in the gaps and build a new GUI. Something modern like a web browser with tabs for each category, etc. If I was into the modding scene I might have some initiative to give it a go... but I'm not. I just like to throw ideas out there for those who are

Yeah... I use to be in top 20 in ranks back in the day when 100s of the people used to play this game online. I haven't played multiplayer in years... but I'd still take all the fun out of it for you.
