  1. I feel bad for the 3rd and 6th graders who are being forced to be activist on an issue they are far too young to be concerning themselves with. The liberial education agenda in this nation is completely out of hand. You have schools full of activist teachers who think they are know it alls because they have a their precious Bachelors of Liberial Arts degree and a teachers certification. You don't see college kids who just finished their general education science requirement rushing off to the state and federal legislators to make pleas on behalf of our doomed planet. The reason being college students will take an environmentals course taught by a Ph.D. who is embedded in facts and not issues. It's easy for liberials to infiltrate elementary and middle schools and start to brainwash children into these needless worries and so far unproven science of global warning. It would be an entirely different issue if global warning had been proven beyond a reasonable doubt to educate children about it but it hasn't. For all the lame your far too young to be exposed to this topic but were going to tell you about it anyways (sex, STDs, global warming, "Why Sarah has two daddies?") topics they should go ahead and include a discussion on abortion and not from the Women's Rights and Movements: A Basic Introduction Course to Feminism texts. How about explaing to little Sally or Jason about how that older brother he/she wanted came along a little earlier in their parent's lives but they opted to run them through a meat grinder. Oh, Yea, Feel the Love! Hand meets face and next thing you know you're bitch slapped into reality like Rosie O'Donnell on a conservative talk show.
  2. You may like this one as well then. You know you shouldn't, but couldn't resist, it's okay, I won't tell anyone
  3. 50 pts per pair. Use the galaxy status to get the counts of each and build accordingly. Keep in mind that build times will sag if you do not have a stockpile of refined materials on hand. This is where raiding can play an important part in Rebellion, capturing a planet, sacking it, demolish structures and collect the refined materials, and abandon it can bolster your military build-up early in the game.
  4. Found an interesting article to support my attitude on the given subject: "Thus, the global warming movement seeks to repress guyhood in order to perpetuate itself. If a guy is shown a picture of a sad-looking polar bear adrift on an ice floe, his first thought will be something like, "I've heard that bear steaks are tough, but maybe if you marinated them in beer, they'd turn out all right." At that point, the alarmists' emotional ploy is foiled. In a world without guy stuff, however, his vacant mind may be invaded by irrationalities like, "Who will take care of the polar bears' children?" " http://www.nationalledger.com/artman/publish/article_272612158.shtml ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A fellow believer and member of the "latter" crowd. " At the leading edge of climate pessimism, the prognoses were frankly apocalyptic. "Before this century is over, billions of us will die and the few breeding pairs of people that survive will be in the Arctic," predicted James Lovelock, a renowned environmental scientist. " http://www.theage.com.au/news/in-depth/paranoid-planet/2007/03/17/1174080219538.html Note: I disagree on two things... the timeline and location of his conclusion. My opinion we are going to remain in the clear for at least the upcoming century and by the time this apocolypse does come the only people screwing will the ones in bio-dome structured colonies existing on Earth or Mars. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Vermont legislators call in "experts" to testify on global warning. "In Montpelier earlier this year, Bill Burrell's sixth-grade students testified before legislative committees about global warming and what Vermont can do about it." http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070317/NEWS01/303170003/1009&theme=

  7. Yeah... I know things were good for me back in the old days I've taken a step backwards and installed NT4 on VPC 2007 just for sh*ts and giggles lately... BTW... whoopty freaking doo! The ocean will be five wider by the time I die.... whoopty freaking doo! consequently it will be home to %30 less species also... whoopty freaking doo! did I mention I won't be around to worry about consequences caused by actions today... let tomorrow's assholes deal with the problems caused by assholes like me today... Ted Turner tried to warn us... back before I had that shiny 14.4k modem and some Windows for Workgroups I was watching this little known environmentalist wacko show for kids called Captian Planet! but even at an early age it proved to me that conservatism was breed into me and that liberials would never be able to squash my sensible side. Sorry Ted... you failed and consequently damned the planet in the process. I think you can still catch reruns of the show on Cartoon Network at early morning hours, it's a pretty lame ass show. No wonder no one wants to save the planet
  8. Some of us here are first generation Rebellion players... not third, fourth, fifth generation players that participate on these forums Demands that you bow to his expertise in these matters! I been on the Internet since my first 14.4 modem in my old Packard Bell with Windows 3.11... sometime before the introduction of Windows 95... I used Windows 3.11 until I moved to Win98 on a new machine just so I could play Rebellion. I don't think back then I cared much what date (y2k bug) the clock said on the PC, I was up at all hours of the day, skipping school, smoking weed, and having a hell of a time playing Rebellion on Microsoft Gaming Zone back when there were 200+ Rebellion players online
