Yes, my attempts were using the XP x64 file versions WOW64/system32/d3drm.dll copied over to same directory of Vista x64 and the windows/system32/d3drm.dll copied over to same directory of Vista x64. In my attempts the game would bring up a black screen and fail to render any graphics. If you have both versions of XP x64 and Vista x64 play around with them and see if you have any luck with it.

good to know... now I just need to figure a way to get x64 to work because I've tried a similar method with it but all I would get is a black screen and nothing else.

In how much time do the events in each SW film occur?

- Phantom Menace - 133 mins - Attack of the Clones - 142 mins - Revenge of the Sith - 140 mins - A New Hope - 121 mins org - 125 mins se - Empire Strikes Back - 124 mins org - 127 mins se - Return of the Jedi - 134 mins org, 135 mins se imdb is your friend... Attack of the Clones is the longest technically... Phantom Menace felt the longest as I lulled around the theatre seat waiting for it to be over. RotJ goes by the quickest as the pace quickens after rescue of Han from Jabba palace... Lando piloting the Millennium Falcon! -
LOL... I think that episode was on last night... seriously, that still of Spock with hands clasp together is from the one where Kirk is making sweet love to the displaced Native American woman who thinks he's a God and Kirk's ego suffering from amnesia cannot deny that he is a God and all the Indians think he came from the temple that deflects the asteriods but it was really put there by an ancient race of aliens known as The Preservers... and then Spock tops it all off by doing a Vulcan Mind Fusion with Kirk to restore his memory and he gets his mojo back and still bangs the girl one more time before he dumps her. It must be a full time job for McCoy to be treating Jim's space herbes.

"A Merchant Marine Ministry spokeswoman confirmed that a prosecutor charged the captain but said she could not confirm a report on state NET TV that five other officers also were charged. The captain, chief mate, second mate, third mate, chief cabin steward, and housekeeper of the Greek-flagged vessel were arrested after the accident, the Merchant Marine Ministry spokeswoman said earlier Saturday. If upheld in court, the charges carry a maximum five-year sentence." http://apnews.myway.com/article/20070407/D8OBRR4O2.html WOW- Greek law is strict, I can ponder 5 years for the Captain but arresting the chief housekeeper as if hitting volcanic rock was his fault? wtf?

So does that mean you have Vista32 and my solution worked? I have no idea if that actually works or not so you will have to let me know. Don't admire me just yet... a little feedback first.

I want you to try this. Download the dll from this website and put it in your C:\windows\system32 directory. Try running the game and see if it works. I had only tried x64 edition with no success but it may work on the 32-bit. http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files_new.php/dllfiles/D/d3drm.dll/5.1.2600.0/download.html If it still does not run, try the next step. Open Windows Prompt and enter the command> REGSVR32 C:\Windows\System32\d3drm.dll Please report back if you have success with only step 1, or it works after step 2, or does not work after both steps.

Microsoft has removed the support for Direct Draw Retained Mode from both Vista 32/64 editions. Rebellion requires this mode for operation and the d3drm.dll is required for this functionality. Vista has no implementation of this rendering mode and if present the file should be found within the contents of /windows/system32 and windows/WoW64/system32 on x64 systems. My attempts to transfer d3drm.dll from older versions to Windows to Vista editions was not successful. Easiest way to play may be to download VM Server (free) and install a virtual XP installation from which you can install the game but the downside is that you cannot make it fullscreen as the game executable will force the virtual enviornment window down to its 640x480 resolution which with modern displays and high resolutions is quite annoying.

How would a developer of Morrowind qualify as famous? That's about as uninteresting as sharing my stories of meeting the drummer of The Charlie Daniels Band while wrenching on bike on his tour to my town or of chatting with Gary Fisher or Ron Wilkerson. Maybe you've heard of Charlie Daniels but why would you give a crap about his band and unless you are familiar with the respective sport of the later two mentioned you have no idea who they are as well. If it is you Wormy, you can admit to without being stalked by at least one member of this forum. I can't speak for Tufo though as he's a bit of a perv. Watch your cornhole.

