  1. Haha... I just owned your score, but I have no idea why, I've never even played most of those games. lol You scored: 14 / 20 Total points: 140 The average score for this quiz: 9 / 20
  2. I would definitely recommend this game to all Rebellion fans. I really like the multifaction elements with the implementation of diplomat characters and associated missions with the ability to bribe unloyal characters of other factions or if your funds are high enough outright purchase an owned region from another faction. Assassins can eliminate other characters, dips, merchants, religious leader, faction family members; or work sabotage missions on structures. Spys can infiltrate and return garrisons in castles and depending on stats can unlock the castle doors for a seige attempt. All the campaign elements would translate nicely to a Star Wars Galaxy environment, then of course all the battles can fought within the tactical game engine, another astounding piece of technology... using huge unit sizes I have fought some 2vs2 army battles with around 8,000 soldiers on map at the same time. I have a dual core opteron with 4gb of ram and it just chugs along but jaw-dropping all the same time. This was the first game that I bought since Rebellion that I literally spent a period of 24+ hrs with the game running non-stop (it was Christmas break - back to reality now)...
  3. Actually I am on the Virtual PC 2007 beta test. It is at release candidate stage and final should be here pretty soon. I haven't tried loading linux in it yet but all the microsoft o/s I have tried worked flawlessly for me. connect.microsoft.com if you want to take it for a spin, just apply and it auto accepts, not too pickly for vpc 2007 testers
  4. Well that pretty much sums up me and most of my friends... you got a problem with that?! We drink beer, grill, shoot garbage with shotguns, raise bluetick hounds and pitbulls, occasionally they interbreed to create a rather interesting and violent hybrid... my best friend has hair reminiscent of a late 80's richard dean anderson (macgyver) but we let it slide... just because you can't grasp the lifestyle doesn't mean you have to be an arrogant little s.o.b. with too few branches in your own family genome... go live in f*cking iraq if you hate it so much here you damn loony liberial cracker.
  5. If you have the saved game files you could put his file in your folder and your file in his folder and then you both launch the game and play the other's side. Unfortunately, the way reb saves game you need the save game files from both players to recreate a match, not just from one computer.
  6. The most fun is as a veteran player against a n00b, is to use standard victory and pick rebels... put together yourself a little taskforce and rush and capture coruscant very early in the game, then just pile everything you got on including the rebel HQ and conclude the harassment ;p
  7. Rebellion is a really odd game as far as directx is concerned. The developers chose to use DX2 Retained Mode which is basically directdraw applications passed into the hardware rendering mode. So basically there is no applicable hardware acceleration, why you can't get anisotrophic or anti-aliasing to work with the game. The game was touted as one of the DirectX3 launch titles which had made me wonder if there isn't a hardware DX3 mode hidden somewhere within the executable accessable via some unknown command switch. Obviously, the developers canned that approach and went with the software hybrid technology. What this has to do with WINE maybe very little, I'm not sure how the WINE developers have implemented the directx support. I know this the very reason why Rebellion no longer works in Vista though, as DX2 Retained Mode has been completely removed from system support. Who... you may want to try the -w command switch, this is the only known command switch for the games executable. It will launch the game in windowed mode, however I'm not positive how WINE implements or can handle window mode Windows applications. I am an occasional linux user but I have not used WINE much.
  8. So the game used to work and then you uninstalled it? I would suggest a clean install of the game, use the uninstall from Add/Remove Programs Control Panel, not the games Uninstaller Tool. Browse to Program Files\Lucas Arts\ and Delete the Star Wars Rebellion folder. Reinstall using the Full option and see if that works.
  9. Haha... Jack Bauer trumps all... 112 Terrorists kills in the first 5 seasons! Can't wait to see how many more he tallies up this January ;-p He dares you Imams to pray on a plane!
  10. Actually I think there was press release just the other day stating Gran Turismo HD development has been scraped and all resources are on Gran Turismo 5 now. So should be quite some time before that is ready so I won't plan on getting PS3 anytime soon now...
  11. I think I said something about some point trying to the C'Boath vocals but I have been hella busy with school this semester. Finals should be over on the 12th though so maybe I can throw together some C'Boath sounds if it help get the beta out by New Years ;p
  12. I hate work, I quit my job making $11/hr doing practically nothing... *bangs head on wall... Now someone buy a piece of my sweet ass so I can pay the rent!

    Treats

Treated myself to a new system recently... check the sig for details Any other time it's a 6-pack of Sam Adams or a 4-pack of Sugarfree Redbull... both set me back about $6
  14. All I care to play is Gran Turismo X ~ whatever number it's up to... so I might pick one up when it comes out if they are cheaper by then
  15. Yes, of course... it's a major disadvantage in a multiplayer game because unlike Coruscant you just can't pile a crap load of fighters on it
  16. it runs at the slowest setting picked by either player... ie ur on fast and buddy is on slow, the game runs slow, if your buddy changes to medium, then game changes to medium, etc. everything else is the same except you are not playing the stupid AI (unless your buddy has an IQ <50) and must adapt your tactics
  17. I am cornholio - I need TP for my bonghole...
  18. AVG Free ANTI-SPYWARE Download Page
  19. Masters of Teras Kasi. It was a Star Wars fighting game for PS1. That was horrible. Oh yeah... I remember that one now, it was the sux0r'd alright... takes top spot... right behind force commander
  20. hahaha... yeah i saw that as well but didn't want to offend anyone here
  21. I've noticed that AVG Free Anti-Spyware 7.5 is now available. I don't know if that is a new product that I overlooked or not, but I have been a long time user of AVG Free Anti-Virus and love it. Much lower system resource consumption than the competition and has all the features you need for free.
  22. I think a $4.99 package including the "Worst of PC" games from LucasArts would be more appealing myself. Force Commander Obi-Wan Star Wars Pod Racer The Phantom Menace ... any others? (Perhaps XWA, excellent engine, but the game lacked the Tie Fighter series style of mission and action)
  23. Well this one is definitely as random as they come... taken from the drudgereport.com this morning. Did this cat breed with a dog? http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2006/11/catydog_468x312.jpg[/url]