  9. He pays commercial property tax and maintenance fees on the building. City inspectors, etc.
  10. Well x64 has both 32-bit and 64-bit browser option. I tried both and it renders the same for me. Nevermind, fixed it - the only changes I had made were to the security configuration, I changed the Internet setting to "High" ; changing it back to "Medium-High" default setting and now the menu renders correctly. Odd little side effect of pumping up IE's security...
  11. The new graphic menu of the main page is broken when using IE7, not that I care because I usually use FireFox 1.5 which works just dandy with this site. Anyways, you can't click on or expand the menus in any way, it just don't work. http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/9738/swrmenufh8.jpg Edit: Secondary Issue - I won't start a new topic for it - more of a pet peeve... someone forgot to update the web server with DST patch. My profile timezone is set accordingly but the post times are still an hour behind. Get it fixed!
  12. Sorry... from a pure business perspective your landlord would be a retard if you just let you have the room and didn't hold you liable. He's got just as many bills to pay as you do.
  13. More importantly, who where believes in sasquatch? I think bigfoot is out there, somewhere... how will global warming effect his species. Will we have to shave him bald to prevent heat stroke? If we do, will he appear as a man underneath? These questions and more on the next Unsolved Mysteries
  14. To simplify my argument. I qualify global whining into three categories. People who deny global warming. People who acknowledge global warming and want to fix it. People who acknowledge global warming and think it's too little too late to try and fix it. I put myself in the latter crowd.
  15. My attitude... just because I make a joke about a subject doesn't mean I'm not up to date on the subject. Let's assume you are right... I do agree that we are on a course of self-made destruction. What can we really do with it? Do you think Al Gore's green credits or tinkering with a catalytic converter to reduce emissions by %20 is really going to help. Yes, we can lower the per capita emissions of each person on this planet, but the population growth is going to remain above replacement level by all estimates until at least 2050, at there is no guarantee it will slow then either. We have 6 billion people on the planet today, we will have somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 billion by 2050. Cut emissions all you want, but we will sucumb to sheer numbers. It is a futile effort... the amounts of CO2 already in the atmosphere could not be lowered for at least 300 years as that is the natural rate of reabsorbance. For my second joke on global warming... this is Bush's exit strategy on Iraq. Puts on his best Bush imitation Heh... Heh... tha Enemy... you know Ter'ists... they over there in that hot climate... we jus got'a kee'pa contain'd... theys start too feel tha heat real soon wit' dis globell warning stuff... points to Condi "Signal tha red alert..." heh... always wanted to say that, makes me sound like Capt. Kirk... oh yea... them ter'ists guys, they feel dis heat real soon. We jus gotta keep dim contain'd to Eraq... if we let Al Gore and Nancie Pelosee win tha war on globell warning than we will have lost the war on ter'ism... why kant anyone except me understann that?!
  16. Have you heard the news about the polar caps on Mars are melting?! It's because of those damn mars rovers we sent up there... their carbon footprint is just too large! We need to commission a new space mission to retrofit the rovers to be more environmentally friendly! OMG!:@)
  17. Yeah... El Turdo... what I said man!

  21. I had a really good reply written up for the gay marriage debate... but I hit reply and it took to the swrebellion.com mainpage index... I tried backing and clicking it again and same thing. Closed firefox and it dumped the clipboard contents (linux - default behaviour?)... Ugh... anyways I don't feel like retyping at the moment. Anyone else having forum issues?