Rebellion Reloaded BETA - Questions and Answers
budious replied to Lord_La_forge's topic in Rebellion Reloaded
Didn't mean to imply that there was anything wrong with it... XP SP2 still owns half my hard drive on my laptop... the other half belongs to Ubuntu 6.10... I got some Windows Home Server beta running on a server (interesting product) and PC-BSD running on my main desktop system. My recommendation simply came from the point of view that if you are asking about Vista compatibility, more than likely you upgraded from a previous version of Windows (ie. XP) and you can rollback if you want to. On the other hand, if you want to use a sophisticated operating system and feel special since Vista isn't making the cut for you than try an alternative open source solution. Probably not something %99 of the users need here but having a bit of knowledge never hurts... I mean what are you going to do when the next version of Windows Home cost as much as Small Server does today? Ask yourself what takes Microsoft more time and resources to develop, Windows or Office, and then ask yourself why Office Suite costs around $499 for a standard edition. Once you realize that if Microsoft ever develops an effective anti-piracy solution you can expect to pay $500 for a version of Windows. That is your future.... fortunately I won't be sharing it with you... -

Day I snorted my father's ashes, by Keith Richards http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/showbiz/showbiznews.html?in_article_id=446543&in_page_id=1773 The Rolling Stones guitarist has told how he snorted his own father's ashes in a drugs binge. "The strangest thing I've tried to snort? My father. I snorted my father," he said. The 63-year-old detailed in a magazine interview how he mixed the ashes with cocaine and inhaled them.

Star Wars Rebellion - x64 Installer (Beta 4)
budious replied to budious's topic in General Discussion
sent! Remind everyone this only works on XP x64. Microsoft decided to cut the graphic rendering mode support required for Rebellion with the release of Vista. I so far have no work around to get Rebellion running under Vista x64. Users of Windows Vista 32-bit take a look at the thread - http://www.swrebellion.com/forums/postt3795.html. Related projects... PC-BSD: I hope to put together a .pbi installer file of Rebellion for PC-BSD. PC-BSD is a FreeBSD operating system with KDE preinstalled and package management system which utilizes packaged installer files in the .pbi format. These files when double-clicked from the desktop launch a self-installer providing a graphical interface for each step of the installation - A great translational feature for Windows users looking to learn BSD. In addition, this system is very flexible allowing multiple versions of programs to coexist installed on the same system since each has it's own directory in /Programs. Windows programs can be installed using a localized WINE configuration specific to the application installed through the .pbi format. This means as an end user you can run Windows applications on BSD without needing to know how to configure WINE. Visit http://www.pbidir.com for a complete listing of available .pbi files including popular applications such as Photoshop 7.0, Dreamweaver MX, and Grand Theft Auto 2 all running under localized WINE. And of course, all your favorite GPL/GNU software - Open Office, FireFox, and more! Also available are .pbi packages for bsd (linux compatible) native games such as America's Army 2.5, Enemy Territory 2.60b among others. And if all that is not enough don't forget the 16000+ ports and packages available through the traditional FreeBSD sources. ReactOS - in it's infancy (denotes alpha quality) but aspires to be a clone of the windows operating system with complete subsystem compatibility. The DirectX (ReactX) implementation is nearing completion up to DirectX 8.0 compatibility. In the current release 0.3.1 my Rebellion port is not so far operational but it should be noted that the 0.3.1 release was a code cleanup and rewrite release and other members are telling the game work in previous releases. Of course these problems will be fixed by the next release and bring the O/S back to the same compatibility as previous versions plus new features. A specific port may not be needed though, at some point the native 16-bit installer may become completely compatible with ReactOS as well. For more info, skip over to http://www.reactos.org Update: Added some pages to the SW Rebellion Wiki - Please discuss your problems or changes to posted solutions to the original forum thread. Refinement of the wiki documentation will be updated as deemed necessary. http://www.swrebellion.com/rebedwiki/index.php/Windows_XP_x64 http://www.swrebellion.com/rebedwiki/index.php/Windows_Vista http://www.swrebellion.com/rebedwiki/index.php/Wine_on_Linux_or_BSD -
Rebellion Reloaded BETA - Questions and Answers
budious replied to Lord_La_forge's topic in Rebellion Reloaded
Unless the developers have done a complete rewrite of the executable and it uses some other rendering method other than Direct Draw Retained Mode than don't count any blessings of playing Rebellion or Reloaded on Vista as the support for that mode has been dropped, search for d3drm.dll on your system, if it doesn't exist then you can't play Rebellion. With that said, I saw something about a rewrite but they haven't been forthcoming with details so that could mean anything from entirely new to hexedited. If you get desperate enough you can install Linux or BSD and use WINE to play Rebellion. I'm pretty sure ReactOS may even reach a point of reliability of installing and playing Rebellion within the next year. -

Rebellion Reloaded BETA - Questions and Answers

Don't get your hopes up too high... they have me convinced that it's a sequel to Duke Nukem: Forever they are taking their sweet time on but I'm sure it'll be optimized to get me like 100,000 FPS online while playing by the time it comes out.