  22. Anything you can contribute... I have few of my own but not really happy with any of them. I need to pick one by Wed. 14th, so if you want to put something together, try to have it to me by then. Thanks!
  23. After I said this I started wondering why we as a nation of liberial vs conservatives have polarized these two issues... Pro-Life - Right to Life for Everyone, Even Embryos Pro-Choice - Right to End Life for Ev... Err... Conscious Human Beings as long as they have not exited the Vagina fully... Pro-Gun Ownership - Anyone can own any weapon of their choice and as many of them as they want... given of course limitations on convicted criminals. Pro-Gun Control - Gov't tells you can't have certain gun models or own more than a certain number, or cannot own one at all depending on where you may live. I'm pretty sure one bullet from one gun, a .22 pistol, from point-blank range at your forhead would still have a pretty decent chance of killing you. So why are we lined up Pro-Life & Pro-Gun Ownership vs. Pro-Choice & Pro-Gun Control? Pro-Choice and Pro-Gun Ownership both protect the rights of Americans to make their own choices regarding situations or devices which could possibly cause injury and/or death of another being. Pro-Life and Pro-Gun Control both seek to limit the rights of Americans regarding their own choices regarding situations or devices which could possibly cause injury and/or death of another being. So why are political agendas and values organized as Pro-Choice/Gun Control vs. Pro-Life/Pro-Ownership?
  24. I agree with you in the sense of liability behind the Clinton Presidency... in any marriage the woman usually has an upper hand on decision making... where was Hillary when Bill had that little thing with Monica Lewinsky... I wouldn't be suprised if it were her idea that he should go national television and blatantly lie to the American people. Since becoming Senator she hasn't produced anything... bad as this Pelosi woman claiming to fix Washington in the first 100 hours Obama is fresh because he is a "clean black" in the literial since. He hasn't been in politics long enough to fail at anything or to have any other dirt upon him. Oprah pretty much put Obama in the presidential spotlight. Besides his sexy factor with some percentage of women voters, the average male is left wondering what the fascination with Obama is and more less need at least 5 beers before turning more than a blind eye to Hillary. Dispite his inexperience, Obama does carry himself strongly and his speeches are more inteligible than anything spewing from GW or Hillary, but I don't think he talk himself into the white house. As a moderate republican I do find Guiliani to be a good prospect for the Republican nomination. I am pro-life but Guiliani has stated while he is pro-choice in his personal beliefs those decisions are in the hands of the court and the legislators, that he would appoint conservative judges who would make decisions rationally and in accordance with existing law rather than radical judges who are trying to make political statements. I also differ from Rudy on gun control, Rudy is pro gun control, but he believes it to be a state issue and has expressed his desire not to pursue federal gun control statues. As a republican I definitely like seeing small federal gov't and more rights given back to the individual states. Guiliani's character is also very defining, I remember post-9/11 seeing Rudy on television giving moving and heart-felt speeches to the nation and residents of NYC. He stepped up and overshadowed GW. I believe if Guiliani had had the ability to led the NY National Guard to Afghanistan he could have hunted down Osama and Al Qaeda and brought some sense of vengence to the situation rather than getting the nation sidetracked and disposed in Iraq and now the insurgents in Afghanistan are on the rise again... I have a similar feeling... the man used to be a leader in the Senate... but he has flip-flopped on the issues too much the past few years. He has too soft of an approach to deal with international affairs in my opinion. We need another Reagan in office, GW has tried to play the staunch cowboy but his tactics are juvinille and ineffective... that's where I see Guiliani playing his trump card on McCain.
  25. Well if you say so... I was feeling deja vu myself.
